Ive dined at this restaurant for 12 years as my 3 kids attended college at VT and Radford and I have never had a terrible experience like last Saturday night. It was a birthday event and a party of 7. I made reservations and we were on time. We were seated in a prompt fashion and our waitress was very cordial and efficient with our drinks, soup and salad. Thats when it all went wrong. From the time we finished our salad to the time our chef appeared, over an hour passed by! We had a apologetic visit from our waitress during that time saying that they were short on cooks and someone would be right out with our order. I think that it was close to the 45 minute point with some guy appeared at our table with an ill-fitting black and gold jacket and an imitation Fonz haircut. He never identified himself but I assumed he was the manager. He told me he was sorry that we were waiting so long, mumbled something about a new head chef and then told me he couldnt do anything about our situation except give us some free appetizers because he had just learned about our wait. I guess it was my fault that I didnt complain. Maybe his policy is to complain to get service??? 15 minutes later he returned again and I asked for my check so we could leave. He made some comments about band aids for the problem, etc. Just as we were about to get up a chef appeared, maybe the head chef, and without much fanfare he had our meal ready in 10 minutes. We waited another 10 minutes after dinner to get our check. Were they wondering how to handle the situation? Finally a lady in a Kimono appears with our checks, identified herself as the manager and gave us cards offering us 10% off our next visit. I wonder who will use those discounts....not me. By the way, the appetizers appears half way through the meal and the Fonz, or Elvis?....he must have left the building. He wasnt around to say goodnight. This was a really terrible experience for my daughters 19th birthday family celebration. Sad.

What a great place. Strong style, wild night sky ceiling, Koi pond, great bar, a spacious dining hall with private hibachi rooms and group hibachi tables, a gorgeous sushi bar, great service, and great food at amazing prices. The Teriyaki Chicken Hibachi dinner is: soup, a simple broth, salad, small but sufficient with nice dressing (carrot ginger- never tried the others) shrimp appetizer at the beginning of the "cooking show", fire tricks, laughs, vegetables, fried rice, and protein of you choice. 14.95 I take a family of five and exit for $80 with tip. What a deal for a big meal and a fun show. I must have been fifty times over a decade and once I had a dish that was too salty, otherwise consistent very good food that I could not make at home. Mmmmm. I want to go now just thinking about it! Sushi is very good, perhaps not world class, but the best I know of in a seventy-five mile circle. I never had a bad piece from them, and the sake is reasonably priced... bonus.

Our waitress was very unpleasant. My meal was $45 for just myself. The rice was not done it was still very crunchy, I got well done steak that was mushy and pretty much the only vegetable I got was onions with an overload of sesame seeds. I got a shirley temple that was all cherry juice and no sprite and the sprite that was in there was totally flat. I got fried sushi that was soft and not crunchy at all. Probably one of my worst hibachi/sushi experiences ever. my food was definitely not worth $45

Be careful !!!! 18% of tip is included on bills in the sushi section, but the restaurant does not inform it to customers clearly. There is a tiny notice on a wall informing inclusion of tips. An itemized receipt includes an item "18 % AUTO", but it does not say it is a tip. Waitresses do not inform it customers, either, unless customers ask. A bill has an item for tip expecting additional tip, but the bill does not say the amount includes tip.

For a larger group you have a grand room for your enjoyment. The food is okay for an average dining experience, but not for the better taste of more defined palettes. I enjoyed to sushi, but not the small cuts to the value. Wine selection is limited two five per "color". Modest.. But to be desired in a large a town as Christianburg, VA. Staff was friendly when not rushed.

Love this place! Their food is really good! A lil pricey but well worth it. If you dont have time for the show just hit the lounge area. Quick service. Patrick and Laney are awesome at the bar. Always friendly and helpful with the menu and drink ideas. Try Patricks dragons breath shot and no not the fufu one on the menu. Lol

Absolutely exceptional Japanese dining in a space that could be found in Japan the building style the decor the appointments like a Japanese garden and Japanese artifacts make this a visually andalong with stellar food a gastronomically again exceptional dining experience. Are six stars allowed?

Great show and food. Went to Kabuki on a Monday night late expected to get bad service and the worst cook. The reverse happened got the best cook and the food was excellent the cook tossed 5 shrimp consecutive to one person with no drops had to be a record.

The food is good but the problem is that its too salty. Since it is a Japanese steak house, its hard to measure the amount of salt you pour, so its understandable. However, its a bit pricey. The show can be great or boring depending on which cook you get.

Sushi is probably one step up from the stuff you get at a grocery store and youre going to pay alot for it. Portions are small. However, the Hibachi is excellent so as long as youre not going for sushi this place is really a good decision.

Very disappointed with food, taking a lot of short cuts meaning small portions and watered down dressings and soup but still high prices. Spoke with manager and he just debated with our feedback. Find somewhere else!

My wife and I celebrated our 7th anniversary at kabuki. It was an awesome experience. The service and food is excellent...and the cook, Micheal, was very good, and extremely funny! Highly recommend a visit.

Great hibachi restaurant. The chefs are excellent and engaging, and the food quality is top notch. There is a big room to wait for a table to open, and definitely expect a wait during peak times.

The food was delicious! We get shrimp tempura every time we go. The steak, shrimp,& chicken are all really good. I would recommend this restaurant. Best place weve eaten in the new river valley.

Traditional Japanese upscale place, Teppanyaki. The chefs are incredibly talented. Here dining is not the only experience that one would get. Needless to say food was absolutely fantastic.

Its a fun experience. The food is good but nothing special. The prices are very high considering what youre getting. So, its basically no different than every other Hibachi restaurant.
