Excellent dosa! Well done chai! Superb chicken tikka! The idlis are to die for! What else can I say -- if you like South Indian, this is the place to go. However, there are a few things that make this place not-quite-five-star. For starters, the dining room is exactly as pictured here -- dark. Not just dark, but darkity-dark-dark. You know what I mean -- saving on the electricity most likely. And the bathrooms are, well, dark -- and dingy. Ok, and the buffet can be a bit cold, and come to think of it, when you order a full thali dinner, well, the side curries seem like cold buffet leftovers. And sometimes they go a bit heavy on the salt. Oh, and the customers seem to segregate themselves - Indians in the bar, everyone else in the dining room. Kind of weird that way. Anyway, go for the food -- it really is worth it -- but dont expect a five star experience.

Great food and great service!! Preethi has quickly become one of my favorite Indian food restaurants! The selection of food is good, they have plenty to choose from, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. One of my favorite dishes is the Chicken Vendalu, thali style. The prices are reasonable and the value is great. You will definitely walk out feeling satisfied and wanting to come back!! Definitely a great restaurant, I highly recommend you try it if you havent!

The food here is fantastic. If youre a meat-eater, expect to taste the juiciest, most succulent chicken, lamb and goat dishes youve ever had. If youre vegan or vegetarian, theyve got your back too with some of the tastiest, most flavorful curries youll have outside of India itself. Oh, and the family who runs this are a bunch of kinds, hardworking, loving people. They treat you like youre part of their family. This is one of our go-to spots Davis spots, for sure.

Just hated this place so much that I wish to go back and give a shout at the management.. ultra slow service, average food taste, dosa prepared by someone who never knew how to make it, quantity of the curries were as though it was being served to kids (a small bowl !?). The waitress didnt know most of the dishes in menu, she looked as though we told her something new! The girl who gave us the bill was confused about what she had written in the bill !!

Seriously this place has the best Indian food. The service was great and the lunch buffet was incredible. Ive enjoyed indian food at a variety of restaurants but none has had the particular kind of amazingness abundant in every dish I tried at the buffet. Some foods to have: The Potato Cake things Also basically every chicken dish is mouth-wateringly good And the Naan- especially good naan bread here.

Ive heard good things about the lunch buffet here. We came as a group of 10 for dinner and ordered several dishes ala carte. My favorite was the chicken/paneer tikka masala (they had the exact same sauce, buttery and a little tingy and divine when paired with the super garlic naan). Cons: 1) portion size was super small for $10-13 per dish: 2) mango lassi tasted like mango purée, no yogurt

Preethis is amazing!! The food is to die for. My significant other and I go so often. All their dishes are really good Ive never had one I didnt like. Their buffet is good. Also this is one of the very few restaurants in the Davis area that serve south Indian foods. The owners are the kindest people when you get to know them. They recognize us by face.

07.11.2016 We tried Masal Dosa today. Very tasty. --------------- Some time earlier : Nice area, very tasty rasam. We tried Aaloo matar and Dal and really liked them. They are about to close when we reached, but they helped us with the food and even served it there itself ( most of the place asked you to take to go). See you some time soon.

I found it very unpleasant visually as well tastewise. The vegetable biryani tasted only of cilantro and the chicken curry was a pile of green mush. Hard to find the chicken and it didnt taste like curry at all. The menus were dirty and half the beers were crossed out leaving 2 to choose from. All in all I would never go back nor recommend to anyone.

we were travelling through Davis to Napa. On our stay in Davis we stopped for dinner at Preethi. For our surprise we experienced a really delicious food. All we order was really nice. The service was also satisfactory and we appreciate the owners taking our order late during dinner time. Thank you

Went there on Saturday while visiting UC-D ...... as it had good ratings on GOOG Buffet for $10.95 Tandoori Chicken was fresh/good Okra & other curries were old/not good Chicken 65 was soggy Salad choices - below average Desserts -OK Not worth a 2nd chance - try something else

The buffet is not that good. Although there are many items, they look and taste the same. The service is good, especially the old women is so kind, but her husband, the manager, sometimes treats her badly in front of the customers, like he yells at here. Overall, the restaurant is ok.

For a small town restaurant this is great eats. The lunch buffet which is what I have tried, is plentiful fresh and variated. Staff is friendly. Price is good. Its not the best Indian food Ive tried in my life, but its the best in town. I will come back many more times.

Good prices, friendly service, and the food is absolutely delicious. My favorite indian food restaurant in Davis. And their appetizer (similar to mexican chips and salsa, but a crunchy disc with multiple sauces) is fantastic

Food is excellent we ordered a delivery and all paid for even a tip. But delivery man refused to give a menu if he was not given a second tip! No menu in bag either as most places do. So always specify you want a menu.

Its the second time they accept our 6 person group just before their closing time. Nice. The menu is gigantic, as are the thally version of their dishes. They always bring lots of naans.

One of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been to in the US. Chicken biriyani and Goat curry are particularly delectable! Price for lunch buffet is unbeatable considering the spread.

We cane in at the start of a Thursday buffet service. Staff was very friendly and helpful at saying what everything was. No pressure to try something we didnt want. Would come again.

We tried 3 food Chicken 65. it was not what I expect no curry leaves, more oily Chilli chicken. It was ok some how Dosa. It was the main reason I was here, enjoyed masala dosa.

Like the lamb curry and biryani. Best in Davis! Can be a little more spicy. The ambiance and service is good. Buffet is worth the price.
