By Dr. Bridgewater-Foy: COMPLAINT RE: OBNOXIOUS & DISCRIMINATORY MANAGER: DANIEL QUIROZ. Ive been occasionally patronizing the Corner Bakery Cafe chain in the DMV region for several years. Most of my patronage has been at the Crystal City location & this one in the "Courthouse" neighborhood. Most of the managers seem to be reasonable & pleasant. Their food has always been AVERAGE (leaving much to be desired - but their service has usually been satisfactory). However, I had two recent encounters with DANIEL QUIROZ where he showed himself to be an obnoxious & discriminatory "mexicano" man. (Hes relatively new in management at this site). SUMMARY: Today (Sat. 4/05/2014) I arrived at the cafe somewhere around 9:15am. I got a cup of coffee & proceeded to set-up my laptop to do some work (as I have done on numerous occasions). There were several other patrons in the cafe who had purchased NOTHING (including one Middle-Eastern looking young woman who was there when I arrived. She had two STARBUCKS coffee cups on her table & sat there for quite some time (reading, etc.) - eventually meeting with another female friend). At any rate, At approximately 12:45pm or so. An obnoxious young latina woman came into the area where I was seated (carrying her toddler daughter on her hip). She dragged the childs dirty shoe across my laptop computer bag. I used the tip of my finger. Gently poked her (the mother) on her side and said: Miss, get your childs foot off my bag. Mother: Huh? ME: The childs dirty shoe is on my bag. Get it off my bag. Mother: Well, I didnt know. ME: And So I just told you. Mother: Well just tell me. Dont touch me. Dont ever touch me! (And she huffs off). ME: Are you crazy? Mother: What is wrong with you? ME: No, What is wrong with YOU? [Staring at her]. Just then, the womans boyfriend (or significant other) appears (carrying a child seat). He doesnt know what happened, but attempts to "intercede." Guy: Sir, What is wrong with you? ME: No, Whats wrong with YOU? And they both head off to another part of the cafe. OBNOXIOUS PEOPLE. So youre dragging your childs dirty-assed feet on other peoples property & you dont want to be told anything? One of the asst. managers (Indian woman whose name I believe is Rhadi) was sitting within 10 ft. of this little "incident." She never said a word to me. This obnoxious broad DESERVED TO BE TOLD OFF, but I refrained from doing so OUT OF COURTESY FOR THE BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENT & the managers with whom Im acquainted. *********************************************************************************************** These two morons (the latino parents) apparently went to "complain" to Daniel. Now, Ive never had any prior issues or "confrontations" with ANY of the other Corner Bakery Cafe staff. Instead of Daniel exercising objective discernment & coming to ask me what occurred, he had the NERVE & OBNOXIOUS GALL to call the building security to eventually come & ask me to leave the premises (slightly after 1:00pm). Long story short... Both the building security staff (Mr. Owens) & the other asst. manager (Indian woman whose name I believe is Rhadi) were VERY pleasant with me. However DANIEL QUIROZ was obnoxious as hell - even after I advised him that I most likely would be filing a complaint with corporate. (When I initially asked him for his full name, he hesitated & initially would not spell his surname. Ohh, well if you believe that your behavior & actions were objective, proper, & justified - then why are you hesitant to provide the correct spelling of your name)? This is an example of what occurs when companies elevate OBNOXIOUS, NO-MANNERS PEOPLE WITH POOR COMMUNICATION SKILLS INTO "MANAGEMENT."

i been there a few times food is great but what i didnt like is the noise/screaming that i heard coming from the back/ behind the counter. Ive heard this tall indian lady that has long hair wish i had her name but i never got it. service is always good but it seems that she treats and yells at her employees all the time, which in my opinion is very rude especially when open for the public to see.

Ive dined there on 5 or 6 occasions. Its a great lunch spot. Hot, fresh sandwiches, tasty soups, crisp fresh salads. I cant say Ive had a bad meal there, the service is prompt and efficient. Great place to eat lunch or grab a quick bite to eat if youre in the Arlington, VA area. 4 out of 5 stars!

Meh. Just meh. came for breakfast. Purchased a croissant sandwich and a 500ml bottle of water. Price tag was 8$. Sandwich was mediocre and they "ran out of croissants" so I didnt even get to eat it with a croissant. Not only that it took about 20 minutes to get my food and it was not busy.

I needed a quick rounded breakfast before an early morning so I gave their Power Flats a go and was not disappointed. Great flavor, fresh ingredients, and the side of salsa was a perfect accompaniment. Will definitely keep this place in mind next time Im in the area.

Nice meal, especially considering we were traveling as a relatively large group. I highly recommend the three cheese macaroni and the fruit lemonade. The meal was filling, if a little starchy, but overall a fairly nice experience. No major problems.

Very pleasant atmosphere. Great place to stop for a meal, snack, coffee,... conversation with a friend, or just sit and enjoy life. Convenient location near metro. Lots of great foods to choose from.

Fairly standard corner bakery. Staff was nice, but there is construction occurring on the exterior of the building which created a lot of noise.
