Did I come in at a weird time? The food was mediocre and that might be too much of a compliment. Service was really awkward...Perhaps its because we were a party of 4, but only ordered 3 dishes that they assumed we were going to share food...Ive never been offered empty plates to share without asking. Then I was like okay, whatever..I ordered the green curry with CHICKEN. I dont know where other people come from, but I expect food in a bowl or a plate. How did two RAW pieces of chicken end on the bottom of my curry bowl? Ugh. Totally lost my appetite then...The curry wasnt even that flavorful either. All I tasted was spice.. I thought I was supposed to have a CHICKEN curry, not a bamboo shoot curry. There were at most 2 pieces of chicken in that curry..perhaps the one outside my bowl were supposed to be cook and inside instead. Who knows? The weirder thing is that the person who was cooking, kept going in and out of the kitchen and handing out the checks to customers. Um... what? Isnt that what the waitress supposed to do? Sanitation is important, how do you handle money and cook at the same time is beyond me.. I just got home, so Im still hoping I dont get sick...from the raw chicken and money-handling chef... Not coming back here anytime soon. There are plenty other regular places Id rather go to than try this place again.

Boon Chu Thai is my to-go-to Thai restaurant! I usually go about twice a month. It seems to be a family run operation with true grannies and grandpas cooking up a storm in the back. Their curry really packs a punch, the fried rice is always fresh, and their noodles are perfect consistency. Its really small, about 4 or 5 tables that can fit 2 - 4 people comfortably, but you can watch Elmhurst walk by while you eat or watch whatever they have on their big screen TV. Its very relaxing and homey. Their prices are also very reasonable for Thai food and the portions are large. They recently changed their menu and they have House Specialties on the board under the big screen TV. Its worth a try if youre ever in the area.

In the de facto Thai neighborhood of New York, Boon Chu is a very solid Thai restaurant. Its a very small space that seats a total of 10 or fewer patrons at a time. I have only had lunch here, so my experience with the menu isnt very extensive, but what I did try here was very good. The minced beef over rice is very simple, yet, very well flavored, savory and slightly sweet. The additional fried egg is done awesomely, nice a crispy on the outside, and still runny on the inside; a must have for any rice dish. The Thai sausage fried rice was done well also. Its the same as Chinese sausage, which always goes well with fried rice.

Expecting a delivery is the worst, especially when you order a Japanese specialty from a Thai place. I guess Im at fault for making such a venture and placing such confidence in the hands of this little place but the sukiyaki I ordered was absolutely horrendous. For a dish that requires thinly sliced pieces of beef and nicely stewed julienned vegetables, I have no understanding whatsoever as to how I found fishballs and crab legs in the porridgey, banal creation they sent me. Never again, Boon Chu. You had me with the silly cute little ice cream stand but this incident has utterly repulsed me

Real good thai food, and probably the only place in Elmhurst with an "A" grade sanitation. The pad thai is on point, and the noodles are proper tender. Their service is great and they have oppen natural lighting. It wasnt crowded the times i have been, so expect to enjoy yourself, portions and pricing is proper too.

My favorite place to get pad ka prow ground beef. Its not too spicy which I like and they give you enough to fill you up. They make the food fairly quick. The price is fair. I only wish they delivered but overall this place is my favorite for that one dish.

Reasonable pricing for food. Love their Pa Ka Prow and Thai Sausage Fried Rice. Their Hor Jor is great as a sharing appetizer as well. One of the best restaurants along this restaurant-filled street.
