im staying at the hilton and me and the wife wanted hibachi and sushi. i spoke to the guy at the front and he had no clue where to go so i went to shogun. i figure theres lots of them and ive never been to a bad one right.. well we got there and the place kind of smelled greasy like a fast food chinese greasy. we got our seat at a table and ordered the teriyaki chicken and i ordered sushi. the chopsticks were the normal kind (bamboo in a paper package) and when i opened them they were incased in mold. (which meant they were at a table soiled but not used, wiped off then placed back in rotation) it was gross. when i gave them to the waitress she quickly took them and laughed very casually. at this point i was nervous but with a new baby me and the wife neveer go out and i didnt want to ruin it for her. our food comes sushi was good ill give them that. i notice my wife isnt into the chicken. i try it and its cold. we say something to the waitress and she offered to heat it up in the microwave. we took the check and for the first time in my life i didnt give a tip. on the way out i spoke to the manager but i dont think he really understood english that well. so we took it for a loss. sushi was okay but service and cleanliness was pretty bad. it was also very loud.

Not too many options as in salad dressings, when ordering a hibachi dinner (when they cook in front of you) you get a salad, soup, and entree, didnt have a choice on soup, was just given soup, and didnt have a choice on salad dressing. Was given a nasty dressing I did not care for whatsoever! And the entree, when the cook was cooking it, he did not cook it to where it all came out at the same time. So, needless to say, by the time my plate was full, the food he put on my plate first to last was cold, not steaming hot like I think it should be. And I am a cook!

This place used to be so good, however that has changed and not for the better. The floor is very sticky, the menus are sticky and needless say dirty, it even looked like there was food on the walls. Our chef was dirty, and pulled out this figurine that squirts out water like its peeing, tacky vey tacky. The food was so so, you used to get more, my steak was tough and not very good same with the chicken and shrimp. The whole hibachi setting used to be an art form now its like a mock art form and a lot of noise. Really isnt the same anymore, such a shame...

Worst experience!! Went in expecting to eat good food but instead I left with an empty stomach. I found hair in my food and my cousin did also. Smh. Then I knew I should have left the hair in my food for the manager to see because the hibachi chef pulled it immediately. Then he lied and said he never seen the hair, they tried to make me pay. Yeah right, not a chance. Horrible service, managers inconsiderate. The manager had the nerve to fuss at her emploees right in front of us. Needs to be shut down. Never again.

Shogun has gone terribly downhill. The setting is old, worn and dirty. I felt like I needed to go wash my hands after handling the menu. I knew that we should walk out but we were all starving after day of shopping. I kept hoping that it would get better. The soup was bland. The salad was rusty and the dressing was not appealing at all. The hibachi prep was fun but the chef had little personality and the food tasted like pure soy sauce. Dont go!

Disgusting and dirty. Chefs unskilled and food varies from poor to disgusting. We return every once in awhile hoping it will taste like it did before years ago but instead of being the best hibachi in the world that it was prior, it is now the worst. Which is fitting for Monroeville which once was a nice thriving fairly crime free area.

This is an hibachi style restaurant. The chefs are well-trained to do the cooking as well as the juggling act with the utensils and the quick preparation of the food. There was plenty of food and its left from watching chef. The restrooms are clean. Be careful not to get drunk on sake.

The cooks are friendly, food is ok, dont order sushi. They use very little fish in their rolls. If you go, read the fine print on the menu: if your group is smaller than 4 people, then an 18% tip is automatically included in your check!

This place is a rundown dump. They charged 8 dollars for my 2 year old to eat a couple bites of rice. Food was nasty and the cook had a personality of the dead fish floating in the stream by the bar. The place just is a over priced dump

Horrible place dark and creepy. Food is disgusting better off at yokoso or ichiban. When I told the manager I was unsatisfied they were mad at me like I cooked the nasty food. We left and didnt eat there terrible place to eat.

The atmosphere for this restaurant is comfortable, but what makes this my favorite Japanese steakhouse is the quality of the meals. I have never had a bad meal at Shogun, and its a real treat having them cook in front of you

Great Japanese food at a hibachi style restaurant. The staff is super friendly. The lunch prices and specials are pretty good. But, the dinner prices are a little high. But, the quality of the food makes it totally worth it.

First hibachi experience. The food was pretty good. I was told the show was subpar (I could tell the chef was really focusing on cooking), but it was still cool for my first time. Definitely wanna do hibachi again.

Watch out for food poisoning. Made the mistake of having a work outing there for lunch. Found out the hard way that we did not have enough toilet stalls in the building after returning to work. Enough said.

I went in the other day for lunch and was not disappointed. Food was excellent, prices were very reasonable, and the atmosphere was lively. I had a very enjoyable experience and would definitely go again.

Beautiful building. The service was awful. The steak and lobster were completely over cooked. The hibachi chef had no idea what he was doing. Our waitress acted like extra napkins was too burdensome.
