From a 7th grader (part 1 of 2): Sunrise’s margarita pizza will stand the test of time for all pizza lovers. This pizza reminds all of us who have enjoyed sunrises pizza over the years the memories we had while having it and for people who have not had it, it is waiting for you to create good time with it. When you take your first bite a recollection of good times come back and flood into your brain. For us who feel this sensation Sunrises margarita pizza is more than just food. It is the symbol of good times for us who have enjoyed this legendary mix of dough cheese and tomato sauce. This small and amazing restaurant has been around since the 1980’s and has served the people of Rye with its delicious food. Sunrise gives thanks for its success to its great service and its founder and head chef, Alex. Alex is from Italy and holds a close relationship with all his customers and treats them like family. This creates an enjoyable, warm welcoming atmosphere in the restaurant which is quite pleasant. Whenever I go there Alex will welcome me with a warm slice and will always check in on me. By doing this he creates a tight bond with customers and by extending his hand of friendship it makes an enjoyable welcoming feeling whenever you walk in. Sunrise’s margarita pizza is something special. It comes fresh out of the oven warm and loving welcoming you to remnis all the good times the two of you enjoyed together. The pizza made with fresh mozzarella from the local farmers market and tomatoes fresh from upstate New York combined with the flour in the state. It also comes at a nice price at $4.50 and it is the best $4.50 you will ever spend. All of these ingredients combine to create something truly more than just a food it combines to create good times that you will recollect later on. What other pizza can do that? the simple answer is that there is no other pizza that can do this. I urge you to go and eat at sunrise pizza and enjoy the euphoria and recollections of happy times you will experience with this amazing pizza. Alex really does make the restaurant stand out, creating his pizza from his mothers recipe. This put sunrise on the map delivering a delicious pizza to the people of Rye.But the atmosphere of the restaurant is truly something special you feel like its home, cozy, friendly, loving and welcoming which is quite pleasant. A combination between the building, Alex and the pizza is responsible for this. First off the old building with aged red paint and old green chairs with marble tables creates a feeling of being in the past which makes you feel of all the time enjoyed here.

This place charges you based on how much they think they can get away with. I work on the same street as this pizzeria, and a few weeks ago I got lunch here only to find Id been overcharged by quite a bit. It seems this place will round up to the nearest dollar if you look like you wont notice. As a teacher, I definitely notice. I mentioned this overcharge to my coworkers and they all relayed similar stories. I asked my students (Im a teacher) what their experience with the place was and they said that they would be charged different amounts for the same lunch on different days. How about that, this place rips off children too. If you really must go here, ask for a receipt and check it against the menu. And it was the owner who ripped me off, so dont expect much to change anytime soon.

Great pizza! This was my first "New York" pizza experience and Im so happy that my family and I chose to go here! They had such a wide variety of pizza and other foods. The workers were all very nice and you can tell that they love their job because they were all joking around together. I got a slice of tortellini pizza and a slice of the grandpa pizza- both very delicious! Just a heads up, they only take cash. Although, they do have an ATM. Overall, the pizza and the environment were excellent.

the owner is not that friendly! We lost a handknit scarf there and called him, and he said yes he has it and asked him to keep it for us! Then when my son went to pick it up he said it is not here he doesnt know what happened! I called him to and he didnt even let me talk. He was very root and said he doesnt have it but he will look again and have a nice day, all in one breath! Very rude!

The service is great and the men that work there treat you like a.family. the pizza is amazing and they have a huge variety. They also have great Italian sandwiches and great pasta dishes that fill you up fully. They are great. They sometimes if they know you strongly will give you things for free.

Best pizza in town...Alex doesnt deliver because he doesnt have to: it is often crowded. Also, the atmosphere has zero charm. But the staff are friendly, Alex is a classic. Thumbs up for variety of menu and well executed grub.

I guess they have a wide variety, but I was a little disappointed by how doughy the pizza was and the chicken on top just seemed low quality. I want to like though, people from around here speak highly of it.

A little pricey but it is the best pizza place in Westchester and possibly in the New York area. It is easy to get to in Rye, NY. I highly recommend it.

Pizza is expensive and greasy in this downtown rye location. There is no parking and cash is king. There are better choices around.
