This Whole Foods is usually really busy and I can definitely say the staff works hard at keeping it up to par. There are plenty of cashiers and the lines move fast, considering the amount of customers. They have a decent produce section, but are often out of different greens and its even more expensive than smaller, local grocery stores. The best part of this one for me is the meat and frozen food section, which has good prices for brands I like such as Amys. The departmental staff are very friendly and helpful when customers want to try cheese or meat. Theres a good prepared food section and dinning area and theyre good at cooking fresh items for you. The PARKING is good, despite the negative reviews on it. You have a long time to park for free (2hrs) and they always have spaces. I have to say its disappointing they DO NOT HAVE A BEER OR WINE SECTION. Considering the amount of customers there and the selection at Tenleytown, Im positive theyre missing an opportunity. They dont even carry soft drinks either. I dont smoke, but they dont even have cigarettes there, so if you you smoke, there is a Giant nearby and Harris Teeter about 2 blocks up the Pike. They also sell homeopathic pills at Whole Foods, which wastes a lot of space, time and money. I had to return some after they didnt seem to work-then I read about it online and homeopathy is really a pseudoscience! Yeah, the jokes on me, but thats just not acceptable for a grocery store to sell that. So-nice service etc, but No wine, no name brand soft drinks, no tobacco and fake homeopathic placebos sold as medication-Im taking it from 5 to 3 stars. One review complained about the employees not speaking English properly-hey, guess what? They do a good job and it doesnt matter if they have an accent. Thats a nasty thing to say in a review too.

So when I heard WF was moving from its old location, I was relieved b/c I was tired of the claustrophobic size, volume of customers, and difficulty through the aisles with a cart. Parking was also a nightmare. New place - larger, more room, but parking, although didn't think possible, is worse. When I first experienced it, I was one angry customer. And I know it's just a matter if time before there's an accident. After a while, I'd settled in, figuring out the lay of the parking garage and accepted it. But I dread going there and think twice about it especially if I'd like to make a quick trip. The only good thing, at first, was that the store is larger and there was more room to maneuver. Slowly, though, it is just as awkward as the old store because the carts are larger, and WF just doesn't seem to get the layout right. I hate the produce section. They seem to pack everything on there, making the pathways narrow, without remembering that the carts are larger than your standard. It takes every ounce of me from wanting to run out of there screaming. And people wonder why other customers are so grumpy. It's hard to blame them. My frustration stems from wondering why WF can't seem to get it right. It tries to portray itself as a neighborhood store, but no amount of feel-good signs in the parking lot will make it so--especially if the parking lot is a nightmare.

Im really disappointed about the Bakery in this store, actually this is not my store since I live in Virginia, but on my way to my sister in laws house, I stop by to get a cake to have a little celebration in advance for the birthday of my 7 years old daughter. I decided for the Hot Chocolate Cake, a beautiful chocolate cake topped with little marshmallows, I thought would be nice for my daughter since she loves chocolate. I asked the person who served me on the bakery if the cake was all chocolate, and she mentioned "yes, the filling is chocolate cream", and the name suggest me a good cup of hot chocolate drink with marshmallows. My surprise was when I was getting out the cake from the box, ready to put the candles on it, luckily I licked the chocolate in one of my fingers, IT TASTED SPICY! Then in noticed some red sprinkles on the top of the cake. I started to look for the ingredients, and I found out that they put Cayenne Pepper on the ingredients. That is something that I REALLY NEED TO KNOW when I buy a cake. I enjoy to try new flavors and combinations on food and desserts, but I think and ingredient like Cayenne Pepper should be labeled in big, and in the list of allergens, mostly on a CAKE.

Good place to shop. The only thing we buy at Whole Foods is their rugelach. (Its a Jewish pastry that my wife loves.) We live in Silver Spring, but the store there offers only disappointing service and parking is very limited. By contrast, this Rockville store has its own garage with ample parking, at least when we visited on Sunday, 14 February 2016 (Valentines Day). Getting rugelach from the Silver Spring store was like pulling teeth, but readily available at the Rockville store. Be careful getting there the first time. For some reason our GPS unit put us a block away, on Executive Boulevard, where there was a large "Whole Foods" sign on that building. In fact, we saw three large "Whole Foods" signs befog we actually found the store ten minutes latter. Dont know why they did that. The store is at the corner of Executive Boulevard and Woodglen Drive, with access to their underground parking garage clearly marked as you get to the corner driving North on Woodglen. Others have complained about the checkout wait: My wife found their express lane to be quick.

Great selection. Good prices. My wife and I shop here all the time. The service has been excellent whenever I asked for help trying to find an item. The staff is always very friendly. The lines move quickly because the cashiers are both good at their job and happy. Ive shopped here over 100x since moving to the area and never had a bad experience. Parking is great too: right under the store and its free (unless it takes you more than 2 hours to shop). Regarding the previous review, by Benjamin Gunnell, I think a response is needed. He complained about the lack of beer and wine. Most grocery store in Montgomery County do not sell liquor or wine. This is because of how licensing works in Montgomery County (so you really cant ding a store for that). Second, if youre shopping at Whole Foods one would assume you care about a healthy lifestyle. Soft drinks are bad for you. So are cigarettes. You shouldnt expect them to carry either. So anyone who reads his review should understand he really meant to give 5 stars, but possibly misunderstood a couple things.

Have only been 3 or 4 times. 1st month it was open i got a package of fresh turkey wings. The sell by date was 6 days ahead, so they should have been very fresh. Turned out they were just going bad; i cooked them that same day & ended up throwing them out after trying one. This morning i went again, got 2 packs of turkey wings (3 days before exp) - yes, i like turkey wings - This afternoon noticed the refrigerator smelled bad; opened one pack & they were rotten - even had black around the bone. Dont know if they are re-wrapping meat with new dates or if that end of the refrigerated bin is too warm - I called & they will refund my $ but dinner is ruined (& containing the smell is difficult) - 2 stars are for atmosphere. I will go out of my way to go to the Gaithersburg store.
