Upon entering the restaurant I entered a dark dining room filled with people. I was not greeted and it took me a moment to realize that you have to walk through the dining room to the cash register in the back to order. The cashier was friendly and told me about the special which I ordered, additional toppings were .95. I paid with my card which had a blank for a tip which made me feel obligated to tip something even though there was no real waiter per say. My salad was small and mediocre, and my soda which they filled up with ice ran out quickly. A line had formed at the register so I asked the busser if there was a way I could get a refill without having to wait in line again. He told me the refill would be 50 cents. I told him that I only had my card. So he told me that there is a 5 minimum. Rather than just give me the refill which would have been good customer service, he asked me to hold on, walked away, started doing other business and helping other customers. He never returned to my table. Despite the fact that I thought the pizza was pretty good I will never go back there again.

I had always seen this restaurant whenever I was driving home from SAC, and was completely unaware of what this restaurant had to offer until I finally came here a few days ago. It was one of the best decisions I could have made on that day. The food is reasonably priced, and the pizza sizes are very large when compared with the pizzas available at national chains (their "small" pizza is 14", which is the size of a "large" pizza at both Dominos and Papa Johns). My girlfriend ordered some spaghetti and some cannoli, and the pasta was fresh. The canollis are made in house, and are also very fresh. The dining environment is relatively quiet, even if the restaurant is situated on the side of a very busy street , and the music selection (mostly swing and big band) is very classy. The people both at the counter, and the servers are very personable. Altogether, the food was great and priced in a very reasonable fashion, the dining atmosphere is great, the staff provides excellent service, and I feel that I will be coming back to this restaurant again in the near future.

In the past, I really enjoyed eating at Main Street, despite the lengthy delay for food, especially during the lunch hour, when timeliness is a necessity. But, the staff has become very rude, impolite and indifferent. Recently, my order was not only incorrect, but late and cold. Rather than serve the pizza on wheat, as ordered, it was served on white bread, after having waited about one-half hour for the meal. Then, they demanded more money to fix the order. Everyone has a bad day, and makes mistakes. However, incompetence coupled with arrogance and indifference is the recipe for a poorly managed business. Make the order right with an apology - then you confirm you will retain good customers. It is unfortunate, but if you are restricted to time, expect high quality food and believe professionalism should accompany service, spend your money elsewhere. Also, they are very hesitant to provide receipts for bills paid - wonder why?

This is by far one of my favorite places to grub! I mainly dine in on Saturday evenings which usually means the place is pretty packed, but we always find a place to sit and receive our food in a decent amount of time. The cashier is always so polite and friendly, as is the rest of the staff. The customer service is also one of the reasons we have been loyal customers for so many years. Our food is always hot and delicious (My favorite is the Grilled Chicken Salad with Italian Dressing, I like to add grilled pepperoni as well.) Every time I dine in, I never know what to order because everything is so good and I know I will never be disappointed. I give Main Street Pizza and Pasta 5 stars. From the friendly faces that know me by name (and order) to the quality of the food, Main Street Pizza and Pasta really is the Main Place to Eat.

I have eaten at this place twice now....had the spaghetti with marinara sauce the first time and it was very good. The foccacia/garlic bread was awesome, very fresh and even though the salad was fresh and topped with what I asked for (no extra charge) it was quite small...but everything was filling :) my second experience, however; was not as good....the 9" pizza was not round at all and looked like it slid off the tray and they caught it just in time. It was also way too thin and a bit burnt for my taste.....and finally, been feeling very sick all afternoon with a headache since eating there :( Im not so impressed with this place right now. I will not recommend Main Street Pizza anymore unless I try you guys one more time and have an excellent experience with no sick feeling afterwards.

First, the parking here is atrocious. Second, they would be better served if they had a wait staff that took orders. I would hate to be one of the guests who were sitting next to the long line of people waiting to place their order at a counter in the back of the restaurant. Theres nothing like peoples butts hanging out at table level to prep the appetite. Third, if you are ordering food to go, it is impossible to find a place to wait where you arent constantly in the way. Fourth, why did I have to pay extra for my to go order, rather than eating in? Fifth, your pizza was extremely salty. It was almost unpalatable. Finally, I will not recommend you to anyone, and I am baffled as to why you have a 4.3 star rating on Google.

Great place for all kinds of Italian food. The no longer serve the Canneloni losyed on the google menu but they still have the manicotti. We had that, the spinach lasagna and the fettuccine Alfredo and all were awesome. The Tira Misu is consistently excellent whenever they have it. You can pay 2 or 3 times more for similar quality Italian food and only match this so dont be deceived by the places hole on the wall pizzeria look. Thus is great food at cheap prices and theres nothing better than finding one of those places except when you crave it and they are closed because its Sunday. Alas, we did return the following Tuesday for the food mentioned above and to satisfy our cravings. Mission accomplished.

Been going there for years. You walk in order your food at the counter and the food is brought to your table. With a student ID you get a free sweet tea. Its pretty affordable and the things I order are usually the combos so it comes with the salad, entree, and pizza slice size piece of bread. Its good. Im not going to say it is an explosion of flavor but its good and it wont disappoint you size wise. My favorite part is the fact that I can get my own drink and my own take out box without having to ask a waiter or anything for it and then hoping they remember me and actually bring what I asked for.

Ive been going here for two years now since I moved to San Antonio from the Bay area. Its a quick bite around 2pm, pretty inexpensive for good pizza, and the staff is always really nice. I feel comfortable enough to bring a book and eat alone here. The only reason Im giving the restaurant 4 stars instead of 5 is because I had the Main Street combo (pizza) the other day and it was so phenomenal that I needed a beer to go with it. No beer. Boo. (Found out its BYOB, but Im too lazy to BMOB.)
