We have been to the location by Tanger several times and had a great experience. But a few things bothered me at this location. Upon entering I couldnt find menus located anywhere. They have them placed at the front and past the registers where you effectively wont even see them till after you have ordered your food and are on your way to the soda machine... If you happen to already know where they keep their menu holder then you will likely have to excuse yourself past other patrons in line to order or waiting for their food. Now going through that effort when they have big screen TVs at the front displaying the menu might seem trivial, except for the fact that the menus text is too small for anyone to read unless they happen to already be at the register ordering. Otherwise the screen is still effectively blocked by the way the cooking area extends out from the register area. The point is that almost every customer who makes it to the register is only just then getting to see the menu and thus has to spend time deciding on what they would like to order and holding up the line because someone wasnt bright enough to place some menus by the door... The soda machine looked dirty and was spitting out pieces of congealed soda sugar (at least I hope thats what it was...) probably because no one cleans it. They forgot to give us soy sauce in our sushi order. There were no plastic cups for the extra sauces and the chopsticks were literally hidden behind some over sized plastic utensils holder... The ceiling tiles were really grimy and water stained and generally looked gross. The woman at the grill wasnt wearing a hair net. No issues with the food. It was good. No hair found, and I was looking for it which is a negative considering that I couldnt help looking for it...

I have only ordered the teriyaki chicken but its always been great. If you get a chance, try the bacon rice. It is top notch. The sushi is good too. This place offers quick service, good food, at a good value. Sure there are better places for hibachi style food but not for this price.

Food is the best Japanese in Charleston!! Just prepare to wait if you go at lunch time, as the office workers are usually placing orders for the entire office!!! Other than that off peak times you are in and out and food is always delicious whether is busy or slow!

Ordered Angus hibachi steak and teriyaki ahi tuna. Steak was definitely not Angus and the tuna wasnt tuna. Worst sushi I have ever experienced. Poor quality and taste. Why go to a place like this when an awesome place like Katsu is only 6 minutes away?

Food was good, but brought my kids age 1 and 3, and they wouldnt give me cups with lids for them, made me buy 2 regular drinks at regular price just so my kids could have cups with lids, by the way kids were only drinking Water!

Mediocre sushi for mediocre prices. Definitely NOT the best sushi in charleston, thatd probably have to go to Yokoso or Tsunami downtown. Its also very fast foodish, so if thats what youre looking for, this place is passable.

Charging for sause togo really? Dine in can have as much free sause as you want, but togo is charged for the same sause and cups . So basically you are being charged for the lids.
