To the Stonehouse Cafe and all its staff. We have dined at the Stonehouse Cafe on a couple of different occasions and we loved the quality of the food and how helpfull all the staff have always been. So when it came to planning our wedding we decided we wanted something small and intimate with good food and good people. The Stonehouse was our first thought so the next time we where their we asked if they could accommodate a wedding, as always the staff where really enthusiastic and helpfull they gave us the contact information of the events coordinator Rea and said they would pass on our information to her. We recieved a call from Rea and we arranged to go in at a later date to see the event space and discuss what we would like and what could be done. When we arrived we where shown the space and discussed all the finer deatails she was so enthusiastic and excited about having a wedding to arrange and made us feel completely at ease with the whole process. We walked out knowing it was the perfect place for us. With a bakery (seperate business from the stone house) on sight it made everything less stresfull. The baker Patrick he was so friendly and helpfull and just as enthusiastic as the Stonehouse to be apart of our spcial day. As the wedding day approached we decided on a few changes to the menu, we phoned up Rea and she was more than happy to cater to our needs. On the big day we got married on the balcony that had been set up and decorated to fit in to the color scheme of the wedding. with a breath taking view of Lake Washington in the back ground it made the wedding photos so special. After the ceremony they brought the food out, it was presented perfectly and was delicious, there was definately no shortage of food. All of our guests commented on how good the food was and more than one person said it had been the best wedding they had been to with the reception dinner so wonderfully set up. The room was decorated so beautifully. All of the staff where so friendly, helpfull, walm and worked so hard with a smile on their faces. We would happily recommend the stone house to friends and family for special occasions as it was definately stress free at an affordable cost. Thank you to all the Staff and to the owner Lea Ann at the Stonehouse cafe!! Steven and Linzi

TLDR: We didnt finish our shared entre and they somehow got ahold of my email address. My wife and I were on our way to Zippys for dinner and passed Stone House, and on a whim, we decided to stop here instead. It was a bit before 8pm on a Sunday. There were about 20 patrons dining on the patio. The hostess greeted us by saying that they “close in three minutes so they can’t serve us any alcohol or we could place an order to go.” We were a bit confused and said we could go somewhere else if they weren’t seating for dinner. The hostess replied by saying that she could seat us inside or outside. So we sat outside after confirming an additional time that they were actually still seating for dinner “as long as we didn’t order alcohol.” We opted to split an entre of the chicken fried steak; the menu described it as coming with steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes. The food came out quickly and the waitress checked on us immediately after we took our first bite, which at that point seemed fine. We found the potatoes to be unusually bland and extremely buttery, as were the sautéed (not steamed) vegetables. My wife’s half of the chicken fried steak was mostly gristle. The combination of the gravy with the buttery sides was too rich to eat. Neither of us finished our halves of the entre as the only thing used to season the meal was butter. I paid with my debit card and left. The majority of the patrons that were there when we initially arrived were still dining. When we got home, I had an email from Stone House asking for feedback. At no time during our visit did I give the venue my email address. I haven’t ever had any other establishment send me an email after using my debit card and I’m honestly not sure if this is a new attribute to my bank or not. Either way, getting an email from somebody who I never gave it to is creepy. Overall, it was a socially uncomfortable experience with bland food that was too rich to eat. We should’ve just stuck with the original plan and followed through with Zippy’s.

The waitress and hostess were not paying different levels of attention and services to different tables. Hostess saw us coming in and after about 3 mins finally acknowledged us. Waitress never come to refill water or asking hows the food beside taking order and deliver check. Food was horribly proportioned in compare with the marked price. For 28 dollars, the finger-food size of short rib was overcooked and very dry. Got a full plates of unflavored roasted carrots and potatoes. Polenta was store bought corn meal cooked with cubed ham and without proper flavor. The whole dish was a culinary disaster. The cocktail was just plain mistake of mixology. I am wondering of the bartender there ever got proper trainned. This is a restaurant that I do not understand how can it get 4.1 star rating here. Me and my friends will never go back to the place and I will strongly advice NO ONE should ever invested on spending money on a place like this unless you just have too much cash in the pocket that has nowhere to go.

Brunch fare is good, not great. Still have to attempt dinner here. Wish they would mix up the menu a little bit. The early weekend waitstaff need to get it together or be replaced. I say this after coming here several times to get a better feel and have determined that it is not an isolated incident. Theres one particular young girl--might be related to the owner--has a word tattooed behind her left ear and a huge chip on her shoulder. Shes completely rude and has poor table-side etiquette, not only from multiple personal experiences but from also observing and listening to other tables complain about her amongst themselves. Its a real turn off. Granted (at the aforementioned time) theyre young and obviously inexperienced, it leave your attitude at home and be professional. Lastly, learn to not reach over my plate while Im eating and nearly knock me in the head to refill the water glass on the other side of the table. Gracefully walk over there and fill it up. Sheesh.

This place has the WORST service and some of the food was just ok and some pretty good. We waited 25 minutes for a waitress to even stop by, and had asked a busser to grab a waitress twice in that time. She never asked us if we wanted drinks. To be fair, shes probably like 16 and in her first job. The rest of the staff looked young and were acting inexperienced as well. Some food was good - my husbands burger as really good. His fries were so undercooked and glistening with oil like the fryer wasnt hot. My eggs Benedict could have been really good if the egg werent cooked solid and muffin actually roasted. My potato square things were chewy like they were in a warming lamp for an hour. My dad said the same as the above about his fish and chips. Just soaked in oil like the fryer wasnt hot. We will not be back here and would not recommend it, despite the very pleasant patio / outdoor seating.
