We visited Don Pedro on the south side of San Antonio on Friday 4/2/09 and the building looks nice but the management is bad and the food is not as good as the reviews say. I ordered the nacho plate and enchilada plate the nachos were delicious the enchiladas were cool and hard tortillas were used to make them. I had not seen our waiter so I went looking for the manager, and let him know how I felt about the food and said I did not want to pay the 15% gratuity because my guest were having to get their own tea refills and the waiter was no were to be found. He said thats no problem we will remove the plate and remove gratuity I thanked him and went back to table. When we were ready to leave we received the check and the plate was still on the ticket. I said to the waiter the manager was going to remove off ticket the waiter said no you already ate some off the plate so you have to pay. I offered to pay for the other plates but not the bad plate. The manager said no I was only going to remove the gratuity only and I should have let the waiter know at the time I received the plate this was a complete 360 from the attitude he gave me as I was describing the problem 15 min earlier. I again said I am only going to pay for what we have eaten and I said was leaving at this time the manager called the police. I asked for the owners phone number so I could call him or her in the morning so they could know how they are treating the customers he introduced me to some one claiming to be the owner, he also said I had to pay for the plate I mentioned that I would tell all who would listen about my experience he said so what and he did not need customers like me . After about 30 min going back and fourth the manager changed his attitude and said I am here to help you let me take the plate off ticket my wife then paid for the order and we left, All of this over a 6.99 plate I will never return and I will share this bad experience with as many people as possible.

If you are looking for a good experience. ..Dont come to this place. From the time we came into this place everybody was rude. The waiter couldnt get our order right. I After he came back with the most disappointing first two plates (all burnt)....we asked the waiter for the rest of the order and he didnt know what was it. We waited 45 min and while we never received a refill on our drinks we asked then for the manager.....after a long time this lady came in and all she said was imy sorry Im sorry... I Told her to cancel the order and she walked away making us wait again for a while. She started walking with someone who seemed to be either the manager or the owner towards my table after he looked and made all kind of faces she went to the register. ...she never made it to us. I finally walked up to her and asked her what was going on and she said. .."oh youre good to go" I said youre not charging us?and she said "no".... I got it all out of my chest telling her it was not about the money but I was really disappointed with the whole experience. ..all she did was smiled. .. So, DONT EVER GO THERE because you know if their management is not willing to face their customers they dont care

To start our meal off we were served somewhat stale chips with awful "hot sauce" that seemed more like cocktail sauce youd serve with seafood. Their sweet tea was great, which is always a perk! Despite coming at a busy time (7p), we placed our order (Dinner special #1 w/ 2 cheese enchiladas, 2 puffy tacos, rice, beans, tortillas, and guacamole, and my husband had the Nachos rancheros), and maybe 5-8 mins later our food was served. Thats great that our food was served quickly, but our food was warm, not hot. We didnt even get the usual precaution, "Dont touch your plate, it is VERY HOT!" My husband enjoyed his nachos, and my plate was okay. The food is bland. My puffy tacos were bland and greasy, beans and rice needed salt and more flavor, and the tortillas werent warm, but still edible. If we happened to be in the area​, we may eat here again, but it isnt a restaurant we would recommend. Pros: A lot of food for the price Great sweet tea Quick service Great & somewhat attentive waitstaff Cozy, laid back environment Mariachi band Cons: Stale chips Poor quality "hot sauce" Despite the quick service, food is Luke warm, and not HOT

Not the same. We went last night Friday. We have not been there in 2 months. Arrived at 10pm and wasnt busy like it used to be on a Friday night. Hostess walked us to the back right away to be seated in a booth with food and trash on the floor under our booth. Empty beer bottle on window sill at our booth. Ordered No.5 which was on the menu under the Mexican plates noted on top ALL MEXICAN DINNER PLATES COME WITH RICE BEANS AND TORTILLAS which was misleading cause no.5 plate arrived with no beans. Rudy (manager apologized and said they are getting new updated menus soon) I also noticed 2 families in separate tables were loud and screaming at thier kids while thier kids were playing around the tables and opening all the sweet and low packets and playing with the containers and salt pepper shakers and left the area filthy. Staff went to clean half of it 15 minutes later. Rudy apologized and said he was short staffed and if there is anything he can do for us. Rudy was very nice and apologized. What happened to you Don Pedros? Hope to visit again and see it improved.

Ate here this morning and it was a complete disaster. First off waitress spills all of the drinks all over the table and soaked the inside of my handbag. I had my daughters iPad and beats headphones, my cell phone and battery charger, makeup, and a book I just bought and important papers all inside of my handbag. The manager came over and apologized and said he would comp my meal. After ordering, they forgot to bring out my childrens food, by the time we got their food set at the table, my plate of food was cold. Upon be given the receipt, turns out they still charged me for my plate. I asked the manager for a business card with his name on it and he hid, I literally waited half an hour for him to come and talk to me once more before leaving this establishment with a business card in hand and it never happened. Needless to say, my family and I will NOT be returning for ANY rhyme or reason. I recommend you and your family eat somewhere else.

LAST Saturday we had a party there for my boyfriend. It was reserved for 20 people but we had more. I paid with my credit card FOR my boyfriend and my dinner. When we were leaving we all were saying THANKS and goodbye to family , that my boyfriend forgot to get his deposit on the table he reserved. He went back and THEY GAVE HIM THE THIRD DEGREE ON who paid his meal and how How personal do they have to get HE HAD HIS ID IT TOOK A WHILE AND THEY INVESTIGATED the matter after a huddle OMG Just verify ID how embarrassing to get the deposit back change your policy and get IT straight THANK GOD family left THEY MADE HIM LOOK LIKE A CROOK HOW STUPID Enchillads corn tortilla not cooked just grease dipped and food was served warm, cold .HE WAS SO UPSET EMBARASED BY THE STAFF MAY 7 AT 2 PM
