I love this place! We have a standing order for challah every Friday. My husband and I are divided on challah - he prefers very soft and doughy, but I find that underdone. Somehow this place manages a perfect bake for both of us. Weve also tried several other tasty treats. The pesto and cheese bread is fantastic toasted and covered in sliced tomatoes or dipped into soup. The scones are perfect with coffee for weekend breakfasts - Im partial to the cinnamon chip. The biscotti, lemon bars, cinnamon rolls, and short bread were also terrific. I dont think Ive ever had a dud at Great Harvest.

Ive been going to great harvest bread for about 25 years. First as a child in Herndon and now in my adulthood at the Alexandria location. It has been a weekend tradition to get a slice of bread in the bakery and then buy a loaf (or two or three) to take home. At almost any store or restaurant, there is bound to be one thing I am not too fond of. I havent ever had anything I didnt 100% love from great harvest. I hope the owners keep doing what theyre doing!

This Great Harvest is pretty basic. If youre just looking for their signature bread or granola, youll find it here. The staff is nice enough & the no-frills vibe is reminiscent of old timey bakeries. My dad works at a Great Harvest & makes the best panini grilled pb&js. I wanted to have one, so I made the trek to this location only to find they dont serve sandwiches. I shouldve done my research ahead of time.

Ive been going here for several years, but got a special treat lately. Under the new owners theres fresh gluten free bread every Monday. Having a local bakery was already a plus for the community, but having one where I can take advantage of fresh gluten free bread is terrific. If gluten free is important to you or your family, check it out. Its always freshest on Monday - try the cranberry bread!

Best challah I have ever tasted!!!!. I do not eat bread because Im gluten intolerant but I tasted this challah and I was hypnotized. I cant stop thinking about it. I live in NYC and Im tempted to take a trip just to get some challah. They only make it on a Friday which means its always fresh and they are very generous with the raisins.

Great bread. Especially like their (Friday only) challah, their cinnamon breads (chip or swirl), as well as their loaf cakes. Give their banana bread a try - youll be happy you did. I drive out from DC every couple of months to stock up. Nice people behind the counter also makes it a pleasure to shop there.

Nice place. I had a chocolate chip scone and coffee for breakfast. Their coffee was surprisingly good for a place that does not specialize in it. They gave me a sample of some raspberry swirl bread. It was tasty. The mint chocolate chip cookies are especially good.
