This place was ok. I wasnt too impressed. The portion size was great. Giant bowl of noodles is always something I like to see. I just wasnt very impressed with broth or the noodles. It is possible that it was simply the order we got. We tried the mushrooms noodle bowl (cant remember what the actual name was). They had a large variety of mushrooms, so if your way into your mushrooms then you might have enjoyed it more than i did. I also tried their steamed buns. Those are pretty tasty. I enjoyed them and they were pretty affordable for what you get. The decor of restaurant was mediocre but I felt that the staff was very friendly. Service is important to me and so I felt that they did a good job in that regard. I cant say that I will go back, but if i do i will probably try their duck noodle bowl.

You do not go to a hole in the wall restaurant and expect decor or service. Stop docking this business for such. They have by far the best dim sum in the city. They do not overcook shrimp like everywhere else here; nor does the shrimp taste fishy like everywhere else. The pork is very good. Everywhere else has a wierd aftertaste for pork dishes; meaning poor quality. The food quality here is far superior in my opinion. I personally think the service is fantastic. Im usually in and out in under 30 min. To summarize: They have the best quality dim sum, its cheap, and the service is sweet (if you get the woman, the man is a bit sour haha).

Reasons why I love this place so much: 1. Excellent Chinese food 2. Shrimp leeks dumpling (one of the DimSum dish) is so delicious, a must have!!! 3. So cheap for the amount of food you get. Fried rice cost about $5 and very good. My favorite is the BBQ pork fried rice, yumm. 4. They open later than most places 5. Good variety of DimSum dish and cost $2 each. So good! 6. Very very good daily special that werent in the menu. -- I think the waiter with long pinky nails werent there when we went over the weekend. We had a very nice a young Chinese guy who was so helpful.

I enjoyed the Dim Sum at Cafe Ahn Hong, but I could tell that its not for everyone. Some of the dishes are quite pungent and had tastes I was not accustomed to, though thats half the adventure to me and not necessarily a bad thing. Dont come here expecting panda buffet; the food may be americanized but its definitely more authentic than chain chinese places. The flavor of food at Cafe Ahn Hong reminds me of Little World, which is located nearby. Stay away from the entrees; the menu really shines when you pick out a handful of Dim Sum plates to sample.

My friend had a chow mein combination plate that was almost inedible. It tasted like it had too much soy and plum sauce on it. The friend rice was ok as were the fried shrimp and egg drop soup. I had the duck noodle soup. The duck was quite good but I didnt like how all the pieces had bones on them. The soup was pretty basic broth with some nice vegetables on top and chow mein noodles. The pot stickers we ordered from the Dim Sum menu were very large but most of that was in the wrapper. The meat looked like Spam and didnt taste much better.

My boyfriend and I have been going to this Chinese restaurant very frequently and we couldnt agree more that the dim sum is delicious especially the shui mia. However the costomer service is terrible. The male owner/sever never once greeted us with a "Hi or a smile. Even when we sincerily tried to say hi he would just unwillingly ignored our presence. When our water glass runs empty we have to inconveniently ask for it. Because of the unfriendly enviroment and bad customer service we decided not to go the restaurant ever again.

The food is great especially the dinner. We went there for lunch and it wasnt as good. I think they probably cut corners on their lunch menu. I would actually rate this restaurants food a 5 if it didnt have to come with the piece of crap waiter hes so unfriendly and hateful its hard to believe he has a mother. The second time my boyfriend and I went in there he smacked my boyfriend in the arm and said "you ready?" Despite the creep that runs the front I will be back cause its some of the best Chinese food Ive had!

HELL YES! If you like real Chinese food and dim sum, this is the place! I had to try it out since its within walking distance from my house, and especially since they offer dim sum. The atmosphere is rather minimalistic and clean. The service is extremely friendly and felt just as if eating at a Chinese familys house. $2 dim sum on Saturdays and Sundays which is great! Otherwise its just $2.50 which is still a great deal and m girlfriend and I can get filled up for less than $20

Best Dim Sum in the valley hands down. A little more oily than others, but much more flavorful. I eat here about once every two-three months. Service can range from acceptable to downright awful. My family nicknamed the owner as "Sour Face" because it looks like he hates his life every second of the day. Fortunately for them, I can completely bypass awful service for great food. I cant really speak for the rest of the menu, because I only go there to eat Dim Sum.

Definitely a no frills hole in the wall family run restaurant. But this is by far one of the best places in Utah to get good dim sum, duck and crab. Fried rice is always spot on and our family is always stuffed. And the prices are also very reasonable. Our family of 4 most of the time spend less than $30 including tip. Of course we spend more Id we go for lobster, crab or duck but even then, nothing outrageous.

The food was good Chinese food, however the restaurant seemed to have some serious health code violations. It just isnt clean, and is very old. We ordered water to drink and the water tasted like nasty tap water from a dish sink. I also found a fly in my beef with broccoli. I can understand flies getting into the kitchen, but for it to end up in the food, there are problems that need to be remedied.

Really very bad. Both waiters obviously hated being here, very rude and sat down in the corner staring into the distance when they werent at our table. Most importantly the moo goo gai pan was about 75% canned mushrooms and 8 bucks... Ill be surprised if this place is in Business for 2 more months. Go to Shanghai down the road for cheaper and much better food.

I agree with the food reviews. Yummy food but not user friendly service. The language barrier is big. But they were kind. But the food is worth it. There were a few dishes we got that none of us liked. The beef was not easy to eat. Chicken and shrimp were amazing. As were crab wontons. But for what we liked we will definitely come back for.

THE MOST AUTHENTIC Chinese/Cantonese cuisine we ever had in the US, not even slightly Americanized! We travelled to SLC from the east coast and this place cane out as the biggest suprise to us, and we dined with Cafe Anh Hong for two straight days. Highly recommended!
