First, when I go to a Japanese Tepenyaki Restaurant, I expect a *Japanese* cook. There were a couple at other grills, but ours introduced himself as Jorge. OK, not a huge issue, but that was when the meal went downhill. He proceeded to clang the spatula for a few, dropping it a couple times, then he finally started cooking. First he puts the chicken (mine!) on the grill first. Then he cooks the rice, and when he serves it with the vegetables, the seasoning was severely lacking. A little salt would have been nice, maybe a little *flavor* too. My chicken continues to cook. Then he cooks the meats, steak was actually good and cooked nearly perfect, scallops were not but I have rarely gotten scallops done right at a tepenyaki place. My chicken has been on the grill for about 15 minutes at this point. We then have to ask for sauce, every other grill Ive been to does it first thing. Sauce is not good, too much horseradish. My chicken still cooks. He finishes cooking everything (there were 6 others there) then asks if I want spicey or sweet chicken, I go for spicey hoping for flavor. Now, over 25 minutes after putting it on the gril, he serves my rock hard, dried out chicken. I can forgive minor things like a tattooed (former ganster?) hispanic cook, but when the meal doesnt deliver, they dont get a second chance. It was my wife and my 13th anniversary dinner, and we wont be returning. We had tried to eat there for months, always too busy, dont know why. I guess most people dont know better and judging by the other groups request for "fried sushi", Im betting they dont.

My husband phoned in eight hours ahead of the time we planned on being at the restaurant. He was told over the phone that they did not accept reservations and that the time we planned on coming in would be fine for our group of 4, and shouldnt be crowded. We took her word for it and came in as scheduled without a reservation. When we arrived the restaurant was packed and she told us it would be a 45 min wait. We asked if we could wait at the sushi bar until we were called, she seated us without menus! We had to ask for our own menus and asked for water to drink...just something to hold us over until we were called for seating in the hibachi room. The sushi, lettuce wraps and egg rolls were great...but we wanted to experience the hibachi also. An hour and a half later my husband went up to speak with the young lady that seated us and explained the situation to her. The manager, Sandy, came to speak with us and said that she doesnt understand why the young lady told us we couldnt reserve seating that that is not the case in the restaurant. She said that the young lady should have given us a reservation. So the manager gave us a business card and said the next time we would like to try the restaurant again to give her a call to make a reservation. We may try it again but it will be a while for my family to go there again. For warning....DO NOT allow someone to tell you they dont take reservations....ask to speak to the manager!!!!!

We found this restaurant while searching for a good sushi place in El Paso. We had such an amazing experience! The sushi we ordered was wonderful and very pleasing to the eye. My husband ordered some chicken fried rice which came to the table before the sushi rolls we ordered. He had to push the plate away and force himself to stop eating it so that he had room for his sushi. It was very good. Lots of big chunks of chicken and had a rich buttery taste to it. I ordered the seafood soup. I have only one word.... WOW! This stuff is amazing!!! Its served in a huge bowl and was loaded with veggies and mushrooms. I unfortunately dont have my husbands will power and devoured the entire bowl. I could only eat a couple pieces of my sushi, but it was so worth it. If youre looking for a good food, good prices, and good service, look no further. I will absolutely be coming back for more of that soup....and sushi, too.

I called a week in advance and made a reservation w/ the manager, and they were expecting us. The girl that answered told me they dont take reservations though, so if you want to plan ahead simply speak to the manager. We drove a little over 100 miles from Cloudcroft, NM and were not disappointed. We had a wonderful anniversary! The place is gorgeous. When you walk in you have this huge coy pond w/ a little bridge. You have the sushi bar on the left and the right opens into the teppanyaki tables. The chef and staff were polite and efficient. Theyre not all Japanese, however, I didnt expect there to be a bunch of teppanyaki chefs in Texas. The sushi was top notch. The chef was very talented and the food was delicious. I highly recommend going, the prices are well worth it. My one and only suggestion would be to tend the restrooms a bit more often to keep the smell down.

The food was ok. Service was ok, until they ran my card on someone elses bill. I noticed when I went to sign it so they had to run it again for the correct amount and void the previous. Five days later the voided charge is still pending holding up my account while the correct bill cleared two days ago. And not to mention, we tipped a hefty cash tip and they had the nerve to add their own tip again. This is FRAUD. When I called to tell them they need to see about why that void was taking so long to process all I got was talk to the other manager tomorrow. Wow. Great customer service.

My boyfriend and I went this last Friday night and we loved it, we even share one plate because of the abundance of food they serve there! Our cook was such a pleasant person as well as our server. The following day we decided to go back again and we tried the sushi, and we ending up loving it even more, especially me since I dont really like Japanese food, but this place exceeded my expectations, and the cherry on top was that one delicious fried vanilla ice cream at the end. Weve decided to go back as much as we can :) excellent job!

I ordered takeout. When I called I asked for the Steak and Chicken Hibachi. But when I got home I only had chicken and no steak. Also had no utensils to eat with. Which was a big deal because Im staying at a hotel. Had to go downstairs to the lobby. Lastly the chicken was horrible. The chicken was very fatty and it was crunchy and the vegetables were old and brown. Guess they give the old food to the takeout customers. I will never go back to this restaurant. It deserves no stars.
