I met some friends for dinner at the Richardson, TX Fox and Hound. The atmosphere is a sports bar. Lots of large TV screens and loud music. They asked us for our ID (not just to show it, but to take it out and hand it to them) and put it through a scanner. That was a little off-putting for starters. We asked about the soup/salad combos because we wanted salads with mixed greens rather than mostly iceberg. When the order arrived, it was mostly iceberg and, overall, a small portion for a dinner salad. OK, so maybe Fox and Hound is not the place to go for a good salad. We ordered dessert - a fresh made large cookie with two scoops of ice cream to share between the three of us. It was delivered without the ice cream and the waitress walked away with no explanation. I found her with the menu in hand and asked about the ice cream. She said she was new and would go check on it. She came back and said all of the ice cream was locked up and they had to find someone with a key. (!!) She returned to say there was no ice cream, sorry. We shrugged and said "Well, take a couple of bucks off of the price and that will be fine." It was a $4.19 menu item WITH the two scoops of ice cream. She replied she would ask the manager and see what he said. When she returned, I expected her to say that the dessert was going to be taken off of our ticket with deepest apologies from the manager for the inconvenience. Instead she said he would only deduct $1.05 So, we paid $3.14 for a cookie. Maybe the logic is that their money comes from people who stay to drink and play pool. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived and when we left as well, around 7pm on a Saturday night. SUMMARY: portions are small, music/sports TV is too loud for conversation, and customer service is not top priority. And salads are bad. We are not planning to return to Fox and Hound.

Hostess was snotty/rude. Waitress gave impression that waiting on us was an inconvenience. Server took a long time to come to table or return to table with drinks ordered. The place was not busy, so no excuse there. Several staff did gather at host desk to do what seemed to be a session of talking smack about people. It was a nice loud social event for them. Too bad they werent paying attention to the clients that are here. Food was too pricey for what you get. Example: small side of coleslaw $2.50. They dont tell you what type of fish is in their battered fish N chips. Their idea of grilled veggies is Zucchini onions and bell pepper....seriously? Food was not brought at same time. Was also served by someone elsr who likely was paying attn to the food sittimg under the lamp. We wont be returning. Horrible service, loud staff not paying attention to customers and pricey food not served at same time... still waiting on my food, guest already had their appetizer and main coarse. Ridiculous! Finally came with our server who even said it should have been brought with the rest of the food. OMG there was very little amount of the spinach artichoke dip. Maybe 3 ounces at tops. With a huge stack of chips. I would have been done with the appetizer in 6 chips...seriously and for what they charge. My guest states her burger is dry. She needs the waitress who is nowhere again. Seems they didnt bother to put aioli sauce. This place has gone to the crapper in the past 5 years.

This place makes me depressed that I live in Dallas. Why bar owners never even stop once to think that they have A LOT of female patrons AS WELL is beyond me!!! Walking in and being immediately surrounded by a bunch of 19 year old girls with fake breast and tiny skirts that have an attitude from the get go if you are also a woman because they just assume they wont get tipped as well is NOT exactly my idea of a good time. The staff is slow as satan and very rude. The beer is grossly overpriced and HEY DALLAS, GET A SMOKING BAN!!!!!! I promise you leave this place reeking of a chiminey. Which stinks even more in the winter when you have to bring a jacket. I will say that you can get an OK selection of beer here, which is something. At least its not all Bud Light. This is why I am going to be nice and give this place two stars. Also, remember to watch out for puke when you go to the bathroom.

I honestly dont understand how this place stays in business. Im guessing it is a combination of location and the thirsty business travelers from one of the many hotels nearby that just dont know any better - it certainly is not the service or the food. On my last visit it was a semi slow night. Expect your glass to stay empty for a while, and when they do finally take your order I suggest you apologize to the waiter or waitress because they have much better things to be doing than serving food (at least that is the impression I got). The food? Overpriced is an understatement. Typical bar food at a premium price. Ive had better meals for 99 cents that were cooked in the microwave at 7-11. If your in the area, do yourself a favor and skip this place. Richardson has much better to offer in this category and price range.

Their policy outside the restaurant says government issue id, however, this management accepts only tx ids which they make their own policy according to the people who wants them to enter. Their management has lack of communication skills. When they scan your id, they give you the copy of scanned information to sign so make sure to ask what the data entry complete means. They may be selling your texas id information to marketers so dont be sad when telemarketers call you back because this companys crm system could cause problems by scanning your texas id. Beware, never be near to this location!!!

This place really is too pretentious. The drinks are way over priced and the waitstaff is slow and sucks. Only one bar in such a huge place? Also the female manager walks around and puts her nose up at everyone. Very unfriendly. They had knats by the draft beer dispenser. I ended up with one if my beer. It was disgusting. But, if you like bugs in your beer and bad service, youll love this place. Oh, the food is a little decent but nothing you cant get at a fast food chain.

my wife and I came in May 7th 2016 to watch the canelo alvarez fight usually I have no problem coming in. This time my wife who is a permenant resident showed her work authorization ID. The woman at the front told us this was not a valid ID. We insisted this is a FEDERAL ISSUED identification but she denied us entry . This was really ignorant , and this ID is accepted by TABC. Safe to say I will not be returning to this establishment.

Alienated a part of their customer base by only showing the UFC fights in the non-smoking side. If you are going to separate the place into smoking and non-smoking areas, then do as you used to do where everyone coming in pays to watch the fights and it is shown everywhere in the place. Used to enjoy this place, but not anymore. My friends and I took our business to Wizards instead. They were happy to get our business.
