Summary: The portions are small and the food is pricey, but the atmosphere is good and the food was surprisingly delicious! When I first stepped into Mikette, I was overwhelmed by the difference in atmosphere to the restaurant that previously operated in their location. This new bistro proved to be an improvement and a delight to experience. Owner Adam Baru made a wise decision on delaying their opening in favor of improving their menu and completing their renovations. Our trip to Mikette was for my sisters birthday celebration with her, myself, and two others. I tried to get her to try oysters for the first time by ordering one of their oyster shots, which sounded quite interesting and adventurous. Maybe next time. My meal consisted of the Eggplant Tagine, which is a small dish that consists of a bed of refreshing cucumber lemon couscous and tomatoes. These are topped with eggplant and cumin yoghurt for a truly delightful experience. Why did I only give Mikette four stars? While their atmosphere and food was brilliant, their prices were a bit much for the portion sizes. A $40 dish should be able to fill two, as one of my group members said. Another was unimpressed by the crème brûlée dessert. Otherwise, we had no complaints.

We went for lunch arrived at 1:30 and it was almost empty. We ordered two starter Plates and three soups. Considering the price for the salmon pate and the cheese and meat plate they was a bit miserly. The food was ok.. Onion soup was intense , full flavored but a bit salty.. and the strawberry soup was interesting but also strange. Garlic and Strawberry?? But, with all restaurant experiences the quality of service can make or break a meal. The food can be quite outstanding but if service is lacking the opinion of the food suffers. Towards the end of our meal the waitress was off talking with some customers across from us and didnt once look up to see if we needed anything. We had talked about doing dessert but since we would have needed to be gross and wave or do something to get her attention we gave up on the idea. Also, the "fellas" from the kitchen who brought out the food showed little interest in the food,,, just put it down and quickly walked away,. it was all very disappointing since the owners of this restaurant also own two others in town that are quite fine..

I was recommended to Try this restaurant by a friend. It was a wonderful decision. From to start to finish the entire experience was amazing our server was nice and very knowledgeable of the menu in drinks and had great suggestions. I tried the muscles and lobster bisque to start. the lobster bisque was very unique they brought all of the ingredients warm in a bowl and poured the bisque directly on top of them. The muscles were in a nice white-wine sauce with Sun dried tomatoes served with French bread. My wife and I actually asked for more bread so we could finish the white-wine sauce in the bottom of the bowl. I Filet with mash potatod for dinner as my wife was already full. The Steak was cookedTo perfection And was very flavorful cannot wait to have another one. sorry I did not take any photos, I will have to next time. I was so hungry I forgot to and just dug right in.

Intended on Cardamom for dinner but they were closed for construction so we went next door. On previous visit it was a date night dinner but this time we were very casually dressed and desperate for food. We got a table quickly and service was good. I love the Moroccan meatballs and beet salad which did not disappoint. The wine is good and not expensive. The charge for bread service at $2.50 but its totally worth it. They serve a large baguette from Zingermans and it really was excellent! My husbands steak was okay and one of his oysters had bits of shell so he was unhappy but the rest were good. We will visit again. 3 glasses of wine plus food cost around $88.00 so with tip over $100! Not a cheap dinner for two.

Atmosphere was nice and wait staff were very knowledgeable. Food was good but extremely heavy. Loved their fresh seafood menu items but most of the French menu items we tried were slightly too heavily flavored and buttery to eat without some bread or bland sides. Would recommend eating less quantity than normal due to how dense their food is. Felt like I had a rock in my stomach for several hours after.

Upscale Big Mac "Le Mec" is a must have. Crazy good. Amazing depth and range of flavors in all small plates I have tried as well, from ratatouille, to moroccan meat balls. Mussels were sublime. Sunday night Fried Chicken is some of the finest I have had. Great hosts and waitstaff. Also one of the chillest vibes certainly in this part of town (and ranking up there in the whole city).

One of our favorite places, and it is great that we now have some stellar restaurants on the north side of town. Of several meals there, I had only one negative experience--mussels that were "off." But easy to exchange for something else. Salads are great. And so is the ratatouille--superb.. I have a feeling they have some smart French mice working in the kitchen.

Mikette is a fabulous place. Their menu is not large but everything they make is delicious. Salads are amazingly fresh and delicious. Their French onion soup is great. They make the best vodka giblets and have clams and oysters. They have two outdoor patios, one enclosed with screening and the other open air. The owner is often on site and very friendly.

Mikette has very good food in the tradition of a French bistro. They have modern twists, such as forest mushrooms with a curry sauce. The service is attentive. The wine list is mostly French, with most bottles costing between $40 and $60. The weak point is the noise level. Even when the restaurant is only half full, it is loud.

As a North Campus resident I was excited at the prospect of a new restaurant opening up. Unfortunately Mikette misses the mark. With expensive + small portion sizes and extended waits between the appearance of the 3 dishes ordered, I left hungry and a little bit confused as what the intended experience was supposed to be.

We had a fine experience with the food we ordered, but the night we were there was busy and they were sold out of a few things wed hoped to try. The wait in the front was tricky as well since there isnt much of a space to walk or move. I recommend making an early evening reservation and youll be very happy!

We all enjoyed our food. Service was a little off, being a French restaurant with the server not knowing what is Dijon mustard. They were filming some kind of commercial or promotion and as we walked through/around the staff engaged in that project, we all noticed how impatient and rude they were to us.

We stopped in for appetizers and a drink. The place is decorated well, had great staff, and the food is the real treat. Had the chicken soup, ravioli, and a salad. Excellent! Looking forward to going back since talking with other customers there is nothing that is bad on the menu and I believe it. Yummy!
