Extreme inconsistent. The last time we were here we ordered ice coffee and the server didnt tell us they didnt have it, so he poured hot coffee over ice. When confronted about it he was like "I didnt know what to do". Today they straight up forgot someone in our partys food, didnt put tomatoes on top of my biscuits and gravy for no reason and never checked on us. They brought us condiments after all of us finished our food. Portion sizes vary A LOT, even between people sitting at the same table. Food is good when its right, but its unfortunately been a very unpleasant experience the last few times we have eaten here for brunch.

My new favorite place in Richmond. Had a dinner for a large group and needed something at a reasonable price and with good food. Postbellum was exactly what I wanted. I tried a lot of the different things people ordered and enjoyed everything - sandwiches, apps, drinks. Ended up returning two days later for brunch. Only had one thing at brunch but I also enjoyed that. Service was good, particularly amazing at dinner when they handled our large and chaotic group very well. Restaurant has a nice feel to it, plenty of street parking outside, good drink selection. Go here!

The rooftop bar was nice, most of the bar staff was nice and attentive. The good (chiken wings, beef ribs and BLT salad) was ok. The chicken wings were very hot and needed to be cook a tad longer and the BLT salad was sadly missing the vast majority of the "B" and the "L" was gritty. I will go back and try other items on the menu before casting final judgment. 1 major dissapiontmet was I reserved through Open Table and because I wanted to sit on the rooftop the restaurant canceled my reservation and cost me the 100 point....disappointing.

Postbellum, an era of american history following the civil war. Also a great restaurant with a rooftop bar, lots of seating and a smaller room for more private dining. Almost everything is done in house or locally. The menu changes with whats in season. Try the watermelon salad while its on the menu. Great food and large portions for a reasonable price. The deck is ALWAYS OPEN. Ive drank up there in the rain. But beware more than half the deck is exposed to the elements. Plenty of spots at the bar tho.

I only had appetizers and they were very good and tasty. Im not to fund of the cloth couch in the inside and it didnt seem that sanitary to me and kind of out of place. I must say that it has a very relaxed and cozy atmosphere, yet more business casual attire is seen all around. However, the noise level gets sooooo loud that you cant hear the person sitting right next to you. Everyone SCREAMS over each other, which raised the noise level even more.

Postbellum is a pretty neat place to go with the rooftop scene, but it would be better if it didnt try so hard to be elite. It just comes off a bit snooty and I think the tone rubs off a little bit on the service and the customers too. I always want to come to just chill and look at the city, but the vibe is just a little too pretentious for me to really relax. At least it was the couple of times Ive been here.

My girlfriend and I came in around 1:30. There were 2 guests in the entire restaurant and they were seated at the bar. They had 5+ servers on staff and it took them 8-10 minutes to even offer water. The host was extremely short with us and it wasnt until the 2 guest at the bar left that the wait staff came to offer us water. If I could give no stars..I would.

Two blocks from our house. Always surprise me with their menu. The quality of food is good. Best times to go here is probably in the evening. Their brunch is quite ok, there are other places who can do better. But for me Im giving 5-star because I know when I go in the evenings, I always get good food and good ambience. And of course, good drinks!

Tasty food, although there are a limited number of entrées and when we went there were only two dessert choices. They have a vegetarian and vegan option. Friendly service. A boisterous environment that was quite loud. An interesting looking building.A really deep drink menu with a large variety of beers on tap, hard ciders, and unusual cocktails.

It had been a while since we were there last. The offerings for all dietary needs (meaty to vegan) were plentiful. We were there with a large party. We called ahead for a reservation. Even more impressive over many Fan and Downtown competitors was the separate check policy. So easy! The servers and management were terrific.

Eclectic menu with an extensive draft list set in a warm, inviting space with a rooftop bar that is great for hanging well into the night during the summer. Im especially partial to their Parmesan truffle fries & bourbon pecan starters, & have never had a main dish I didnt like-- at either brunch or dinner.

The food is very good, but come in small portions and is overpriced because of the size. The most annoying thing is that there as ALWAYS a really really long wait for everything- the table, the food. The rooftop is pretty cool though. I woukd say its good for drinks, not worth it for food.

A good place to stop in for a drink. They offer some unique appetizers. Some of the tables are small, but restaurant is divided, one side near the bar and high tables, and another with normal tables. Ive met a few groups here and it always goes well. Parking can be tricky though.

Their wings were really good. Charcuterie was really disappointing. Good service and vibe. Id go back again to try more food. Great beer selection for sure. Theyre one of the few places that serves amber ale. Unfortunately, they didnt have one on tap the night I went.

Rooftop bar has weird rules about who gets most of the tables... you have to order food. Because of the set-up you have to order food to sit in the sun. All bar seats are in the shade and cramped. Food is pretty good. Very good beer selection.

One of my favorite happy hour places in the city. The rooftop is perfect for a drink from spring to fall. Every bartender I have had was so cool - fast, attentive and engaging. One of the best beer selections and half off Virginia drafts for HH.

Overall, it was pretty good. My only problem was the inconsistency of the different dishes. Some portions were solid, and some were just straight up scant. $27 for a tiny steak. I probably wont be back for dinner, but maybe for a cocktail.

Ordered the barbecued tofu, and it was spectacular. Every bite from it, the collard greens, the grits, and the mushrooms was a rich flavor that practically exploded on your tongue. Unique decor and friendly service.

The starters were good but a tiny $27 flatiron steak was very disappointing. I never leave google reviews and this is my first ever but I felt I needed to write a review because I paid so much for a small steak.

Checked out the rooftop this time. Lively, young and hip crowd up top. Really enjoyed the BBQ platter that had really really good brisket. Pulled pork is good too but the brisket is at another level.
