Friend and I went there for lunch, looking for some Mexican food in Frederick. Got there when they opened on a Thursday, completely empty. The food was good. I had the beef burrito, and my friend a mix of tacos and enchilada. We both thought the beef had a nice flavor to it (marinated in something), but he thought the chicken was relatively bland. I had the white rice, which I thought was tasty, however I think the default is their Spanish rice. Overall a decent meal for a decent price. They were very quick - part of that was because they didnt have anyone else to serve, however, it was just as they opened, and Ive been to places that take a while to "warm up". Copy of nits (nothing major, but I figured Id list them anyways) The chips and salsa was okay, but I prefer a spicier salsa. They do provide a blended habanero jar, that you can use to mix in, however, it seems rather tame to me. Maybe my taste buds where dead, dunno. The beans where a little runny, but that is a style at a lot of places. The lunch menu could use some cheaper items and possibly smaller portions. I think they could benefit from adding a few options of fajita steak to a few items as well, just in case people prefer the fajita style versus the shredded beef style.

Our family is new to the area having moved from the Boston area last month. After doing some shopping, we checked out Google and decided to try Mariachi. We walked into the restaurant and were greeted by very friendly staff. And a surprise, all of the tables had crisp white tablecloths. It gave a very positive and clean atmosphere. The waiter was very prompt to bring us drinks and take our order. OMG The cream of crab soup was so delicious, I ordered a cup to go for my Dad. Very creamy and a nice portion of crabmeat. The chips and salsa were nice and fresh. I also appreciate that it had more tomatoes than onions. I ordered the chicken tamales and my husband ordered the beef taco with chicken enchilada combo. Both were very good, portions were generous and both were served nice and hot. We will definitely be back and I will definitely order the soup again. This was a great introduction to our new home.

Not what I was expecting or really what I was looking for when I got there, however I was not disappointed at all. First, the staff was extremely attentive and friendly to say the least. The food was traditional fare from many different Latino fare. Not Mexican food specifically, but it does have some traditional American Mexican restaurant offerings. I went off course and ordered a charbroiled pork dish. Definitely had a Dominican or Caribbean influence, and certainly not what I envisioned when I ordered, but the flavors and textures did not disappoint. And they even offered an off the menu Chiles Torreados which I almost always order as a test for an authentic Latino restaurant. Also, when they offer fried ice cream, it wasnt a ball of cornflake crusted ice cream, it was legitimately deep fried and served the right way. I loved it. They did not disappoint at any step and will be returning soon.

My family and I love this place! The service is fantastic - friendly, quick, and attentive. Of course its the great food and good prices that bring us here time and again. Last time there was a fun mariachi band (may have been on a weekend) that really livened things up. No such luck tonight, but the food was great as always - My wife loves their burritos and frozen margaritas, I had the superb fajitas (and margarita), and my son loved his cheese enchilada meal. His fried ice cream desert was beautifully presented and tasty (I stole a bite). The owner takes great pride in his restaurant and it shows. The decor is upscale for a mexican restaurant, bright and spacious. I cant recall a visit where the owner didnt greet us personally, visit us during the meal, and thank us on departure. We dont live in Frederick but we keep coming back again and again!

This place is the best Mexican food in town. Fantastic fajitas, superb steak, magnificent margaritas. The nachos and burritos are great sharing dishes (if youre somebody who shares) because they are huge and delicious. My husband is picky about restaurant Mexican food and he was impressed. The staff is so friendly. I havent had a server that was less than wonderful. They even humored me and took a picture with me wearing that sombrero for my birthday. The service is very prompt but we do tend to go before the dinner rush. Im not entirely sure where they are going with the rice though. Its good but not great. The place is classy and clean yet has a fiesta-fun atmosphere. I love the Mariachi band too.

My parents ordered the prime rib skillet and steak fajitas and flavor and portion were great! Unfortunately, I ordered La Lengua (tongue). And although tender, served with excellent sides and a pleasant, efficient server; with only (5) razor thin slices (totalling about 2-3oz) of tongue covered with what tasted like Heinz gravy from a can...I was left hungry while my family had tons to take home. For the cheapest part of the animal, I dont think this dish should be priced at $14; hence only 3 stars. Atmosphere was good with attention to detail, bathrooms adequate, parking ample and friendly staff. Ill give it another try and order something else.

Do I know Mexican estaurants. I started in Fresno, California and continued in the Texas panhandle and lived in Laredo, Texas for six years where they really do Mexican well. I even frequented the "Rio Grande" in the DC area where our former President liked to et. But this may be the best of all. The rice was nice safron rice and had more of a Spanish flavor. So was the tamale. Just perfet. And I had the perfect flan to take home for desert. (Too full to eat it there.) Service was very nice and personable. Looks like the first of many visits. I can not wait to take visitors there.

Mariachis is an ok place to eat. However dont think its a traditional Mexican restaurant. Its good food but Americanized Mexican food can only go so far. The building space inside was clean and the staff was very friendly. However the outside was covered in cob webs and spiders hung down from the outdoor cover. If you want something that is an Americanized Mexican food this would be a good place. However if you want authenticate then I would suggest going elsewhere.

If I could rate this place zero stars I would. Poor excuse for salsa. Cheese dip tastes like it is made from velveeta. Veggie burrito means they fill a burrito with celery, carrots, and rice (bleh!). And the rice is not spanish rice, its just plain white rice with no seasoning whatsoever (pass the soy sauce?). They also gave us burnt black beans. Standard mexican fare should be spanish rice and refried beans unless otherwise requested. Absolutely terrible.

Authentic. Very friendly staff. Very good portions for the price. My mom and I go there for basically every celebration. For two of us with dessert was between 40 and 50 dollars. We spent the same at Ruby Tuesdays and this was much better. My favorite is the the chimichongas, they come with rice, guac, and couple other things, (I cant remember.)They dont have much if any spicy food. My only complaint is I dont think their flour tortillas are homemade.
