We were excited to dine as we thought this place has lots of high reviews. Unfortunately, we were completely disappointed. We even ordered a lot of their menu just to try them. The cashier with glasses was unwelcoming (July 21, 2017, around 7:00 pm). With my wife, we ordered 6 different food, plus beverages. I was even thinking of getting another type of drink. Food was served quite fast. Out of the 6 orders, 4 were served. We just thought they were still making the other 2. After sometime, we asked the for the remaining 2. The server (older female) said she did not know, AND SHE DID NOT EVEN BOTHER TO ASK THE KITCHEN NOR THE CASHIER AND CAME BACK TO US. We were left to ask the cashier about the remaining order, she came to the table and look at served plates. Without talking much. Obviously, they forgot about it. (Thats fine, coz it happens). What we didnt like is neither the female server nor the cashier (especially) is even UNAPOLOGETIC. They had to send another guy to talk to us and explain. Oh by the way, we ordered in the menu Churros with Chocolate. When asked "Wheres the chocolate?" They were out of it. They did not even bother to tell us in advance. First time, Very Bad experience! Last thing, they dont have any straw. If you plan to use one, just bring one or DONT DINE HERE AT ALL!

Pesimo, No sirve pa nada y que venezolano este restaurante no sirve para un coño chico.. Le falta identidad a este lugar. Es toda una ofensa culinaria. Y el precio ni hablar, TOO MUCH $$ FOR WHAT THEY OFFER. You wont see me here ever again. See ya!

REALLY delicious and authentic Latin American Food! The arepas in particular are a treat, but Ive really never ordered anything here that I didnt enjoy. All-day Sunday Brunch is also nice and this restaurant fill up as fast as fast as some other Evanston restaurants do for brunch on weekends. Service is extremely good as well-- you can tell the owners care a lot about their customers. Overall, very clean, quick, and tasty!

This place is a food truck turned restaurant establishment. I really enjoyed their beef arepa and chicken arepa, but the beef one slightly more. It was satisfying for a lunch meal in terms of taste, portion, and price. I was quite full after just 2 arepas. It is messy to eat. Theres a self-serve cup of cucumber water.

Nice Venezuelan food, try the pork patacones :D Muy buena comida venezolana con estilo local, los tostones de cochino son lo maximo :D

Food was fantastic. Got 2 Pabellon Arepas, which was a fun variation on a taco that satisfied my craving but wasnt your standard taco. The plantain really added an interesting flavor. Also got the chips and salsa, which as you can see was also a unique variation! Definitely recommend checking it out!

La Cocinita has a wide array of delicious and authentic offerings for a reasonable price. I enjoyed the Carne Asada Patacones because of thr crispy plantains and the flavorful and juicy steak. If you are looking for a quick but fantastic bite to eat, check out La Cocinita!

Yum yum yum num num num. Had the arepas, shared the beef and the chicken. The beef was my favorite. Service was quick and its definitely not over priced. I can highly recommend stopping by for lunch.

The food is delicious, but I wish they served regular tap instead of cucumber - infused water. Luckily they have bottled water, and so I can keep eating here.
