For fried chicken and potato wedges, this is the best take out in Charlottesville. The mashed potatoes are not bad although they are powdered and they oversalt. Their green beans are terrible - canned, mixed with mystery meat, overcooked and way over-salted. Do not make that mistake. They do not have collared greens either. Supposedly they have good macaroni. If you have that urge to indulge and your health is of no consequence, then you will enjoy a meal from Wayside.

I was there and my 15 year old Daughter was with me and the 2 young guys about in there ealier 20 would not stop stareing at her then her mom lost my Daughters # and instead of them throwing it away they started texting her ask her this and that so i went back to store ask to speak to manger and whoever had been texting her got to talk to the guy that had text but didnt get to speak to manger at all . Would not recomand there food because of there staff .

Tonight I stumbled in because I was too lazy to drive else where, I live close by. I was so surprised! I absolutely loved the food and the atmosphere. It was so nice and homey. The service was great and quick, the food was very tasty I got chicken tenders and coleslaw as my side. It all tasted very fresh. I also must add that it was inexpensive. Definitely plan on going back and trying out more stuff!

Until today Wayside had been pretty good. I walked in got my order shoved in my face by unhappy old man and got home to find three of the worst pieces of chicken Id ever seen in my life. One tasted of salt the rest got thrown out and the rest of my order was screwed up too. I work in the food industry and youve lost my custom for good.

Pretty run down on the inside, they could use a good cleaning maybe a renovation, but the cleanliness is the only reason it didnt get 5 stars. The fried chicken was amazing. This place is a gem hidden near the USA campus. Im surprised it wasnt filled with students considering it wasnt expensive and my order was filled very quickly.

We just happened upon this place and I must say its a good little place to eat. Food is good and good prices. My dad and I always say "if cops are eating there its gotta be pretty good" cause they dont eat in crappy places and there was 2 there when we got there and another came in when we were leaving lol

They made a mistake and delivered less food then we had ordered when we catered our Dealership lunch. Not only did they fix it, but they delivered us a cake 20 minutes later. It was a wonderful gesture. All businesses make mistakes, but they went above and beyond to fix it.

Wayside Chicken catered our daughters wedding. What an amazing experience! The food was wonderful and Christen at Wayside was so incredibly accommodating. I wish I could do more to promote their business. Such a great experience!

Best. Chicken. Ever. Nuff said! Im partial to the tenders. My family gets large orders for gatherings and its always on time and on point. Lunch can be a bit slow, but if you saw how busy they are youll know its totally worth it

Cheap and close alternative to Popeyes or KFC that are down Route 29. I personally dont like it THAT much as its just fried chicken, and the interior is pretty run down. Reminder that the place is closed on Sundays!

Best fried chicken in Charlottesville. Recommend the "Big Eater", for two, with mac n cheese with collard greens as the sides. Friendly, fast service. Recommend sitting outside and waiting for the trains to zoom by.

Two words: Fried Chicken. This is one of the best places in Charlottesville for fried chicken. Its a legend among locals. Very small dining room, so be prepared to take it out during busy times.
