When we walked in we asked to sit at the bar tinker mass myself and my husband John David sat down at the bar we waited for literally about 10 minutes when I finally ask the bartender can we have some service at that time he looked at me and he said oh Im sorry and brought us some water and some menus , we weighted again for about another 5 to 7 minutes when I asked the bartende can I have some wine for me and my friend tinker , it took some time again but he finally served me a glass of wine and went on to his other tickets never serving my friend Tinker right next to me after she told him my bill is on a separate ticke, the bartender never came back to serve my friend at that time I asked a server can we have a table because we are not being served here at the bar and they said yes, a short small waitress came by and said she would take care of us she brought us glasses of water and three menus and about that same time my friend Tinker ask the waitress for her glass of wine the wine never came at that time I spoke to the hostess or at least I thought he was a tall Slender Man with red hair and a long beard, at this point I am upset and I told him what was going on that we were not receiving good service and it was actually horrible the same man tells me , sorry but we are short staff and the waitress and bartender were overwhelmed I told him Im sorry that is not my problem I told him the situation at the bar that when we ask for two glasses of wine I the male received a glass of wine and my female friend did not get her glass he perceives to tell me Im sorry he was probably looking for a bottle of wine when in reality he was serving other people and what really took all three of us back is he actually looked at me right in my face and said you are not the only one expecting good service . My first reaction was wow!!!! how dare you talk to me this way when you just gave me a menu with prices like this meaning this establishment is not cheap but yet we are not expected to receive good service because thats exactly what your employee told us we had to just get up and walk out

Stella Public House is more or less a socially trendy, local-sourced ingredient pizza and beer house in the Blue Star area. Nothing at all wrong with that. What Ill say about this place is the food really is prized. Its as fresh as the stuff I bring home from a weekend Farmers Market, if not more so. We started with Sweet Potato Gnocchi in a pancetta and Parmesan cream sauce. Yeah, theres no need to talk at length about this one. Its as good as it sounds. The cream sauce was ridiculously good. The only quibble is the gnocchi could have been better seared to deliver more crunch. We had for our entree the Spicy Italian Sausage Pizza. The sausage was so fresh, handmade, and so delicious (yep, its what they claim and its true). The sauce of the tomatoes is naturally sweet without much other seasoning - so delicious. The crust is cooked with a slight char, is crunchy, and was delicious. The handmade cheese and the pepperoni from a local farm just accented it all very well. This pizza might not quite be my absolute favorite in town in regards to taste and comfort, but there is no doubt the freshness, quality, and nutrition of this pizza was leagues above anything else offered in San Antonio. We finished with a salted caramel panna cotta with brulee banana and vanilla almond biscotti. This is everything I ever wanted in a dessert, especially the creamy, dairy flavor from the panna cotta and the sinfully sweet house-made caramel. In short, Stella Public House is steller. The quality is unmatched, and the food was great in all three courses I tried. My top 5 pizza places are now: 1) Florios, 2) Julians New York Style Pizza, 3) Stella Public House, 4) Dough Pizzeria Napoletana, and 5) Trilogy Pizza and Wine Bistro.

Every time Ive come here the service has been iffy. Its like the the staff doesnt care about their customers and just waiting for the next one. A group of 5 of us tried going this weekend, but when I tried to make a reservation they said its only for parties of 6 and up. We got there and the hostess gave us a 20 to 30 minute wait. We waited 20 minutes and when I asked how much longer she couldnt give a defiant answer and said nothing had really changed and there was a reservation coming in so they would have priority. She really didnt seem to care one bit so we left. I didnt mention that I tried making a reservation since her lack of trying to be helpful was a real turn off. We ended up going somewhere down the street where we had no issues getting service right away.

My wife and I went to unwind after work. We sat at the bar. Beer selection was ok. Nothing outstanding. Lamb meatballs were great. Pizza was just ok. The place is a overpriced. And the service was just ok. The bartender was our server and not very attentive. He and a young lady (with a baby) at the end of the bar were in a loud conversation. They kept talking over us so we finished up and left. There was a very nice server my wife spoke to as we leaving. Maybe the experience would have been better if he was our server and we didnt sit at the bar with the young lady and her baby. It was awkward. Who brings their baby to a bar? Other then the meatballs I wouldnt go again.

Stella was originally one of our favorite places in San Antonio, but after a recent menu change, we are unlikely to return. First, the delicious-looking Brussels sprouts (their featured photo) served in a small cast iron have been replaced with dry, unseasoned sprouts with a small pinch of cheese. Gone are their warm Caesar salad and sweet potato suasuage pizza, too. The worst, though, was the blondie our friend ordered at the end of a recent trip. It was completely bone-dry, made worse by the addition of sticky caramel and a single pretzel. Its a shame because this place was so great, but I am no longer recommending it to anyone.

So first and foremost this is the best pizza you will find in Texas. I go the pulled pork and pepperoni with caramelized onion. They asked if we wanted a sunny side up egg on it,and the rule that says eggs make everything better remains true. Also the small plates of mac and cheese mushrooms, lamb meatballs, and the fresh bread are just amazing combination. Its like a delicious sandwich you can make. Go hear spend your money. At first you might be like its pricey but trust me its worth every penny. Will come back every chance I can.

I will really say i was very impressed. The service become extra special and not as soon as changed into my glass of wine ever empty. I experience as if every person must forestall by at the least once and attempt the food. you may not be disenchanted. in addition they gave a mess of craft beers on draft and feature a very giant menu. additionally they have high-quality outside seating at the patio and its far proper next door to an ice cream save which means ice cream right after pizza is continually excellent.
