Most of the food and drinks I have tried here are decent to good, but the service I have received on multiple occasions has motivated me to write this review and never eat here again. The first few visits over more than a year and a half yielded servers that were less than attentive. Took forever to place orders, get drink refills, etc. Ive worked in the service industry and I understand work can get busy, but the service is consistently like that here. This last visit really put the nail in the coffin. Our server was downright unpleasant. She was working the rooftop patio on a Friday evening, and not once did we see her smile or act like she cared or wanted to be there. We had to flag her down multiple times to put in a drink order or ask for more chips. Last time I checked, a server should check in with her tables periodically. When one of us would say something like "Can I get another Margarita please?", she wouldnt even respond with words, shed just grunt and look inconvenienced. When shed deliver the drinks, wed say "thank you" as she set them down, and not once did she reply with a courtesy "youre welcome". I was with a group of about 8, and luckily our group just turned the awful service into a joke. If we hadnt been able to find the humor in it, it really wouldve ruined the evening. I felt like I was paying to be treated like crap, and I will NEVER waste my time or money at this establishment again. This was their first visit to Urban Rio for some of my friends, and they were appalled too. If you want good food and good service, there are tons of other restaurants you can visit in the area. The food and atmosphere cannot overshadow the terrible service and rude employees.

First I will say I didnt come to have a proper meal here. First thing I saw on the table by the salt and pepper shakers was a green thing wrapped in white paper. Turned out it was chewing gum. Let our server know and she went "EW!" (after she came by and served us a couple of times... and totally ignored it...) Yeah, "ew", indeed... Theres one table busser that needs to be fired... Moving on - Just in for a couple beers with chips and salsa. First the salsa. Not much more than tomato sauce. Blah. Needed salt and some acidity and much more. Black bean dip tasted strange - why, I wondered. Ordered guacamole. Simply mashed avocado - that isnt guacamole. No salt, garlic, onion lime juice etc. Queso was good enough. But back to the bean dip. Im still wasnt sure. There was something that was really off here... Beer was nice and cold. Upstairs bar was really nice too. A place I wouldnt mind at all kicking back and enjoying a cold one. But I couldnt get my mind off the bean dip... reminded me of oranges... Why??? It suddenly hit me. It had CORIANDER in it! What??? Did they mean to use cumin? Did some bonehead in the kitchen pick up the wrong spice jar and dump it in the beans??? Sigh. Glad I didnt have a meal!

Ten of us there on Mothers Day 2017. Seated downstairs. Great view of the under staffed kitchen. Seated without any menus or water. Our waiter Michael had way too many tables. Staff running around without any clear direction. Took at least 45 mins to get our appetizers then another hour to get our food; no kidding. Small portions. Bill not correct. Expensive drinks. Hostess dropped a plate of food right behind our table and no one cleaned it up for the two hours we were there. Seriously it was that bad. I understand it was Mothers Day but come on, staff up for it. I wouldve complained to the manager but I didnt see anyone that seemed to be in charge. Just an under staffed kitchen and not enough waiters. The only plus this place has is the atmosphere but even that doesnt make up for a diasterous dinner that started out as lunch, if you get what I mean. If you want to have a few drinks on the upper patio/balcony and take in the views this might be the place but until management gets things under control and properly staffed for crowd size, dont waste your time. It does have the atmosphere but that alone doesnt make up for everything else.

This restaurant is absolutely BEAUTIFUL on the inside. I have had nothing but GREAT experiences here. The very first time we visited, my drink took a little longer than it should have. Not enough to be a big deal or for me to say anything, just long enough for me to notice. The general manager (who is a rockstar and is constantly moving and working like crazy) came to give me my drink and apologized profusely. Of course it was fine! To my surprise, he had actually taken it off of the bill just for being a couple of minutes late! The only reason Im giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because theyre a little pricy, but still so amazing! Try the grilled avocado. Youll shed actual tears its so delicious haha. All of the waiters are super kind. Both bar tenders Ive had are great and have both made me custom drinks since Im not knowledgeable about alcohol and didnt quite know what I wanted. This place is great. 10/10 recommend to everyone!

Went to eat and try new place. 3 levels to choose from. Bottom obviously for family seating..Dirty floors and tables Everywhere. Decided to try second floor. Yikes!! Lighting was so low I had to keep looking down to see if anything was going to trip me. Sat at bar. Waited 5 minutes for 1 of 5 bartenders to notice me. Asked for a drink that was splashed onto bar without notice. No napkin, no sorry. No menu offered, or seen. Watched another patron work his way through various spots trying to get noticed. He gave up and left. Left money on bar and left. Couldnt wait to leave. 6/19/2017--4:15pm.. Well what a difference. Night to Day. Stephanie Crawford it was a Pleasure to meet you, finally, and have a fabulous lunch experience. 5-Stars on this Visit...Daytime is a dining pleasure. Patio seating. Music at the right level. Attentive Staff. Ill be back for sure.

This place was a GREAT find for my whole family, especially since am a very picky eater with allergies to processed food (chemicals). The food is very tasty and fresh! Theres NOTHING I have reacted to so far, which is a really good indicator of just how fresh their food is. Weve tried an assortment (tacos, nachos, quesas, grilled fished, tamale pot pie, skewers, etc.) at different times and they have delivered on all fronts (quality, service, etc.), plus its a very nice and relaxing atmosphere. Downstairs is most suitable for family while upstairs is perfect for dates and after hours crowd. There was a really good solo live musician/guitarist last time we went on friday with girlfriends. He was really good and fun. However, my Houstonian friends thought the Margaritas just didnt measure up. I wouldnt know a good margarita if it hit me on the face.

Well, I wanted to love this place.- it wasnt a busy night. It was Sunday about 7pm - We were celebrating something very special, horrible service, HORRIBLE. We sat there 10 minutes without being acknowledged even though there was a waitress and a bartender chit chatting staring right at us. The queso was amazing and the margarita was Pretty good, but he "made fresh guacamole" was not made fresh and it was not good - the entries were mediocre and the smores dessert was actually really cool! But service and the fact that the place was filthy gives this two stars. We actually had to clean our Daly and pepper shakers and they were black and caked with God knows what! I might give it one more try. Maybe
