This is one of those places that Ive always heard about but never ventured out to try right away. Burger joints are always easy to oversell yet hard to please. Everyone has such different taste buds when it comes to a "good burger." Theres fast food style, hole in the wall, gourmet style, the greasy burger, restaurant, etc etc... but then theres Blue Moon Burgers... Its not quite gourmet, its far greater quality than hole in the wall - and dont you dare call it fast food. what it is... is a delicious burger. Its got a bit of character from each aspect and then it becomes its own. The brioche bun is gourmet-ish, the fried egg and sweet bacon is what you want from a hole in the wall, it drips with sauces and oozes with cheese like a greasy burger, but its so neatly piled on and you can have amazing Parmesan garlic fries and a ice cold beer like a restaurant. My favorite here thus far is the El Diablo Azul. Not at hot as I would like it to be but the perfect balance of heat and burger, throw an egg on there and you have paradise on a bun. I recently tried the Hangover burger, i loved the brioche bun but wasnt too big of a fan of the french fries in the burger, kind of made dry and sucked the flavor out. I enjoy fries with my meal but not in every bite. As mentioed the parmesan garlic fries were pretty spot on. great balance of cheese and garlic, but doesnt leave your breath smelling too bad lol. Fries were of great crispy texture. I didnt like the jalapeno bottle caps, the breading was a little off and over powered the jalapenos themselves. And the chili cheese fries were good in theory but may have just been an off day for me because I didnt really enjoy it. it lacked a little flavor. Over all though, this place is great! A few tips to keep in mine... if you go, try a Wednesday night as they do 1/2 price burgers which is an awesome deal. Also there is a small public parking garage behind the building, BMB doesnt validate parking but you can grab some menchies next door after a burger and theyll validate up to an hour.

Blue moon is the type of place that you get a burger because you were hankering for one, not because you sought it out. We came here during January when they had waffle fries. The fries werent as waffle-y and were mostly end pieces. Some parts of the fries werent cooked right, probably due to the way they were cut and you just got a really hard part of the potato instead of mushy goodness with a crunchy exterior. I liked the sweet potato fries though! Nothing wrong with it. Ciabatta bread here is the soggy kind. Dont expect a nice crunch from it, but some people like it like that. The burger itself was decent, but slid around a lot when taking a bite. This is due to the way they constructed the burger. They ended up putting lettuce and tomato on the bottom bun before putting on the patty with a lukewarm American cheese and toppings. If it were me, Id put the patty and cheese on the bottom with the uncooked vegetables in the middle while topping it with the grilled onions and mushrooms I ordered. It wouldve been less messy I think.

Ive been a longtime fan of Blue Moon in Fremont--often walking three miles round-trip to get a burger. The Capitol Hill location is great--especially that "garage door" that opens the seating area to the sidewalk. We were at a tasting party so got to try four burgers, three sides and several beers. Yippee! I would order every burger again, though was surprised the El Diablo was my favorite--knocking my beloved Blue Shroom burger off its throne. Their fries are good (though I prefer medium-cut) and so are the onion rings. I like pickles, but the frickles didnt do it for me. Oh, and I LOVE their blue moon sauce! Dont know whats in it, yet I could almost eat it with a spoon. So glad to have a yummy burger place on the hill--especially one that cares about the source of its meat. Ill be back!

These guys have a nice selection of burgers at this place! I went to an event here where we sampled a lot of stuff on the menu. Its hard to get a feel for how good a burger is when youre getting just a bite-sized taste of one. Most came out well-done and patties seem thinner than other gourmet-burger joints, but Id have to try a whole one again to see. The Blue Shroom burger did seem pretty awesome though - crumbled blue cheese, bacon and mushrooms. All the sides I tried (waffle fries, fried pickes, onion rings) were pretty exceptional. The space is pretty no-nonsense and reminds me of a Chipotle. This place is a welcome new addition to the many burger joints cropping up around the city!

First of all, their Wednesday night special, 4 PM until closing time, is a great deal to take advantage of, with all burgers half price when you order a side or drink to go with it. Second, on top of having a pretty nice menu to begin with they also rotate in new tasty items every month, in the form of a new burger, side, and shake each month. The background music tends to be reliably good, the atmosphere is great, and Ive never had a problem with my food despite going there dozens of times, which statistically speaking is rather impressive. I highly recommend checking this place out, especially on any given Wednesday night.

This place is fairly mediocre. Very thin patties that look like they were frozen, soggy fries that taste like they were cooked and left in a refrigerator for a day even though they claim fresh cut. The burgers are McDonalds quality or worse. There isnt really much to write home about. Blue Moon burgers could absolutely do better I feel. They could have their restaurant packed every night, making more money by charging more $ if they made a better quality burger. Friendly service, clean inside, great location otherwise. 3 stars for that alone. I will update my review to reflect if their food improves.

Gluten free bun, onion rings, and beer. What I loved about the place was that I could order all the foods I crave in gluten free (beer and onion rings, how I have missed you). It wasnt the best burger Ive ever had (Googs in Holland, MI has that title), but it was a 4 star burger. The onion rings were a bit greasy and the batter didnt stick too good- but it sure beats making them at home or not having any. Just order two gluten free beers first and everything will seem amazing. Great place to go with friends who eat "regular" food.

Burgers are delicious. Theyre made with unique and fresh ingredients - combinations you wont find anywhere else. Ill definitely be back. I really liked the Burger of the Month for August, The Evergreen State Burger. "We start with a 1/3 pound all natural grass fed beef patty, then add a healthy slather of the Porcine Preserves, a handful of Willapa Hills artisan Big Boy Blue Cheese crumbles, some crunchy Walla Walla sweet onion straws, a slice of juicy tomato, mayo, and micro greens on a Grand Central Bakery brioche bun."
