This place is a disgrace and a health concern. Upon entering the restaurant, I quickly realized that cleanliness and service were not a priority of the management. Food and napkins littered the dirty and dated carpet. The booths were filthy as well. Apparently, cut orange slices were left out in the open with no concern for food safety---which is probably why I felt queasy after eating. In addition, the staff wins the rudeness award. Never have I eaten at a place which has such disdain for its customers. Lack of service, unfriendly servers and staff, major health concerns, and a lack of cleanliness prove that this restaurant has a total disregard for its customers. Save yourself and go to PF Changs or another reputable restaurant.
Im a New Yorker and very picky about good Chinese food (American at least, havent been to China, just China-town!) I was so happy to enjoy this restaurant. We did take out. Side note: I was completely disgusted by the Canton Cook 1 by the Hearth in the Whole Foods shopping center. Bad chicken, sauces and the lo mein tasted like plastic. I sat there thinking (snobbishly Ill admit) "these people are only eating here because they have no idea what good Chinese food is". This CC 2 place is different owners (though related!) and obviously different cooks and buyers of their food and produce. I am excited to have Chinese food I can enjoy right around the corner.
Just food with a LOT of MSG. I always ask for NO MSG but they put it in the food anyway, and Im left with a migraine headache. They also charge WAY too much!! Three dishes sets you back $50+ ... Once made an order by phone, and they didnt trust that I was coming to pick up, so they waited for me to get there, I said I called in the order, "what was your order" I tell them, and sure enough he yells in Chinese to the lady who runs to the kitchen to place the order and I wait there 15 minutes... their kids are always there playing on ipads all day long, too cheap to get a baby sitter and they making a killing.
For me, this is one of the most consistent and flavorful Chinese food options around. I prefer this restaurant over the original Canton Cooks on Hammond - I think the food quality is better, and it seems much cleaner. You cant go wrong with the Mongolian chicken. The best time to go is during lunch. You get a lot of food (your main course, plenty of rice, a chicken wing and an egg roll) for $8.50. These prices increase significantly for dinner.
Este comentario va para la comunidad venezolana, la comida China de este restaurante no le llega ni a los tobillos a la que estamos acostumbrados a comer en Venezuela. En la factura ya vienen cobrado los tips.
Ive only been once, so Ill update my review as I go back more times, because I definitely will return to this restaurant. The lunch menu is standard American Chinese restaurant fare, but they do it better than any other American-style Chinese restaurant. The hot and sour soup is thick and dark and savory; the curry shrimp was cooked in onions and peppers that were fresh and crunchy. Highly recommended, cant wait to go back.
Ordered the Mongolian Chicken, hot and sour soup. Too much soy sauce in the hot and sour soup(noticable by color and then taste). Too much sugar in the Mongolian Chicken (definitely noticable by taste). Healthier than McDonalds if they would leave out the MSG lol (noticable by the phlegm in your mouth after eating). Most people dont know any better and say this is the best food theyve ever had lol.
Ive eaten here about 2 or 3 times. My LAST time was last Friday. I can ordered the Happy Family, which tasted really good, however the next morning I woke up with food poisoning. A coworker told me she once experienced the same thing. The only other thing I had to eat was trail mix and some cucumber. Thank god for ACV which took away the vomiting and diarrhea but I will not eat here ever again.
Horrible called and the guy was rude and ask me did I know thein location because Im not in there phone and there is another Canton Cook restaurant on roswell rd. I called back because the other one was close and the guy repeatedlty hung up on me so when I got there I asked him so you dont answer your phone. Very horrible customer service. We are why people like you are in business.
Ive came to this restaurant (Canton Cooks 2) a bunch of times but what I saw in egg drop soup made never come back. There was a maggot in my soup and it was very disgusting (maggots are created by rotten foods). The employees there did not care about it and only gave us a 20% discount. I do not recommend this restaurant to anybody. Very unprofessional
I came here for lunch, they have a decent selection of food for a decent price. They have a mix of chinese American dishes and more authentic chinese dishes to choose from. I uploaded the proper photo of the front of the restaurant. The other photos on googlemaps were that of Canton Cooks 1
You literally cant get better Chinese food in sandy springs and youd be hard pressed to find many better Cantonese places even on Buford hwy. Egg rolls the size of your head. Try the salt and pepper pork chops or the green beans with minced meat.
My friends and I love CC#2. Its authentic Chinese food and the service is fast. If youre not sure what to try, my favorites are: salt and pepper calamari, salt and pepper pork, Mongolian beef, snow pea leaves, mixed hot pot.
Me and my wife have eaten there in the past and it was good. Also we have gotten take out on several occasions.Great food and fair price.I like to give local business my support by trading with them.
This is one of our go-to Chinese places when in Sandy Springs. It seems pretty authentic, at least for an American-Chinese restaurant. Been here two dozen times and never had to wait to sit down.
Its far better than typical take-away Chinese restaurants but not that authentic as you might find on buford highway area. Overall I recommend it to you, if you have never been here before.
I have been there a few weeks ago. The atmosphere is typical Chinese restaurant, not fancy, rather old furniture. The food were average. If you dont expect that much it can be fine.
Most frequently visited Chinese restaurant in town. Authentic Cantonese Chinese food with live seafood. Currently offering twin lobsters for $35 any style. Cant beat that price!
Good taste, low price. Been coming here a while for lunch and dinner. Staff is patient to make any dish any way you want, thats what makes them a great place to chow.
Go to the original Canton Cook a mile away for better food. This place is bigger and has 5 big round table that can probably seat 12.

Quick and easy standard Chinese. Lunch specials provide a large portion of food for the price and include soup and egg roll.
Good food and flavors. Fast service and quiet. Not the best looking on the inside but it was a good experience. Good prices.
Waitress could barely speak English. Had a hard time giving her an order. Food was 7/10. Not sure I will come back.
I judge every Chinese place by the quality of the hot and sour soup and they have fantastic hot n sour!!!
