Was happy with the food and service the first time, the owner encouraged us to come back for Irish Fest. I was super stoked since my grandmother and grandfather are from Dublin and I was raised Roman catholic Irish. Would have loved to get in touch with my heritage. My boyfriend, myself and friends bought tickets to irish fest and booked a hotel room. We drove 2 1/2 hours. We rested a bit and then got ready for the show. I was super excited! Even though it was a weekday I felt confident all would be well. We got to Glawaybay around 6 pm when it started with our tickets. Needless to say the waitresses were overwhelmed and had no clue what was going on. We stood in line for 30 minutes before I finally asked what do people who bought tickets do? She stated nothing...you pretty much get nothing, zero, zip, zilch. I asked the waitress, why did I buy tickets if I got nothing? She stated...well your in? !She didnt even take the the tickets! Then we had to get into a seperate line to wait for "script" paper money to pay for food and drink (which was another give or take) 30 minutes. Oh wait...Then we had to get into another line for food and drinks... I could have went to my local bar paid a cheaper cover, would have had a waitress, and got table service..oh wait and my local hotel room would have been cheaper! SUPER disappointed! Ended up after an hour of waiting going to the bar across the street...spending the money we budgeted out for the trip there..later on we ran into people who bought VIP tickets to irish fest! Guess what? They had to do what us non VIP ticket holders had to do...made no difference. My advice...dont sell tickets you do not have capacity for! I wasted time and money I could have at the local pub who does irish music and dance weekly...this was not a show...it was a waste of time and money...not to mention the embarrassing moment I told my friends welp jokes on me.

I came here with my family for a birthday lunch. My parents had heard a lot about the place and their excitement was enough to convince me to give a try. I should have read the reviews first! When we got there, it was 11:51. We remember because we had discussed having beer before noon and had determined by the time we were settled and had looked everything over it would be after 12pm and ok for a beer. We were informed when we sat down that there was only one waiter working so there might be "a slight delay" since there was a scheduling issue and more waiters wouldnt be in at 1pm. There werent many others in the place so we figured it wouldnt be that big of a deal. We placed our order around 12:15 when the waiter/manager finally stopped by to take it. The waiter/manager stopped at our table once before the other wait staff arrived at 1pm to drop off our drinks 10 minutes after we ordered them. We waited. And waited. And at 1:15 the appetizers we ordered finally showed up. My husband had gotten onion rings - they arrived cold, limp, and extremely greasy. They looked like they had been grilled, not deep fried. My mom ordered a potato soup - and halfway through she found a long black hair (she has short red hair). I ordered the healthy fish and "salad" - which turned out to be shredded cole slaw and a huge handful of cheese. Fortunately my dad ordered the Irish breakfast and was happy. We had expected delays, but we watched others who had arrived and ordered after we had get their drinks and food refilled. It was a terrible experience, and deserves 0/5, but I will give 1 star for my dads enjoyable Irish breakfast.

The place was packed and we had to wait for a table. We were told that we could browse their gift shop and they would get us when it was our time. She took our name and we window shopped for a while. When she came into the shop to get another party, she acted surprised and told us our table was ready. On the way, she informed the person managing the list of an error, and to bump the other party back one spot. We waited about 15 minutes before making contact with the waitress. Despite being an Irish pub, we only had water. We then waited over an hour for our food. 5 minutes before it arrived, I became fed up, irritated, and told my husband it was time to go. He replied "and eat what?" and asked to wait another ten minutes. I ordered the chicken sandwich, and he ordered the clam chowder. He says his food was OK, but mine didnt taste good, and the portions were small. I weigh 110 pounds, so take that into perspective. The waitress obviously felt bad, and she probably apologized 15 times throughout the course of the evening. We considered leaving no tip, but unfortunately that would only hurt the waitress, and it wasnt her fault. One thing is for certain: Unless I want to waste my evening spending a long time being forgotten and waiting for disappointing food in a noisy environment, I wont be going there again. There is another pub/grill across the street we might try next time.

The food was good, I had the mac and cheese and a cup of the potatoe soup. The soup was a bit too creamy for my personal likes and salty but easily fixed with some pepper. My friends all enjoyed their dishes (the beef stew, the clams, the soda bread and fish sandwich, as well as the fish and chips), a little on the okay side not something to brag about. Our waitress was not attentive or customer service geared. She was on the younger side, snappy and never smiled. She seemed annoyed with us and hardly checked in, didnt answer our questions in a polite way or anything. She really made the experience less tasteful. Its a small town and youd think the wait staff would treat people better for better tips. Im from a remote tourist town in Alaska so I know about the seasonal work and the tourist but you should always be considerate and customer focused. The bar staff were way more easy going and polite and were friendly. If theres a next time Id definitely eat and drink in the bar section instead of the dining area.

I used to love this place. But we went there tonight and had a server who clearly was overwhelmed (he only had 5 tables, max). He was rushed, and kept making excuses for everything. He stated that the computer doesnt split checks correctly (we work in the restaurant industry and know this to be false. He clearly couldnt remember who had what and what check to put it on). I ordered a salad and it wasnt as stated on the menu. Apparently, different veggies are left off the small salad, again, not mentioned in the menu . My daughter ordered a French toast and he said that they dont serve it for dinner (no where on the the kids menu did it say anything about there being a time). To top it off, there was gum under the table thay stuck to my pants! I had to use a coster on the gum to keep it from sticking to me again. The food was great, but James, our server, needs to be retrained.
