Horrible service and horrible food. Lets start off by saying when we walked in we were not greeted they just asked how old our children were and proceeded to sit us down. There was hardly anyone there and we realized why. The table they wanted to sit us at was dirty so we asked for a booth. Once seated we were asked what we wanted to drink without giving us options. No big deal we generally order the same items for beverages but then when we went to the Mongolian BBQ area the steak had already turned and was almost completely green and brown. The food was obviously sitting out too long and there wasnt much chicken and when my wife asked if they could bring more the man behind the area just stared at us. My wife, oldest son and I went to put our selections on the top of the bar area so the man behind the food prep area could make our food and he just took the bowls and sat them down behind there and walked back over by the Sushi. We waited for a while and looked at the rest of the buffet and the options looked completely unappetizing and disgusting. The Sesame and General Tsos Chicken were literally in a sauce that looked like soup with a ton of grease. There were even flies all around the buffet near the cocktail shrimp and down near the salad area. After looking over the rest of the buffet the man still had not went to cook our food and we then went to sit down and he literally had our raw food just sitting there for over 15 minutes waiting to be cooked. When he finally cooked the food and rang the bell to let us know it was ready we brought it back to the table and IMMEDIATELY spit the food back out. It was absolutely DISGUSTING. No flavor and horrible taste. At this point our youngest child had eaten 2 pieces of the chicken on a stick and we had some of our drinks to try and get the awful taste out of our mouths. The waiter came to our table and picked up the 3 plates that were completely covered in food that had not been eaten and we asked to speak to the manager and he said "Oh no manager here tonight" and then just walked away. So we decided to go up front and speak with someone. All of a sudden the girl at the front cashier and register area got the "owner" to come talk to us. We explained that we were not satisfied with the service nor the food and that we were not going to pay for our meals since 3 out of the 4 of us did not eat. He said "NO YOU MUST PAY, Not all the food was bad you ate food". He was yelling at my wife and I at the front counter and being extremely verbally harassing and abusive and proceeded to speak Chinese to the two other women that were up there as well. At this point my wife told him to have a goodnight and we walked outside to call the Police. He stormed outside yelling at all 4 of us and I advised him we were calling the Police and he said he was too. He didnt call anyone but proceeded to yell and curse at me and made abusive threats that he was going to make me stay and pay. My wife called the New Braunfels Police and they showed up. He and his hostess agreed to have us only pay for the drinks and when my wife and I agreed to that he said "NO you pay half!! You pay half!!!" The Police officer even said that we just agreed with their offer to pay for drinks and now he is not wiling to take that. However, I was told if we didnt pay that I would be taken to jail for "Theft of Service". My wife agreed to pay and the "owner" continued to ramble on in his native language and harass me some more. After paying we put in a complaint to the FDA and local Health Department for Comal County. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG. Chief Ramsey could not save this place. From the moment I and my party walked into the door we were not greeted. The dude just stood there and looked at us. We looked at him. It was weird. Another party came in behind us and gave their party number and were seated before us. OK no big deal. We were asked what we wanted to drink. No drink selection offered so I have no idea if they serve beer or coke or gun powder tea but we all went with the water. And they have TVs blaring to MSNBC with backround music over the speakers so you cant really hear the music or the TV. Strangest of all they have spent over 5000 dollars on new large flat screens. But they wont replace their blinds, the mens room has no baby changing station and their is a pipe in the mens held up by a piece of wood. Onto the food. We spent 31 dollars for three people to spit food into napkins. This stuff was bad The Crab rangoons had nothing inside. It was just a fried shell. The sushi ...The sushi. It should be avoided at all costs as well as the spare ribs. My guess is that their ribs are dipped in candy apple coating. Disgusting. The soft serve ice cream... something youd think could not be messed up had black flakes in the chocolate and tasted ....like ...like awful, I threw it away in the bathroom trash. The rest of the desert bar comes out of a box. Premade cheese cake, premade puffs not even removed from their plastic container they were shipped in... Since they didnt make it I didnt try it. McDonalds would of been better.

After hearing glowing recommendations from friends about the Garden Buffet I stopped on my way back home to sample their fares today. It was not like the commercials, there was no sashimi, no chirashizushi, and no sushi rolls. I expected "rolls", people forget that "sushi" is simply the vinegered rice, not the fish. I had my hopes up for some fish or other seafood as sashimi, but there was none. There were however, plenty of sugar laden entrees. The chicken on a stick was remotely palatable, and the spicy chicken was at least blatantly average, but it was much less than I expected. A trip to my favorite sashimi place is more than $100 per person, so I guess I should expect to "get what I pay for". Garden Buffet is a very low budget place for people who really like sweet and sweet instead of sweet and sour, and people who have become accustomed to having a meal aspiring to be average with sugar/corn syrurp as the "secret ingredient" to virtually everything. Most importantly, please do not advertise having sashimi if you DO NOT HAVE SASHIMI.

It was an ordinary day and i decided why not go to china buffet, asoon as i arrived i saw a guy walk out that looked like a towell head then i walked in said hello at the person behind the cash register couldent tell if she was awake or not she was asian so yeah.
