The only reason I gave this place a 1 star, is because I had to in order to write a review.. I was in last weekend with my best friend of 20some odd years. Who happens to be a lesbian. I am a straight married woman. I have never in my life felt so discriminated against as I had when at the Porthole. The waitress damn near refused to serve us. A table that came in a good 5/10min after us, got their beers before us. While our 2 bloodymarys sat at the bar. We finished our drinks, waited. Waited some more for the waitress to come back for another round... She never did. We had to go to the bar & get our own drinks. The stares, the rudeness of this place was unreal. So, my advice to you if you are of of the LGBTQ community.. DONT VISIT THE PORTHOLE. They dont want your money!

We have been here a few times. But this experience prompted me to write a review. I started off with a water, which I noticed had floating chunks in it. The waitress was sweet and I got a bottle instead. But she made a comment about it being from a bloody mary from last night and the dishes were probably not cleaned properly. I ordered the po-boy. It was pretty good. Before, I have had the BLT which is delicious. That waitress got busy so another lady came to take our order. She was very abrupt and kind of rude. But at least for the rest of the time, we had the nicer girl. I also think they had some sort of fire alarm thing every time someone on a game made a touchdown. It was extremely loud and my party also found it annoying.

Seriously regretting the decision to eat here tonight. Coulda gone to two other places that I know and love. Got told when we walked in that they were having computer trouble and food would take a little extra time, fine, i can deal with that. But not taking a drink order while we wait to place a food order? No. 20 minutes for a beer?after that? Not cool. Letting my beer sit empty after I ordered another for 15 minutes? Yeah, great way to make sure we never come back. Too bad this is the only game in town after 10 pm. What happened to writing a food ticket and handing it to the kitchen? Really. Omg we might have to ring up a bill by hand?!? Gasp. When we finally got the steak we ordered a full third of it was inedible gristle.

The only reason that they deserve a 1 star is because the beer was at least cold... The food sucked, the seafood Alfredo was pathetic, the mash potatoes were from a box, I think they forgot to add the flavor. The chicken fried steak was decent but its hard to f*** that up... We will never go again, I think they missed the point when they charge $4.50 a beer for a 24hour happy hour that they proudly promote, go to Bennetts fish shack!!! It is really good seafood and ice cold drinks..... and fyi I originally wrote this before I puked for 8 hrs with food poisening.... go to bennetts!

Personaly I love the place. Great people. Great locals. Great food. Its here. And I will have to disagree with Jessica Stark. As a card carrying member of the LGBT community Ive never had a problem here. Many from the local LGBT community call this their watering hole. You may have had a problem with the cocktail wench but a way around that is sit at the bar. Give it another try as someone may have had a bad day.

My wife and I spent about 30 minutes deciding where to eat and Im super glad we pick the Porthole Pub. Amazing atmosphere, wonderful wait staff, and of course phenomenal food. A simple menu with everything youd expect seafood, bugers, and steaks. We had the bacon wrapped scallops to die for along with cod n chips, and house chowder also impressive. Definitely a diamond surrounded by mediocre restaurants.

Good asst. of beers on tap,and bottle, and a wide variety of spirits and mixed beverages. The food is good and plentiful. The service is good, fast and friendly. Kareocky is almost a nightly thing,and the manager has been there for years and years. Hes a funny and friendly man,and very easy to talk to and will go out of his way to help you and Make sure that your stay us enjoyable. This is a must see!

The most disgusting pizza I have EVER had in my life!!! It was some microwaved, boxed, overpriced, greasy, most fake tasting thing ever. Absolutely disappointed. Place looked very trashy. I will post up a photo of how totally revolting that pizza was. Even school lunch was better than this!

Terrible service. We were waiting for service and didnt receive it. Cigar and cigarette smoke rolls through the front door because they allow heavy smoking right out on the front porch. What about the 25 ft rule? Hmm. Dont really know how this place has such a high rating. It was terrible.

Love the food and very friendly people that work and hang out here . I have always felt welcome. The staff are always eager to help me because Im in a wheelchair. Thanks so much for accepting me as a disabled vet , and the 10% discount on the food.

I had the B&G breakfast. Everything was wonderful. The service was outstanding and the food was really good. Could maybe use just a touch more of the gravy on the biscuits, but the flavor was really good and the eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly!

I usually eat there when ever we are in town the food is usually good but today I had the worst seafood fettuccini I have ever had I think it even had a piece of chicken in it. I dont know who the cook was but it was about 7: 30 at night on 8/14

Yum! The food was really good. I had a steak sandwich and hubby had fried oysters, both delicious. The bar tender was nice and very attentive. Karaoke Tues through Saturday I hear... Such a great hang out after a long day at the beach :)

Killer homemade pepper jack cheese sticks!! Best hot manager and bartenders. Also has true life mural on wall with history of one tree carved into the tables by one man for Porthole. An exceptioal place!!!
