I surely will not be returning to Del Rio in Leesburg. Food was not any good. Correction, the rice was good. The meat for the tacos/nachos Im certain was from a can. The refried beans were too. The pico was old, was refrigerated at too low of a temperature and the cilantro was very bruised/wilted/borderline bad. When I dont finish fajitas, theres a problem. My husband didnt eat but one of his tacos. (Hell eat about anything...) When the waitress asked if we needed a box, bc virtually nothing was touched, I told her no, and told her we didnt like the meal. (I complimented the nachos and rice. The nachos were /ok/.) I did this very politely and advised her we were finished. She smiled and started to clear the table. (No language barrier, she speaks perfect English.) She brought the check. $40 for food we did not eat. When I asked for a discount she advised she would check w the manager. She yells for the manager for a discount as she walks back to the bar. THE DISCOUNTED BILL WAS ALREADY PRINTED. The manager did not come over. No one asked what was wrong with the food nor asked if the situation could be fixed. The sheer lack of customer service, not even a shred of concern, has me mind blown. My husband commented while we were seated that Chef Ramsey needs to come visit. Im pretty sure that the ingredients that came to the table that come canned or bagged, were. They gave me 15% off. It wasnt enough but I didnt argue it. I wont return, and Ill advise others to steer clear. (The real kicker? The wait staff sitting at the bar, where the manager was, were saying very rude things about my husband and I bc we complained. They didnt bother to speak quietly as they were under the assumption that I do not speak spanish. Well, I do, and I understood every word.) Here we are hours later and Im still blown away at how unconcerned the manager was, and that he allowed the employees to speak badly about a customer on the floor, clearly within earshot of everyone in the restaurant.

This place isnt the worst ive had but not the best either. The beans tasted like they were from a can along with the enchilada sauce and the carne asada had more of a sweet flavor to it than what im used to. Im part Mexican and also have been SPOILED with AMAZING mexican food from southern california and when we moved out here to Virginia i have been in search of good mexican food and have yet to find anything decent. Any new mexican place im stupidly willing to try always dissapoints so i always test their enchiladas. This is a very, VERY simple dish to make especially the enchilada sauce but again, theirs tasted canned. I asked the waiter what kind of cheese they put inside and it was white cheddar. Now, that is not the kind of cheese you put in enchiladas, at all. usually, at the least, its monterey jack but preferably good mexican cheese but i asked for monterey jack and they didnt have any. SOOOOO i had to take cheddar cheese which i thought would be better but this thing was stuffed to the brim with cheese then covered in cheese, it was gross, way too much cheese! the rice was pretty good, beans tasted canned. My husband got the carne asada and i just hate when its marinated in a sweet sauce, almost like bbq and that just is not right. prices to me were overpriced, quality of food wasnt that great and I can just tell its not authentic mexican food. I really hate when el salvadorian food is labeled as mexican and they pawn it off that way to get customers when they truely dont cook it the right way. dissapointing, adding it on the list of places to avoid.

Food at Del Rio is OK; however, we will never go back! Be warned-if you use a coupon they will try to get the money back somehow. On our last visit a white board listed "Wednesday Special Half Price Margaritas". We ordered one, and two lunch buffets. We ate and provided a coupon "Buy 1 Buffet at regular price, get 1 Free". We were told we could not use this since we received a half price margarita and the coupon could not be combined with other offers. Apparently the margarita was considered an offer. Upon speaking with the manager, he said this was their policy and we could pay full price for the drink to apply the coupon. They also indiscriminately charge for a 2yr old to eat the buffet and don’t list a policy (turns out if the child eats off their own plate you are charged but if off a parents plate you are not). Lastly, we ordered a "Fajita for Two" and got 5 small tortillas. We were told we had to buy more if we wanted them. How do you split 5 small tortillas between 2 people?

My first time here. Staff and manager very friendly, professional and accommodating! Giovanni let me test the salsa and guac before I bought for an office baby shower for my friend. Ambiance very festive and colorful. Salsa the best! A little kick but not too much...perfect. Guac the best Ive ever had. Have not tried the food because Im not really a fan of Mexican but saw food being brought out and something for everyone. They have shrimp cocktail that looks great and they are very large. Prices are very reasonable. Went to Anitas across the street first. They say they have a catering menu but the largest container for salsa they have is about 8 ounces. JOKE!!! Heard the fish tacos are awesome here and cant wait to try. Highly recommend!!!

The food was not very good but the waiter was terrible. I was done with my meal and the waiter came and took my food and then brought me the bill. I had my money out and waited and waited and he never came back. After about 15 minutes I went inside and he was sitting down playing a game on his cell phone. An older man behind the counter named Hubert, who I think was the manager, told me to pay him. I gave him the cash and he pulled out a roll of bills from his pocket and gave me my change from this. Never rang it up on a register and it all felt so ghetto-like. I wonder if the owner knows he is not ringing up sales, instead putting the money directly in his pocket.

While Im not an expert on Mexican food, I know what I like. Sure, there is only One Torilla Factory, but this comes pretty close. I love that the staff recognizes regular customers and even if theyre not waiting on them will stop and chat if they recognize someone. This tells me that the employees are not micromamaged and actually enjoy and have some freedom in their job. I also love the outdoor seating. Not too many places that do that in Leesburg and thats a shame. My go-to dish? The Chimi de-Oro. I get this every time I go, which is at least once a month.

My family loves Del Rio. The food is good, the price is right, and the atmosphere makes you feel at home. If you enjoy sipping wine and expecting your folks and knives to be properly placed around your plate, this isnt the place for you. But if you are the average everyday folks who enjoy a decent meal for a decent price and need a place where your kids can be kids and nobody cares, this is your hometown restaurant.
