The food is great. Excellent selection of sushi. All the fish was of excellent quality. However, the service was TERRIBLE. We went during normal evening dining hours on a weekday. They appeared under-staffed, though they were not particularly busy. We ordered the Yuyo boat and immediately met criticism from our waiter, "oh, people usually call ahead for this (In a condescending tone). This might take 30+ minutes." Oh, okay, Im sorry, this is our first visit. We received one entree, 10 minutes later our appetizers, followed by another entree, then another 10 minutes before we received our other 2 entrees. Our boat came in a timely manner. It was a constant struggle to get silverware, chopsticks, little boats for soy sauce, refills of drinks, etc. He eventually just gave us a pitcher of water so we could refill for ourselves. My husband ordered a sake, reminded our waiter about the a sake twice, and finally received it later in the meal, even though it was ordered before the food. There were only 5 tables seated when we went, and 2 waiters working the floor. There were 2 behind the sushi bar and Im unsure how many in the back. With fewer than 20 customers, I cannot understandhow everything was so complicated for our waiter. Additionally, our waiter, who is also apparently an assistant manager, complained to us about how he had to be called in to cover, droned on and on about moving, and then regaled us with a tale of how he beat his landlords dog to death with a baseball bat when the dog broke into his trailer home. The only reason they receive 2 stars at all is because the sushi and other entrees were excellent. We will not be back until I start hearing better things about their service. There are better options in Lubbock.

We went for the first time the other day, but Im not sure we will go back. I lived in Japan for a time and was really excited to have some Japanese food again, but the ramen we ordered wasnt very authentic. It was bland and had no taste at all. All the toppings that come with ramen were also absent, egg, naruto, ext. The meat was also chewy. The food isnt really Japanese, although they do offer some Japanese dishes, its more of a mixture of Asian foods. We did speak to the manager who was very nice and gave us a discount on the meal. We went ahead an ate it because we were starving, but we had to add a lot of soy sauce. She mentioned that Asians dont like salty food, but this ramen had zero taste. I didnt want to be rude because she was kind enough to discount the meal but I did live in Japan and the ramen was always flavorful. The staff was very nice and it was clean, but not the best.

They didnt have the option for negative stars so I had no choice but to give it one star. Food is highly overpriced.... Drinks were sour and bitter when we were told they were sweet. The steamed rice is flavorless and dry and the rest of the food wasnt much better. I ate a third of my beef and broccoli before I found a hair wrapped around a piece of the beef, by this point I was so discussed that I couldnt eat-so she took the food away, saying that it might have been my hair and didnt comp my meal since she comped our drinks already. The management was informed and I was given a $15 gift certificate...I tried to use it on the meal and they wouldnt let me. Said that it had to be on my next visit ...as I will never go there again we left the gift certificate there. Its Christmas time and I couldnt even bare to give it as a gift! :( Dont waste your time! Horrible!!!!

Ordered chicken fried rice and Kimchi fried rice. Both orders came out room temperature.... the Kimchi rice tasted great it was just cold. The chicken fried rice smelled "fishy". I told the wait her and the manager and they asked what they could bring me and I asked for egg rolls. I waited 10 min and the egg rolls came out and they could be held in your hand with no heat to them at all..... the manager did apologize and offered free desert however they did NOT deliver. If you want warm food do not go here and do not order a chicken dish as Im sure it was improperly cooked!

Waitress service was great even with a slight language barrier but the food/ingredients is cooked to a buffet style standard essentially served by the plate to you. Incorrect advertising on the drink special time posted around on every table during my visit lead to an embarrassing moment of having to ask why the price was so high on the drinks which management did not comp or handle very well. Ill stick to the other choices in Lubbock since 2 visits is enough with this place. So in short the atmosphere is all youre really paying for here.

There sushi freaking rocks here! I love it so much I havent even looked at the other food categories haha. I am very picky about what I like and they have a great variety and good quality sushi. Their Texas Tech and Pheonix roll are my familys favorites. The wait time to get our food varies although its typically pretty quick. On one occasion, we had to wait 30 minutes for our food. Overall, I highly reccomend if you are looking for good sushi in Lubbock.

This is by far Lubbocks best Asian restaurant!! Me and my husband went last night for the first time and decided it would definitely become one of our frequent visits! The atmosphere was nice and clean. The service was great! And the food was phenomenal! Another nice thing is you can go there and not spend a ton of money or they have your high end items also! Everything was superb! We both got the Hibachi chicken meal and egg rolls.

Service was slow and disorganized. The entrees at our table came out one at a time, so that one of us was done by the time everyones food came out. My food was cold when it arrived. I think they had one server for the entire place with host and manager rushing to help out. This is a new restaurant so I attributing this rating to that fact. IF I go back, I may submit a new review. But dont hold your breath.

Amazing food and usually great service. The last time we visited we had a terrible time due to understaffing and a bad cook. We waited over an hour for a single entree. But hopefully this was an isolated incident as we have had an excellent experience every other time we have gone. I highly recommend the sushi in my opinion its the best in Lubbock. We also enjoy the twice cooked pork.

My family loves Yuyo especially my two year old son, who gets over stimulated very easily, so we go to certian places consistently, and Yuyo is definitely one of those places, my son walks through the door and the servers greet him by name and he goes straight to "our"table! At Yuyo we are treated like family, and the food is so amazing too!! Dont miss out on this hidden gem!!!
