As a native Californian, El Fresco ticks all the boxes of a good Mexican food joint. Its a little hole-in-the-wall place with no frills, but is our #1 lunch spot. You order at the counter and then theyll bring your food. They give you chips when you order and have a great salsa bar. When you run out of chips, dont be afraid to bring the empty bowl up to the counter and ask for more! El Fresco has a great variety of Mexican dishes and quite of few of them can be made vegetarian. Their lunch specials are the best deals, but even the standard priced dishes arent too expensive. This is the perfect place for a lunch, dinner with some friends, or even take-out/delivery. Be warned that lunch time is very popular here and you might have to wait a few minutes for a table to clear up.

Been going here since it first opened up. The service is friendly and they know me and my friend by name :) The food is great for the price. Lots of deals for tacos/enchiladas. I usually go for the 2 tacos for around ~$4/$5 and that comes with a fountain drink and side of chips with salsa. Chips are also very good, you can always ask for more, so its easy to come here and get full for cheap. A good entree is the nachos supreme, if youre super hungry. My friend always gets the chicken fajitas, they are delicious too! They have a rewards system, so you can get discounts the more $ you spend.

From seeing all the other review i thought Hey i should try this place out. Absolute disappointment i order the food at work for my lunch. They said 30 min to 45 mins witch actually took them an hour and 30 mins. I had to call twice to ask them about my food and not only that they acted like they werent sorry or not even said sorry i will give you another meal for this mistake. Once getting my food was cold and i the menu said chimichanga with a spicy sauce. There was not a spicy sauce on top. They put queso in a little cup. Worst worst ever never again. Anitas is TEN TIMES BETTER

I heard about this place through Groupon and gave it a shot. Great food and great service! I ordered the Carnitas burrito and they do NOT skimp on meat! It was basically a tortilla wrapped around carnitas. Beans and rice were on the side. I went back a second time and had guacamole and found it to be mostly avocado, light on the cilantro and very good on their chips. I had a pollo asada burrito the second time and it was equally as good as the carnitas burrito I tried the first time. Ingredients seem to be high quality and very fresh!

I am a San Diego native that was raised on GOOD Mexican food. Ever since I moved to the area four years ago I have had a really hard time finding great food at a decent price - well THIS IS IT!! I was so happy when El Fresco opened only a few miles from my house in Centreville. Their food always has that FRESH taste and you can tell that they use quality ingredients! Its very affordable and so-darn tasty!!! They also have many vegetarian options! I usually get the bean Mexican pizza or the Veggie burrito - YUM!!!!

Very busy place. Just not what Im used to as far as service. Order, pay, and sit down. Ordered two Ritas in the beginning. They were ok, Patron and Grand Marinier but the mix tasted like powdered limeade. That said, the food was fresh. Seems a great place to order to go food. In house dining not so much. I like table service. Especially if I wanted more chips or drinks etc. Had to go get my own salsa etc. also. If thats your style then give it 4 stars.

Was okay. A little overpriced for what they give you. Ordered the lunch special #10 and #4. Two tacos each and basically no meat. The food itself was good and will fill you up but most of what youre eating is just the rice and beans. Could have got more bang for your buck at Chipotle for the same taste. The people who work there are nice though I suppose. They have this cool salsa bar. Probably wont come here again.

I love this place. My coworker recommended it and brought in burritos for breakfast and they were to die for! Ive tried out their lunch specials as well and dont have any complaints. Honestly, I like this place better than Anitas!! A breakfast burrito w/light eggs and extra sausage for $1.78 sounds alright to me!! It beats a breakfast sandwich at any other fast food place!!

Average... Charge too much for extra toppings on a breakfast burrito. $1.00 for onions? You can get an entire bag for that. Need to rethink prices on a few items. A white queso would be wonderful along with the cheese being a little thinner. Breakfast burritos are pretty good as long as you dont want veggies because they charge you as though you are getting gourmet ones.

Fast casual Mexican thats more authentic than Chipotle, but not quite a "real" Mexican restaurant. Fast and friendly service, but a very cramped dining room. Nice salsa bar with chopped jalapenos and onions, 3 salsas (mild, med, and surprisingly hot), limes, and pico. Overall, I recommend it if youre looking for a quick and tasty bite with a party of 4 or less.

I dont normally go to a Mexican joint and order something thats not Mexican, but this place sells a Steak and Cheese burrito that is amazing. I find myself ordering it every time. Fries it comes with are good too. The reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because Im a salsa fan, and theirs are all average at best.

Nice and unexpected.......was looking for a taco shop like back home in Cali and this place did not disappoint. Taco shops like this are common place on the West Coast but this place steps it up to a polished level without being commercialized. Food is great and their service is also.

El Frescos has amazing good and great customer service for catering. We have had El Frescos cater for staff events at our business in Chantilly and also for personal events in Fairfax and the catering services was top notch for both. Highly, highly recommended!

We eat at El Fresco frequently and while its not much on ambience, the food is always fantastic. I particularly like the fish BMT (burrito ingredients but with no tortilla-served in a large bowl). Great little place and very reasonable prices!

Food was bland, girl at the register was extremely rude and to top it all off an employee went into the bathroom before me actually wiped her a** with a paper towel and threw it in the trash... Disgusting and no she didnt wash her hands.

Didnt enjoy my food and the experience. I had the lunch special - two tacos beef and shrimp. Looked like taco Bell tacos but tasted worse. Came with refried beans and rice which was ahh. Store was also hot with only one AC on a 90+ day

Our family of 4 LOVED our dinner here. 2 had burritos, 1 had chicken tacos, and 1 had the enchiladas plate. Good, hearty, Mexican food at great prices, chips and salsa bar for FREE, and darn good guacamole. We are all full and happy.
