First time here, gave it a try. Be prepare for menu price shock -- everything is high and sold separately (ala carte add-on). Ordered cheapest thing on the menu -- a "Super" burger + split Rings with my friend + drink -- WOW $13+tip $16 is my half? "Super" is the entry level bare bones burger -- a bland tasting 1/2 lb "loose" (3 pieces) chuck slapped on an plain cafeteria style Kaiser -- tomato & cheese extra. For a place known for their "wow" food, this burger was far below "super". ("wow" I could have gone to Bagger Daves for the same price and got the beer included). Even Culvers down the street has much better tasting burgers at half the price. However to be fair, Tonys $9.99 BLT bacon overload looks like a better buy, plenty for two people and you might escape for under $15/couple. Wont go back, way overpriced and under delivered gimmick food served in a worn out truck stop.

Last night we stopped at Tonys on our way back home from a trip up north. My boyfriend had never been to Tonys and wanted to check it out. I had been here a couple times but years prior and never had a complaint. I ordered the Reuben sandwich and it was tasteless. Piled high with stringy sauerkraut and over cooked, fatty corned beef I took three bites and couldnt continue eating it. My boyfriend, who is a sous chef, tried it and agreed it was bland like the meat and sauerkraut had been sitting in hot water all day. The server came to the table and asked if everything was alright and we asked her to take it away. She OFFERED to talk to the manager to take it off the bill. She returned to the table a few minutes later and said the manager would not take it off the bill... Thats fine, your food sucks and poor customer service. We will not be back again nor will I recommend Tonys to anyone.

Tonys is a right of passage when headed "up north." Youd be doing yourself a disservice to not stop here at least once in your life, even if just to see the vastness of food this place has. Prices are excellent for the portions you receive, but unfortunately, that generally means a lot of food wasted unless you take it to go. Most orders come with at least a 1/2lb of bacon, but generally more like a pound. It doesnt taste like what you would get most places, but its still pretty good. At some point, everything starts tasting like bacon at Tonys. Pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns, everything. Thats okay for some, as long as youre expecting it. Also, try the Uncle Bobs Smokey Mountain Premium Sauce on your food. It tastes great with eggs. The hot is an immediate hot, but not too hot for most. And its made locally (Frankenmuth). You can buy it at the counter when you check out. Give it a try!

Stopped in on advise from family while visiting in Michigan. Usually a place with a gimmick does not follow through on quantity and quality...usually one or the other. Tonys far exceeded what I was told. Not only do you get crazy portions but the food is DELICIOUS! The staff was friendly and accommodating. My wife ordered the BLT( at LEAST a pound of bacon) and I ordered the Reuben with a side of fries. We ended up eating maybe half the fries and we shared HALF of my Reuben. We ended up with two large carryout containers, one with nothing but BACON. We ate 3 more meals from the 2 sandwiches we ordered. After checking out, we later found like a pound or so of candy that was put in our take out bag.And the best part...the meal cost just a little over $20. Although we tried it for the novelty of it, we will be back. Truly a hi-lite of the trip and a life long memory...

Got the turkey club (split with another person and for that the size was about right) anything that has bacon has A LOT of bacon, so dont complain if you dont like bacon. There are plenty of items on the menu not involving bacon and they are huge sized as well. Also got a hot fudge brownie with a "scoop of ice cream" I would guess there was around half a gallon of ice cream on the plate. The 2 of us couldnt finish. Easy on/off access to I75, definitely recommended if you are passing through on your trip! When we went the parking lot was fairly full, but there were many available seats, we were seated right away and were eating within 10 minutes. Total time for the stop including desert was around a half hour, and the bill for 2 people was 24 dollars, not too shabby. Oh yeah, and its not just huge portions, this food is QUALITY as well.

July 20, 2014. It had been 35 years since we ate at Tonys. We were saddened to learn that Tony was no longer with us, but glad that his family was carrying on the original menu style. Order eggs and bacon and you get a dozen eggs and a pound of bacon! Corned beef hash was an entire platter by itself! Everything was just as we remembered it from years ago, even the table we first ate at was still in the exact same spot. It was a very enjoyable, nostalgic experience and we hope it isnt another 35 years before we make it back up to Tonys!!! Get there early for breakfast, lines form shortly after 9:30AM. You just gotta try this place! (I read some negative reviews by others, some people just live to find faults. Ignore them, its a great, fun place to stop at - and try the gallon banana split!)

If I could rate them a ZERO, I would! I stood in line and it was out the door. I get to the front of the line finally, mind you, you dont get to enter until they deem it time to get you! I get there only to be told that I cannot be seated until my whole party was present! Then the young guy promptly took the two behind me that was a party of THREE! My husband was right outside the door and our other two were PARKING their car! We decided that know matter how much BACON they serve, or whatever draws people there, their policy SUCKS! We will never enter their establishment again! I will also be sure to spread the word! Our evening was not wasted though, we went to the Brewery in Frankenmuth, had a great meal and tipped our waiter nicely, they knew how to treat a customer!

I wanted to try the place considering Im always on the east side of the state in the tricities area and it was ranted and raved about on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. I particularly wanted to try the famed BLT with 1lb. Of bacon. I got just that and the bacon was NOT what I was expecting at all. Entirely too thick-cut and very hard - it was like an overdone jerry texture that was super difficult to bite into, let alone chew! I did get a side order of eggs and they were good, but to me, it was just ok. Maybe they offer a different cut of bacon? If not - they should! And if they do - TELL YOUR WAIT STAFF TO ASK WHAT CUT OF BACON YOUD LIKE!! Maybe I will come back again and try something else. They did have other menu items that looked/sounded delectable.
