They really blew it. I was a semi-regular for a while, thought the food was decent and the staff friendly. Sushi was good and liked the sushi chef a lot. We never really had a problem before tonight. We called and asked if there was availability for four at around 6:30 and were told yes, come and "be seated right away" by the staffer that answered the phone. (We were five minutes away on 29.) We were hungry, and with a pregnant friend and her husband in tow we began our Seinfeldian odyssey. We walked in and noticed a larger party in the waiting area, some vacancy in the hibachi tables, We were greeted by "Gina", who said five minutes. She then asked us to sit at the sushi bar to wait. The place started filling up, and I asked after ten minutes Gina if there would be a problem with getting us seated. "I guarantee fifteen minutes, youll see," she affirmed, offering us a drink while we waited. They turned two tables as we waited, we watched in increasing horror as we were bypassed for diners who had arrived after us. Were we forgotten? Gina assured us that those diners had made reservations "weeks before", were late for their reservation, and in "Osaka" logic given our table. Forty minutes in, with no table in sight, I asked a final time as to our status. Gina pointed to a table with diners recently seated and said that we would be next (45 mins. to an hour by my guess.) Obviously no longer willing to wait, we stormed out. Tell me you have nothing available. Tell me you will seat late over-sized parties before us. Tell me we have no chance of getting served and I will obliviously make better use of my time and come back at a later date. We were lied to to get us into the restaurant, lied to after we got there, and now lost as a customer forever.

So there I was, left for death in Shelby TWP. Nay I could not find myself a proper sashimi smith. I was as a martyr of Masada, left to die alone. Yet who would save me in this most dire and horrible place? Lo and behold! Osaka delivered me from my hellish peril! I walked through the dark oaken doors and beheld a wonderland of the orient. An amicable waiter instantly attended me and quoth he said to me Welcome to Osaka, nay paradise. He then handed me a $100 bill and told me we were as brothers. The food, oh the food! I could have gorged myself to eruption on their food. That Elysium symposium of strange flavors that danced a macabre tang across my tongue and into my mind where they would never again be forgotten. Soaring across the winds of mount Olympus itself I was as a god, feasting on that stuff of legends that men call Ambrosia and Nector. The coquettish waitress, supreme in her naive beauty, used some sort of black magic and read my mind as pages in a book before I even entered the place and had my gastronomic symphony steaming on the table, a dream within a dream. The mana of the gods was unparalleled. When the bill came around I instead of finding money, found my wallet filled to the brim with winning lottery tickets and gold bouillon. Pieces of eight and gold doubloons, a pirates dream! The owner walked over and handed me the deed for the restaurant and asked for my hand in marriage. We live on the coast now, we sometimes talk about the food days. Oh those sweet memories where he would bath me in teriyaki and whisper sweet nothings to me.

I come here often for lunch, since their lunch special prices are decent for the amount and type of food youre getting. I always order filet mignon, double fried rice, and a side of chicken and walk out spending 20 bucks. Thats not too shabby for Japanese Steakhouse! My only con is that sometimes during lunch you have to sit and wait for an unreasonable amount of time because they want to seat as many people as possible at your table. Which can take time. But overall I love this place, the food is ah-maz-ing! Staff is always friendly, too!

Stopped by for the lunch special with my parents and little boy. The table they were going to sit us at was very crowded with small children and adults. If we sat there it was going to be very uncomfortable. I asked to sit at another table and was rudley told that is where we must sit. I have spent alot of money there on numerous occassions and expect the small favor of allowing us to sit at another table. I will never eat there with my family again! F#@* them and their business!

Morons close at random time during the middle of the day. Show up a few minutes after 2 pm and they would not seat us. Been there many times and the food is good, but this is just stupidly frustrating when I bring someone from out of town. Go to the one in Warrenton, its 15 minutes away! Much better service and better food too! Plus they are actually open at the hours you would expect them to be open!!!!!

After being seated we waited 20 mins and nobody ever came to the table to greet us or take a drink order. We finally walked out and passed by 3 employees on the way, none of which stopped to ask why we were leaving. Eneded up goin to SUMO off Irongate rd in Manassas and had water, Large saki and soup in 5mins! We will be going to SUMO for now on!!!

Salad dressing was awesome, tempura was perfect, and the fried rice delicious. They have excellent yum-yum sauce (not the watery stuff you get some places). The sushi was great too! This was a pleasant little accident, as we stumbled across it on a road trip.

the food is too expensive, even with the amazing entertainment. I think the service, food prep should be faster, and the food could have some more flavor. but the staff and chefs are very accomodating

My husband and I have been Osaka for years now. We love everything from the hibachi to the sushi. They take very good care of their customers with the added bonus of the quality of the food.

Horrible service! Absolutely horrible. I would rather drive to Tysons then wait 30 minutes for water and hour for two Suchi Rolls ... My advice: go some place else.

The food was great and the Chef put on a great show. However the waitress was unattentive and need to be reminded to refill drinks and provide additional napkins.

No go! $5 EXTRA for double veggies no rice? Childs drink costs same as adult drinks? Then our scallops were raw? Ick!
