This is the pizza spot youve been looking for if you care about good pizza. It is in a dive part of town but from the minute I walked in I could tell I was in for something special. I ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and mushroom and a medium wigh pepperoni, mushroom and ham. These are super fresh ingredients that they use. The ham was cube diced which was different but awesome. The crust though is where its at. It looks almost like pretzel crust but its not. It was soft but hard enough to hold on my toppings, cheese and sauce. I didnt even bother to sit at a table. The owner made great conversation so I just sat in a chair in the front order area and talked and ate. He really cared about all his customers he had in the restaurant, making dishes personally and the staff was really friendly. Save yourself the heartache of searching online for the "perfect" pizza spot. Go here, you wont be sorry. I gave it 4 stars because nothing in this world is 5 stars. I know, i travelled in the Navy all over the planet looking for it.

Amazing! We pulled up and were initially hesitant but luckily we didnt judge this book by its cover. Upon entering, we were greeted with the most genuinely pleasant workers that immediately engaged me in casual conversation while I waited for my pizza. The owner was an extremely amicable cute little old man whose main focus it seemed was to make everyone seem comfortable in his cozy pizzeria. When my pizza was brought out to me, it was accompanied with a free liter of coke from Mexico made with real sugar cane. And as if that wasnt enough the owner gave me a free baklava aka "pilon" apparently thats anything extra in mexico. All of this before we got to the delicious pizza! We ordered the supreme and enjoyed every bite. The crust has just the right amount of chew. Oh and the free baklava was incredible!!!! This place is definitely deserving of 5 stars.

Not expected on this side of town. Small but well run location with friendly staff, fresh food made to order and prices better than the run of the mill national chains. Owner and staff are very accommodating and talkative. Had the wings (a little more expensive per wing in smaller amounts but beating the big names in per wing price for a 20 or 30 piece order), the 18" extra large "cuy cuy" pizza and a gyro. All recommended, made on the spot while the staff engaged us in conversation. A goods mix of both traditional and some ethnic oriented toppings and specialties (not just the local variety) as well. Definitely going to return again to try some of the less conventional choices; all this coming from a Chinese guy from California, Alabama, Washington and now San antonio

This is the second time weve come to this place for our Pizza craving, the first we ordered Pick-Up and It was really cheesy and fresh. Yesterday we came back to sit in and eat and it was even better! They recommended the Mango Habanero Wings and they were delisssshh! My two year old daughter ate two and a half slices of pizza, it was sooo good and fresh. The vibe of the shop was very home-like and we felt comfortable and not rushed the whole time. Overall Id say this is our new pizza spot even though we live a little more on the Northwest side, it is definitely worth the drive for us. :)

Went there for dinner tonight. From the look of the outside you would not think the food would be very good, but I must say it borders magical in my opinion. Pizza crust is one of the best I have ever had. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. The toppings were seemed very, very fresh. Health inspection pasted to the front wall said a score of 100 for 3 inspections in a row it looked like. The staff were very friendly, Jeremiah is a fantastic guy. I wish there was one closer to me on the NE side.

Just bought a Medium Calzone. One word: perfect. My husband and I love to support our community & eat at local mom & pop restaurants. This is definitely one well try to frequent. The aroma of the freshly baked Calzone filled our car. My husband said it "smelled like a bakery", which is a good thing :) Not only did it smell great, it tasted phenomenal. Safe to say we found a little gem. A friend had recommended it a while back. I dont know why we didnt try it sooner. Thanks, yall.

I travel the country and the world. Grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and I am always searching for a pizza place that has good Italian sausage on a pizza. I was awesomely surprised by their sausage pizza- not shaved off of a sausage type food block, in fact their sausage is made fresh just blocks away from their restaurant. Service was great, the cheese on the pizza was classic, and the staff was a breath of fresh air to my work day! You gotta check them out!

She aint purty, but she is so tasty! I have to say the pizza was pure awesomeness! The crust was so soft....somewhere in between the softness of a fresh made donut and the softness of a breadstick! Amazing. Now with that being said, the restaurant is kinda run down (Im being polite), but be a brave soul and do a takeout! It was impressive enough I am still giving 5 full stars....that says a lot for me. Try it and I think you will not be sorry! Kudos!

Great and friendly workers but the pizza taste like something youd buy from walmart frozen, and the chicken wings is mostly fat. To top that the lack of sauce is underwhelming. I figured a 4.7 with 100 reviews would give me 4.7 food but its more like 2.3. Id give a 2 because the workers are great and the .3 because they made the food to order but i wasnt expecting what i got. so in short the reviews are inflated and are not reflective of the food

I would have taken a photo of my pizza, but I ate it. Im so glad that I discovered Gallo Pizzeria. The customer service is top notch, the restaurant has an old school pizza shop feel and the actual pizza pies are awesome! I love how they prepare the sausage and the veggies on my suprema were crispy and perfect. I love all types of pizza crusts, and Gallos is great. Almost like a buttery, pretzel bread consistency. Loved it.

San Antonio pizza was ruined for me after I visited both NYC and Chicago to settle the "Which style is better?" question. Fortunately for me, I took a chance on Gallo Pizzeria. Macs pizza is quite tasty, and has a unique San Antonio flair. The cheesy bread is great, and the wings make a surprisingly nice accompaniment to your meal. Mac continuously improves his product, too, and is receptive of feedback.

Gallo Pizzeria is one of the greatest underrated and unknown dining establishments in the state of Texas. Not only are the owners and staff amazing, but the pizza is on their level. Great quality product, Whimsical and inventive Creations on unique Pizza specialties, and just a great overall experience. If you come to San Antonio you better make your way down to Castroville Road and grab a slice.

Great, mom and pop pizzeria!!! This place is a hidden treasure in the heart of west side of San Antonio, Texas. They have great pizza and pastas as well as a very family oriented, Fun loving atmosphere. If youre affiliated with Our Lady of the Lake University come on in and enjoy a great 10% discount. My family and I highly recommend Gallos pizzeria especially during their lunch buffet.
