My wife and I had a 20 minute wait for dinner which is acceptable, but once seated the waiting began. We received our drinks and ordered our meal and within 5 minutes we had our salads. All seemed fine at that point, but then we started to hear complaints from other tables concerning cold food, and long waits. After receiving the salads, it took another 50 minutes for our meals to arrive, and we were considering leaving. My wife ordered chicken fried steak, with fries, and the fries were old and cold. I ordered salmon with a baked potato. The baked potato was cold to the point that it would not even melt butter, and the salmon was near the consistency of jerky. I did request the manager who apologized, stating that her staff had gotten the salmon out of the freezer and had overcooked it in the microwave (I thought I was getting fresh food). A new meal was prepared and delivered which was better, but the salmon was not pink, and did not taste fresh or like salmon. The meals made both me and my wife physically sick for the rest of the evening. I also had to ask for knife to cut up my potato, and was only provided with a single small napkin. I have gotten better service and Far Better food at McDonalds. I would recommend that you avoid this restaurant until they can figure out how to cook food fit for human consumption. Honestly the worst meal weve had in years if not ever. I should have stuck with my first intention which was to pay for our salads and drinks and leave. Road kill would have had more appeal and flavor.

Would have gotten 5-stars for the awesome food this place has except there was slow service to even get our orders taken and we had to wait in line over 10 minutes at the register before the employee finally appeared so customers could pay (I have never seen a long line of people waiting to pay like that in any restaurant before! There must have been 10 families in line and it stretched half the length of the restaurant! How embarrassing for them). The waitress also gave me an incorrect WIFI password so we couldnt even pass the time with that. Other than those issues, the place had pretty decent food! The reason I had to knock an additional star off the rating is because I had wanted to try one of their bear claws that they advertise throughout the restaurant. They had none in the bakery case so we waited for 10 minutes while they went to see if they had any more. The lady brought me one from the back and told me it cost $6.50 for ONE! I didnt think it was that great either and not worth the huge price tag of $6.50. I have never seen a bakery "danish" of this type go for such a high cost, yet be so ordinary and not worth writing home about thats for sure. Btw, their kitchen staff was also dropping F-bombs in the kitchen - which both ourselves and another family with children could hear quite clearly. Last time Ill be ordering anything from the bakery.

For the time being FIND A DIFFERENT Black Bear Diner. I went on a Sunday to get a bite and sat at the counter. It was clear that the kitchen was as understaffed as the front of the house was overstaffed. While my server was polite with me it was obvious she was flustered and I soon found out why. One of the cooks kept calling the other by name over and over constantly as if she had some form of OCD. It sounds trivial but her voice carried throughout the establishment and it was downright obnoxious! She said some fairly inappropriate things to this particular cook that were in jest but it honestly seemed like an HR situation to me. Of course as a customer its not really my business - except that it was all within earshot of me, the guest, who had to endure her saying "bla blah bla Mami (cooks apparent name), I love you Mami, do you love me Mami? will you marry me Mami? You can borrow my husband any time Mami! Is that food ready mami? Ill find you a real sexy bf Mami" No joke. My server looked at my by the end of the meal and said shes "sick of hearing that all day" and that its "F**king annoying" which, the VERY bad language aside, was exactly my sentiments. The food was average. Find a different Black Bear until they get better staff.

We enjoy going to black bear diners, Except for this one. They take along time to seat you, plenty of empty tables if they would get them cleaned. We had our daughter and her little son, they put us in a both and said we couldnt have a high chair due to fire safety. The table next to us had a little girl in a high chair, that was closer to the exit door. Finally was able to go to a different table so we could get a high chair. It took waiter and cook to get our food to the table 23minutes, understand if it was busy. I order the chicken fried steak breakfast, it came wrong so she took it back. Everyone was half way done by time I received mine back. I finally got my pancake after I ate my meal , only had to ask twice to get it. It seemed like all the staff was more interested in talking and goffing off. Finally got to the register to pay and was ignored by the cashier, so she could finish her none work conversation with a coworker. Noticed her name tag said she was the manger. Like I said we enjoy black dinner just go to different location.

I tried calling ahead to see if they had a patio and make a reservation, no one answered. While we were waiting to be seated they asked if they could seat a larger group before us. The larger groups order was taken before ours, causing our food to take significantly longer. They really should have put our order in before the larger group, since we had been waiting longer. They brought half of our tables food out, then one by one they brought the rest. When I finally got my food, everyone else at the table was almost finished. They told me the reason mine took so long was because they made my veggie burger with a beef patty the first time, I proceeded to take a bite just to find out that they made it with a turkey burger this time. When my correct order finally came out everyone else was done eating, and the waitress never came back to see if we needed anything else. The waitress was really nice, and they didnt charge me for my meal. Even with this the food was pretty basic, so if youre looking for a basic experience here you go.

My son was visiting from Vegas and loves Black Bear diner. We came in the Monday after Christmas. It was very busy. We waited 45 min for a table. No problem, its crazy busy! We ordered quickly and waited& waited some more. We were seated near the kitchen where the servers come out, and noticed that 2 our 3 tables seated after us were getting their food. The waitress came out and apologized and said the manager would like to speak to us. After 50 min since we ordered, w ask her how much longer, she actually told us there was 2 our 3 orders before ours would be done. My son had a plane to catch so we left. The manager never came to talk to us. It was such a waste of time, so disappointing! Update: I emailed the management after this visit. I received an acknowledgement email stating that management would reply. I have never received any reply to my email. I guess they could care less. Oh well...
