This is by far one of the worst resturants Ive been in. The host never gave eye contact to welcome us in and then he ended up being our waiter which he was terrible and not efficient. The food was mediocre and bland as we ordered the steak, chicken and shrimp fajitas for two. They ran out of guacamole so it was not part of our meal as guacamole is by far one of my favorite sides to eat. The only positive, the chips were perfect; crisp and warm but the salsa seemed to be something straight out of a jar, a bit watered down with no chunks as it seemed to be put in a blender. The bathrooms were disgusting and outdated. The seat booth we sat in was ripped, old and tight as I was unable to even cross my legs under the table and mind you, Im a thin build. The atomopere was very dim. I was surly disappointed as I was so hungry for Mexican food. I went a few days ago to El Paso in Woodbridge and that resturant was much better than this one in Fredericksburg. I was told by a very good friend, the El Paso in Arlington is the best. I will try it when I go in that direction.

Our family has been going to Pinos on a regular basis ordering 4-5 times a month the same meals, plus we had referred our friends to go there.. I called for take out tonight trying to order the same thing I have ordered in the past. The person was rude taking my order and hung up the phone on me. I arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes later and asked to speak to the person who was taking the phone orders. I told him that he deliberately hung up on me, but insisted it was an accident. I then asked to speak to the manager/owner who was friendly and took my order, I offered to pay for the meal explaining I didnt want a free meal, but he insisted it was on them. When I got home the meal was dried out and the sauce looked burnt and I just ended up throwing the food away. From now on our family will start going back to El Charros even though it further away from our home.

LISTEN TO ME: if you want good Mexican food this is your place. Period. Every time I move somewhere new I struggle to find good Mexican food. THIS PLACE IS THE REAL DEAL AND IT IS DELICIOUS. I had the chicken nachos and carne asada tacos and they left me lost for words. The salsa was actually good salsa and not "ketchup/salsa". The dishes were clean, the tables were clean and even though they were packed the service was still top notch. The customers were of all ages and it was a good atmosohere/crowd. I would go back here 10 times out of 10 and I would be down to try anything on their menu by how good that food was.

I thought it was overall great! Wife ordered the Carne Verde meal, i got steak fajitas, one kid got taco kids meal, and the other got quesadilla kids meal and all the meals were great with excellent meal portions for the dollar. The only setback was that the pre-meal tortilla chips were stale and hard but the salsa was excellent. Seeing how i didnt really "pay" for the chips i cant really discount the overall meal. The service was excellent as well as our host was very playful and nice towards my family and I. I definitely recommend as i can see myself coming back to this establishment.

El Pino aka El Paso is one of our favorite places in Fredericksburg! We have never been disappointed in the food or service. We typically go on a weekday when its not crazy busy. This past week we went on a Friday evening, we will never go on a Friday PM again, it was loud, we were seated by the kitchen so the traffic was heavy, the blender was loud. Our Server even though she was busy was very accomadating. The chips were warm and fresh! When we move this spring out of state we will miss El Pino!

My husband and I are longtime patrons of El Pinos in Fredericksburg, VA. We typically go to dinner every Friday night and many times choose El Pinos. It is a family restaurant. Authentic and delicious Mexican fare. Owner is wonderful and clearly has the best interest of each of her restaurants patrons at heart, always. Food, service and atmosphere... all top of their game! We recommend El Pinos to anyone who appreciates all of this. Go!!! You will become loyal patrons too!!!

The management needs to look into hiring a new cook. I gave them 3 chances in one visit for one simple entre, and my order was messed up all 3 times. Not only that, but my husbands fajita order came in 3 trips. waiter brought the salad, beans, and rice dish 1st. 7min later came the fajitas. another 8min later came the tortillas. fajita def got cold by the time complete entre was delivered. at last, it took 18min to get the bill after telling the waiter.

This place is horrible. I read all these reviews and was excited to give this place a try. The food was disgusting and bland. The bathrooms were filthy. The booths and floors were filthy. It was dark and dull inside: not well lit like the picutre above suggests (probably to hide all the dirt and grime on everything). Yes, the service was fast...but I think that is because the food isnt seasoned or freshly prepared. Very disappointing experience.

We come here often and I highly recommend it if you love Mexican food. They have some excellent prices. Like 3.99 lunch specials. The wait staff has always been kind and polite. Guacamole is so good. My favorite is their deep fried chicken chimichangas. It comes with rice and beans. Free fresh salsa and chips upon being seated too. After eating here theres no way I can enjoy another Mexican restaurant.

This is the best Mexican food in Fredericksburg! My daughter and I have been eating here for years and would never go elsewhere. The owner is fantastic, everyone is incredibly friendly and we are always greeted with a smile. The food arrives quickly, the service has always been outstanding and the menu prices are more than reasonable. We always have a great dining experience!

The best Mexican in Fredericksburg hands down... Theyre shredded chicken is so amazing. The only thing they dont have that I wish they did is the "white sauce" some Mexican places give with the chips and salsa. But this is mine and my fiances favorite local place to go when we want to meet up for a quick bite to eat for lunch or dinner. They never disappoint.

I had never considered eating at this restaurant until I joined a friend there for dinner the other night. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, affordability of the prices, and friendliness of the staff. As others have said, its not a fancy place, but its clean and well taken care of. Oh, and the margaritas: to die for! A must try!

I absolutely love this restaurant, Ive been coming here with my mother for the first half since 2010 or 2011, then I told my father to come with us and he loves it, the service is amazing and the owners love my family. Its my favorite restaurant in the whole world. Such amazing food and waiters and waitresses. Keep up the good work.
