I have always loved Cafe Trio, but this recent experience has tarnished my opinion. Went for Sunday brunch. Our party of three was seated (by our request) inside, and the server assigned to our table was apparently having too much fun outside to bother to greet us. We got water and menus and then waited until we had to ask the person who brought the water to find our server. When she came, she was a complete disaster. We ordered drinks, and waited way too long for them to come. My order of a bellini somehow became a mimosa in translation. Two Irish coffees were dripping cream down the sides of the glasses and although we requested that they be wiped off we were left to do that ourselves with a dry napkin. The Irish coffee was weak and cold. Poached eggs were watery and luke warm. Our server never checked back to see how things were. Then she suddenly arrived with the check without offering dessert menus. We all decided that it would be a while before wed return to Cafe Trio.

I didnt know Trio was capable of such a horrible dining experience. I was excited to have a nice dinner out and was ready to spend the cash on quality food. It was not to be. I ordered a salad and the Brussel sprouts with no bacon, as I am a strict vegetarian. Salad was a bit wilted. Sprouts came out with no bacon but wth the addition of a hair. Sent it back. Came out again and I took a bite only to be surprised with the taste of bacon. That truly upset me. Sent it back again. At this point my friend was nearly done eating his mediocre, over priced steak. From there on out was downhill. I wasnt given silverware after the waiter took it. He didnt clear our plates or fill our water when we needed it. Just horrible. First time I havent left a tip in many years.

Very sad to report that our favorite restaurant failed to deliver last night. We arrived at the restaurant around 5 pm and there were only two other parties seated. It took that waiter 20 minutes to deliver water to the table and another 20 minutes to come back and get our order. Then we waited another half an hour for our food. i ordered the pork and when it came it was uncooked, (pink and raw in the middle)! We had no time to send it back because we were going to a play, so I just ate the polenta and salad, which was unattractively stacked on top of each other. What happened to the previous chef? Do I dare go back again? Nope!!!

Horrible Easter brunch!!! We got there at two (thats the earliest they would seat us) Everthing was cold and dried out. We had to ask them to fill up some things that were empty, then not everything was replenished. Eggs Benedict was so hard you have to "saw it" with your knife. The desserts were a joke , a little tiny mini muffin size piece of cheese cake, and really dry crust pound cake, and some kind dried up mini muffins. Absolutely horrible experience! $30.00 a person. More like a $10.00 buffet. So disappointing. DONT GO THERE!

Not a place for foodies. Been there a few times (not going back). Food is mediocre at best. Service is not consistent. At times, great, other times, very rude waiters (including one that showed up at our table wearing sun glasses). Manager at the downtown location was rude as well when we told her our polenta dish had hard balls of uncooked polenta in it. Tables too close together, not suitable for business lunches or a quiet dinner.

I always have consistently delicious food here, every time. This time I got the Baked Penne, it was mouthwatering, sizzling hot with plenty of melted cheese. We also tried the Trio Club and BLT Paninis. Good textures and flavors. Great portions of delicious food. The mixed greens salads were a balance of sweet that enhanced the vinaigrette. And as always we had great service.

Went here for a business lunch and the food and service were great. The prices were a little more than I would prefer to pay, so I am unlikely to visit this restaurant again, but if you dont mind paying a bit of a premium for lunch you will not be disappointed. The decor is modern but comfortable and they easily accommodated our group of twelve.

Had a nice Easter brunch with a set buffet menu. Food was tasty. They had us sitting outside on their patio which is a nice setting but feel they need some shades, or large umbrellas to block out the sun. Got a little warm. Staff was accommodating and moved us to some shade which was great. Looking forward to coming back.

Lunch Food: 7/10 Staff: 7/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Location: 7/10 Recommendation: Good lunch spot for business. The food is above average and is a change from the normal lunch routine. The staff is prompt and helpful. The atmosphere is modern and clean. The location is a little out of the way and against the mountain.

Amazing food, awful service. Rosemary flat bread was out of this world! Highly recommend. When you order chicken on your ceasar salad, dont expect the chicken to actually come with the salad. And dont expect anyone to actually come check on how the food is or if you need refills. It wont happen.

Meh. There are other places that offer higher quality italian food for less $$. There isnt much of an atmosphere that differs from a random lunch feel restaurant. It really is just ok. If the $$ were more equal to the quality of food it would be better and merit more stars.

We went to Trio for the first time a couple weeks ago. The food was delicious, but the service was very sub par. We sat for 15 minutes before seeing our waiter, the food took almost 30 minutes to come out, but it was worth it. The food here was very delicious.

Right next to my hotel is this gem. Came for lunch and had a flavorful bison bolognese pasta. Menu isnt huge but with the quality of the food it still wasnt easy to decide. Waiters are young but eager. Plenty of cocktails, wine and some beer as well.

Our table ordered a flat bread which came with cheese and some tomatoes, it was yummy. I Had the carbonara and a bowl of creamy tomato soup. Both were just okay, nothing special. Service and atmosphere was fine.

Ive been to Chicago, New York, Seattle New Orleons and San Francisco. Every once in a while you find an artist! I particularly enjoyed the Braised Pork Bolognese and an outstanding Rubarb bar. Thank you!

It was just ok. The service was pretty poor. We had to search for the host in order to be seated. The food was good, but overpriced for what you get. I wouldnt go out of my way to dine here.

Great service, good food. I go there every time I am in SLC for business. I particularly enjoy their rosemary flatbread and the butternut squash ravioli.

Best most attending server. Worst eggs benedict Ive ever experienced. I did not complain because I did not want to ruin the experience for my guest.
