visited keepers on a friday night to get some sushi to go. the guy at the host stand told me it would be a 40-50 min wait for to go food. the restaurant was busy, but not packed or anything so i was confused at the exceptionally long wait time. i considered getting food elsewhere but the hubs really wanted some yakisoba so i decided to just place an order and wait. turns out the estimated time was off, but to my advantage, because the food was ready in under 15 minutes. however, when i got home, i realized that the bag was missing my order of vegetable tempura (which i paid for, as indicated on the receipt), and had an order of a spicy salmon roll (which i didnt order, but was still charged for). i called the restaurant to see if they could issue a refund for these items, but instead, the guy i spoke with offered me a "free" vegetable tempura on my next visit... you mean the one i already paid for but didnt get? what a favor. i explained that i dont live in sugar land/houston and might not be able to visit again, so he said he couldnt do anything about it and that his manager would call me the next day. never got a phone call... what stellar customer service. oh and by the way, their food is pretty overpriced for how average it is. the fish was passable, but the rice mix was way off (didnt have a good sugar/vinegar ratio) and the yakisoba was horrifically unauthentic. kinda reminded me of panda express. and as for the tempura, i guess ill never know.

The inside is surprisingly nice with a contemporary design. The seats are white and always clean. Their bathrooms are SPOTLESS. And they constantly make renovations and improvements. Plus their hours are very accommodating. Yay for late night sushi! I think theyve added a larger banquet-style area in the back to accommodate large parties. Wait staff is attentive and are often friendly. The happy hour menus offer a decent sized selection, are very affordable and delicious. They also have a nice selection of more traditional Japanese menu items and more western fare for your picky friends. If I had a complaint, it would be that their sodas are not fountain, but bottled, and run about $3 a refill and that is clearly not that big an issue.

Typically there is a wait, even if the restaurant isnt crowded. And that means theres a wait for a waiter to even speak to you, then take your order, etc. However, the food itself is wonderful. Most times, I hear people say the Bento boxes are most worth it for your money, but give this place a try or two and at least once go just for the sushi/sashimi. The wait staff are very patient and willing to go into detail with any questions you may have. As you enter, it may seem like you need to be well dressed to match the atmosphere and decor, but honestly, Ive seen a good number of people walk in with jeans or even shorts and a tshirt and no one gives you a second look.

I ate here on Valentines Day. Called a week earlier to reserve but they were booked from 5pm solid so we walked in for early dinner at 4. First issue was walking in, and I smelled a light bleach smell as if they had just cleaned. It was very unpleasant. Then we were seated at the bar and I was hit by a strong fish smell. I eat sushi weekly between nikkos, ninja, matsu etc and havent smelled it so strongly. First thing or waiter shared with us as how tired he is from working hard today. A sentiment all hard working people feel but suck it for customer sake. The sushi was good indeed, but not amazing. So regarding myself and husband, this was a let down.

Ok so first lets start with the one or two positive things about this restaurant. 1 The food wasnt terrible and 2 the restaurant did have a nice atmosphere. However the drinks and service was not good. I had gotten my food about 10 to15 min before my boyfriend did, they even came back asking what food he had ordered twice, which makes makes me think they forgot to put the order in to begin with. The drinks we ordered didnt get to our table until 15 to 20 Min and when they did they were horribly watered down. Now I will say the waiter was really nice but even with that we wont be going back.

This restaurant location used to be many restaurants back in the day until Keepers showed up and seems like its staying here for a while! The interior looks like a cute Japanese restaurant decked out in cute white furniture. The best time to come here is during HH, which they have a lot. Every Sunday is also HH all day! All the food is good, and the HH rolls are my go to. The best and most innovative rolls are the more pricey ones, that are still more than $10 a roll during HH, but they are pretty filling and good. I recommend the angry lion and dont forget the sake!

I must say that this place is the best sushi restaurant I have ever been to after moving here in Texas. I dont go to sushi bars very often because japanese food is expensive but my supervisor sometimes treat us to lunch here so I eventually fell in love with the food. Its so hard to choose my most favorite dish because everything taste so yummy but I would say it is the dynamite hand roll. Its a bit pricy if sushi is purchased separately so I would recommend the bento boxes to save money. Overall, this is a really nice sushi bar with good food.

My girlfriend and I went there for a fancy date, and Keepers delivered. the gentleman serving us, although I cant remember his name, was very knowledgeable and kind, and was able to guide us through our first time at the restaurant, suggesting the perfect plates. The food itself is excellent and fresh, and absolutely worth regular visits. their staff seems to genuinely care, and the restaurant itself was very cozy and warm. All in all, a very welcoming, friendly, enjoyable restaurant. Cant wait to go back!

Keepers is awesome! First off,. the happy hour lasts almost all day. In addition, there are some delicious appetizers, snacks, and of course Sushi across the whole menu. My friends usually get something different all the time so its always a treat trying new flavors and combinations. Also, they have some delicious Hot Sake that goes great with beer. I have been coming here repeatedly for the past year or so and havent gone to another Sushi bar since. Would definitely recommend and Ill be back for sure!

Food is excellent especially the speciality rolls. The bar has a good selection of drinks and the atmosphere is right for a date or going out with friends. I just wish waiters were more responsive during rush hour. Prices during happy hour is unmatched and I highly recommend you go there during day time for a no wait and inexpensive dining experience. Usually very busy during weekends and Friday nights. Overall, a good place serving great food and comfortable.

This is a busy place, but it only took 15 minutes to get a seat. The bar is not much to go for since theres always people seated there eating, making it difficult to order drinks while you wait, but I guess most people dont come here to drink. The sushi was really tasty and presented very nicely. The service was pretty good considering how busy it was as well. The Golden Gate roll won it for me, plus its happy hour all weekend!
