Ummm NO. This place made my wedding cake. First of all overcharged per slice which came up to be at the top range per slice of DECORATED cake. Here you were offered only the simplest design and anything a bit more complicated had to be charged separate. When you do tasting you can only try 3 favors for free. Me and my husband had to buy more we wanted to try. I didnt get to see the cake before the wedding but omg. It was not symmetrical, sheet of sugar covering the cake wasnt smooth aAND there was a huge bubble on the side of the cake like bigger than the golf ball, diameter wise. It is very visible in all pictures. I was not a fan how it tasted seemed to taste different and it went bad very quick. Within two days it smelled old even though it was kept In the fridge. Would not recommend you getting a wedding cake from here.

The Alexandria Pastry Shop is located in the Bradlee shopping plaza, in the same plaza that shares with McDonalds, Dress Barn, and Fresh Market. They offer pastries, customized cakes, breakfast platters, as well as sandwiches. I had the BLT, which you can choose your own bread (croissant, kaiser roll, rye, French, wheat, etc.) - I chose rye; this sandwich came with a generous amount of crispy bacon, fresh lettuce and tomato, with a nice spread of Russian dressing - yum, it was delicious, with the rye bread slightly grilled. Yum! Plenty of seating within, a definitely cute little shop to stop by to get a great breakfast/lunch!

We special ordered a birthday cake - chocolate with butter cream icing. The price of approximately $20 seemed very high - but we wanted the best for a special birthday. Everyone was very disappointed. The cakes appearance was very ordinary, at best. They wrote "Happy Birthday" on a cookie and placed it on top of the cake. A child could have done better. The cake was dry, very dry. Tasteless. The icing also was dry - poor texture. It crumbled. This cake was stale. We cannot understand the glowing reviews. We would have been better off with a supermarket cake. They would have been fresher, better tasting and cheaper.

Great special event cakes. I have ordered a mousse cake and a raspberry ganache cake for special birthday parties and they were both excellent. Took away a star because it is very hard to get enough info to decide what to order... Good that cakes are available in different sizes and shapes but then the person on the phone isnt able to give prices on options, and they are not on the Website. Took a very long time and two calls to enter an order. But cakes were ready when promised both times, and got raves.

I have eaten at APS several times and I find their cookies to ALWAYS be stale and not tasty at all. Today I ordered my usual Chicken Ceaser Salad to go and although some of the lettuce always looks a little brown - I typically ignore this. However, today I found lots of GIANT mold in my salad!!! I was already back at work when I discovered this so I couldnt take it back but I will NEVER eat there again and advise others to do the same. There are plenty of better places to go...like BUZZ on Slaters Lane!

This is seriously the cutest pastry shop. They have every imaginable pastry and dessert, and all of it is fantastic. (I am, however, stuck on the cherry muffin). Youll always see the same staff, and the owner takes obvious pride in a business he has worked very hard to make wonderful! Theres no wi fi, but its never hard to find a seat (I think many people grab their treats and leave), and I never worry about someone stealing my laptop when I come by to write. Also, theres a great wine shop next door!

My wife special ordered my birthday cake, same as the cake ordered by K, chocolate with chocolate butter cream icing. My 50th birthday and nobody said anything that night. The next morning she said the cake isnt any good and was upset they ruined the cake. It was incredibly dry. The icing masked it some but not enough to overcome the poor quality of the cake. If they know it is dry, toss it and bake another. Instead, we pay for it and then toss half of it out. We will not go back.

I hosted my friend baby shower and i went 1 week before the date and chose the cake. they took my number in case i have questions. i didnt receive any calls in that week i thought everything was fine. i went to pick up the cake the day of the shower the cake was not ready and in fact they didnt know which one i chose. i said, u had my phone number why u didnt call me? the answer was: " i dont know why they didnt call". i canceled the order they had to refund me the money.

Went in on Saturday May 10 and ordered a cake with an inscription on it - the instructions on the prepaid ticket read: "BOX IT UP BEFORE SHE GETS THERE". I stopped on the way to work on Monday to pick it up - NOTHING was done - and a heavy set lady who would not give her name except for being the MANAGER - rude AND coward - asked me to write "IN ENGLISH" "Happy Opera" - they could not decipher it apparently! Should have asked for a refund - will never go back!

Dont go here for specialty cakes. I went there trying to get a birthday cake specialized and got very poor customer service. The woman tried to take my order while all these people were standing there. She gave me this look as if to say "hurry up". Its not like on the food channel where the baker sits down with you and tries to work out the concept. I got a very bad taste in my mouth from this place. Unprofessional in this aspect for sure. STEP IT UP!

Went in to order a birthday cake and ended up purchasing one that was already made. I dont know if my mistake was buying that particular cake or going there in the first place, but the cake was BAD. Dense, dry, tasteless. The frosting fell off in clumps. Half of it still sits and will likely be thrown away - an act normally unheard of! So disappointed because I recently moved close and had heard that this place was well regarded.

This is what a mom-and-pop should be, a family atmosphere with delicious treats and a willingness to put everyday service over corporate profits. Their breakfast items are particularly tasty. I love a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, but theres comes with Canadian bacon. Theyre always willing to make me one with bacon instead - this little gesture is a great example of their service and is what keeps me coming back.

Several years ago their cakes were really delicious. This year I ordered a red velvet cake for a special occasion using an Amazon Local deal. What a mistake. The cake and frosting are completely tasteless. My kids have made better red velvet cakes from a box. The only good thing is that I didnt pay full price for it. Very sad to see a nice local business go downhill like this. We definitely wont be going back.
