On my way to Harmons today, I realize there is a sub zero location right there pretty much next to it. Well considering I am from out of state and we dont have a sub zero where we live, I was ecstatic! I have been twice in boise, and my experience was great and not to mention the ice cream was to DIE FOR!! Being pregnant, Ive been craving it so bad and had already planned on going while I was in Utah, but since it was right next to Harmons in Draper, it made it that much easier for me to not have to go further out of my way to find a location. Anyways, I walk up to the door and all the lights are off. The hours on the door say 12-10 (or 11, cant remember which for the closing time) for Fridays. Well here it is, Friday at 3 pm, and they are closed. All lights off and doors locked. Absolutely no notice on the door whatsoever, stating WHY they were closed when they were supposed to be open or when they WOULD be open again. I understand things happen, but at least leave a note on the door so people who drive to your location to get ice cream and come to a closed store at least know why! So I go home..... then later that night, I had to make another trip to Harmons for some last minute stuff at 9 pm, well this time I see that sub zero is open now at this time, so I decided to go in when I was done shopping. I walked over, there was only one person working and a pretty long line. So we waited, and waited, and waited, then another person comes walking out of the back to start helping I guess. The guy in front of me wanted sugar free cream, they didnt have it so he just had to leave after waiting for 30 minutes. Then its my turn, I get up to order and they didnt have brownie bites I wanted so right there I was already done. But to top it off, there were bugs ALL over flying around the lights in the glass food case where the toppings are. There were tons of bugs and the whole counter was absolutely disgusting. At that point, I just wondered about the cleanliness of their bowls, scoops, ect... their whole store was gross but what I saw in the back was horrifying. I LOVE sub zero ice cream and the one in boise was AWESOME. But these owners here literally take no pride in their store nor their employees and when you try to contact them about a problem, they wont even return a phone call or an email. I hope they read this so they know how gross their store is. You guys should really take notes from other sub zero owners that clearly care more about the cleanliness of their stores and the satisfaction of their customers than you do!

The first time my family came here, it was awesome. This time, not so much. The three employees were too busy flirting and goofing around to help the customers adequately. There were two boys and a girl working. The girl and one of the boys wouldnt stop flirting, with the girl going so far as to fling ice cream off of her spatula at the boy with a full counter of people waiting. It took nearly ten minutes to get our ice cream. The party in front of us had their order made incorrectly, even after the employees relayed several times to each other what the size was for each and whether or not it had a waffle bowl. The girl broke one of the waffle bowls then just stood there and stared at it for a full half minute as if she had no clue what to do. One of the boys had to come to her rescue by *gasp* getting a new waffle bowl. All this was before we even received our order. The girl took care of freezing my custard, spraying it with nitrogen no less than three times, leaving it hard as a rock and nearly inedible. I really loved the experience and ice cream the first time we came here, when a more mature staff was working. This really disappointed me and in the future, our business will be determined by who is attending the counter.

NOT ALLERGY FRIENDLY!! My kids are allergic to milk, and we have enjoyed Subzero several times at other locations, but even though I told the staff worker that my kids needed clean bowls, etc, (they had soy milk instead of cow milk), I think the other utensils must have been contaminated, because both kids got bad belly aches within ten minutes of eating, one with a swollen lump in her throat. Emergency Benadryl and everyones ok, but we will not be returning to this location. Also, the place is dirty. I was already annoyed by the appearance of the unswept floors and messy counters, but now Im even more upset.

Im always a little skeptical with negative review like the one above. Im am sure the competition has their eye on Sub Zero. I went here and thought the ice cream was great. I am the type that does not like melted ice cream. This stuff stays frozen while you eat it (because it so cold). I havent tried the chocolate referenced above. But the regular cream (or vanilla or whatever) is very good. It is a little pricey, but Im sure the equipment they have is not cheap. I like this place better than others (Cold stone, frozen yogurt, etc.).

I love Sub Zero, but this was first time at this location. The young girl (she had paint on her face and arms) taking our order was in her own world, had to repeat the order several times, also had to point and help her find the flavors we wanted. Then she acted rude and upset , on top of that, she did not know the correct flavor ratios to mix into the ice creams. After all that she over froze the ice cream and It looked like little rocks in the cup. Never coming back to this location!

We ordered 2 smalls. One was a chocolate frozen yogurt with pb cup topping and the other was cake batter with 3 toppings. The total was $10.56. These were not very big amounts and the price surprised me. The chocolate sucked! It had very little flavor other than a sicky sweet flavor. I took 2 bites and then threw it away. My husband thought the cake batter was ok. We drove from this place over to Goldenspoons. I will not go back!

Subzero is my favorite ice cream but my visit today ruined it for me. I walked in and the worker (young kid with blue hair) was serving a group of 3 teens. He was talking and laughing and teasing them, trying to talk them into different orders, whatever else you can think of. After standing there for 40 minutes without so much as being acknowledged, I finally left. Worst service I have ever had. I wont go back to the draper location.

Sub zero is awesome because its so different than Fro yo and ice cream shops. I dont like soft and melty ice cream and I love how cold and hard this stays. Like any ice cream shop, it is kinda pricey but you are partly paying for the experience of watching them make it right in front of you. I definitely recommend everyone to try it at least once
