We dined at the Runaway Plate for the first time and I have to say, my family and I were quite impressed with their fresh home cooked food and family friendly atmosphere. Its located at the entrance to Spring Trails on Riley Fuzzell in that new shopping center. The service was excellent. I want to suggest The Runaway Plate for anyone looking for some good home cooked food when you dont have the time or the desire to cook and clean. They even have samples for you to try before you buy! It certainly was an excellent alternative to the typical fast food we see around. You can dine-in or carry out. They even offer a drive thru to pick up on the way home. We spoke to the owners, Lina and Ryan for a while and they are just super nice folks and very personable. They have put their heart and soul into thier dream. If youre looking for something freshly made and different than the typical place to dine out go ahead and give them a try. You will not be disappointed! *****FIVE STARS all the way*****

Im giving this place 2 stars after trying it last night. Waited a while to place order which wasnt too big of a deal. A guy came to our table to let us know we were just waiting on some fresh Mac and cheese for mine so should be about 5 minutes. Food came and my steak was a great medium rare and my boyfriends was well done even though he ordered medium rare. Many food items were cold-mashed potatoes and the Mac and cheese. We were so hungry as my boyfriend just got in from a flight so we ate everything as is as we didnt want to wait any longer. Was hoping for something better especially at a little higher price point. Maybe it was an "off" night, but not sure we will return.

I wouldve never posted this review had it not been for tonight. My wife and I have eaten at this restaurant twice. Generally we give restaurants at least two chances. But this post has nothing to do with the restaurant itself though we werent happy enough with the food, portions or the prices to return again. No, this review is for the owner and her crass, unprofessional, greedy, and profane mannerisms. It always amazes me how much time people will put into how they look and then act in such an ugly way. I am appalled. I will never support a business owned by such a nasty and selfish person. Very disappointed.

This place hits just the right balance of quick service, food quality, pricing and portion size. The rotating list of entrées and selection of sides are the main attraction here. Itll cost you a little more than cheaper fast food options, but the price is definitely justified by the short wait and the delicious "home-cooked" flavors. They also have a selection of "bowls" that are less expensive, but they dont leave me as satisfied as the full sized meals. I usually eat lunch here about once a week, if that tells you anything.

Excellent food and service. Walked in the door and was greeted brightly by some fantastic staff. Given samples of each daily dish (which all but one were excellent, and Im a very picky eater), and decided on the chicken pomodoro. Food was prepared fresh and quickly - out in about 10 minutes, maybe a few less. Chicken was excellent, green beans fresh and seasoned well, mashed potatoes were great. Owner greeted and chatted for a few minutes as well. Will definitely be returning. Overall - 4.8 Service - 5 Food - 5 Atmosphere - 4.5

This place offers sit down quality food in a fast food style. The flavor is excellent, the selection is always rotating and fun. The menus are seasonal so you get new tasty treats every few months. The owner is around regularly and you can tell she REALLY cares about the service she provides. Ive gotten food here at least a couple dozen times and have only had one meal I wasnt in love with and even that was still better than anything youll get at a fast food joint.

The Runaway plate catered for my graduation party. I ordered the alioli chicken, chimichurri steak, mashed potato, diva salad, cilantro rice, and salted caramel brownies. The food was simply fantastic, all of it! The most delicious was the chimichurri steak: juicy, tender, deliciously cooked to perfection. All my guests loved the food. The service was excellent and everything was ready on time.

I tried this restaurant a few weeks ago and it was excellent! The food could not have been better and the staff and owners were so friendly and accommodating! it felt like I was eating at a relatives home! I will definitely go back- my dilemma now will be to try something new or get the Chicken Cacciatore again! Also looking forward to their spring menu!!! Decisions- decisions!!

I had a late night at work and did not want fast food , so I stopped in to pick up dinner. I ordered the beef stroganoff and my wife had the truffle steak with mashed potatoes . Both meals were hot, fresh, and full of flavor ! We were very happy that we have this healthy option so close to home. I recommend every that likes fresh , high quality , home cooked meals check this place out!

This place is amazing! Food is fresh, healthy, and very tasty! If you live in the surrounding area you know options for decent food are slim. This place has become a staple for me and my family. On top of all that, the customer service is wonderful! If your not sure about something they will let your try it and tell you all about it. Stop googling places to eat and just eat here!

Sometimes your orders right but most the time its wrong. The food is hit-or-miss. When its a hit its a really a hit but when its a mess it truly is a let down. I find so much inconsistency throughout my experiences with the runaway plate. I do have to say that make attempts to resolve customer service issues as quickly as possible and make the customer happy and the end.

Tonight was my first time at The Runaway Plate! The food was awesome!! I ordered the Pan Seared Chicken Breast with mashed potatoes and broccoli. It was a great meal and the portions were big...Ill have leftovers for lunch tomorrow! The owners and their staff were so welcoming!! Tonight might have been my first visit but wont be my last!

I visit Runaway Plate weekly! My favorite is the smothered pork chop, mashed potatoes, and Diva salad. Id give 5 stars but theyre sometimes out of items and plastic ware is not standard so is often forgotten when I ask for it. Anyway, those are very minor things which are overshadowed by the great food and amazing service for sure!

Everything was tasty, and the crew was very thoughtful. I got the Apple & Cranberry Pork Chop. My sides that came with it from the sides menu were the Diva Salad and the mashed potatoes. The kids menu offered some alternatives--finally--to most places chicken fingers and hotdog. Juniors pasta was great with tender chicken.

Always a good, healthy and fast alternative when you cant cook for whatever reason. Dinning in with kids is nice too, since they have a few toys for entertainment. The bonus for ST residents is that you can walk here, which beats the heck out of fighting traffic to get to a restaurant in the evenings.
