Quick Review: 7.5/10 Good food at decent price. Detailed Review: Preface: This was our first time here. Living on the east side of Tucson, there arent a lot of places to eat. We decided to try this place. They close at 9:30 PM and we arrived at about 8:15. Initial Impression: When we first came through the door, there was the woman, whom I assume is the owner talking to the sushi chef, and a worker mopping the floor. I didnt like that it took about a minute for anyone to even say anything to us as the place was empty. Finally the worker said Hi to us, which got the attention of the owner. She said we could sit anywhere we like. I wasnt too happy with the initial greeting, but Ill chalk it up to being later in the night, which I know isnt really an excuse. Atmosphere: 7/10 Walking in you have a sense of a traditional Japanese restaurant. There is Japanese artwork on the wall, and the set up behind the sushi bar is familiar. The menu seems to have been one theyve used for years. Instead of updating it with new ones, they just tape in new items or use white out to change prices. The owner did seem to be yelling at her workers a lot, which I saw in other reviews. I find this to be unprofessional. The place seems clean. No real complaints here. We were served by the owner who was very kind and hospitable towards us. Making sure our drinks were filled and making sure everything was good. Food: 8/10 I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Dinner Combination which came with - Miso Soup - Salad - Japanese Vegetables - Vegetable Tempura - Chicken Teriyaki - A small bowl of white rice - Sashimi (Chefs choice: 5 Salmon, 2 Tuna, 2 Yellowtail) This was about $18-$19, which I would say is about average. There was a lot of food. Everything was typical as far as quality and taste. The chicken teriyaki was a little firm for my tastes, but the flavor was good. The sashimi was fantastic. Very fresh. My wife order the Salmon Teriyaki Dinner Combo which came with - Miso Soup - Salad - A teriyaki salmon steak on a bed of Japanese vegetables - Small bowl of white rice. This was also around $18-$19. The salmon was very good. It had a lot of flavor. Not overwhelming fish flavor which is like a some other places. Summary: 7.5/10 This place had good food at a decent price, with good service. The atmosphere could be worked on. I will have to try this place a few more times and revise my review accordingly. But, as of now, I can see my self coming here when I dont feel like driving farther west to get dinner.

A excellent restaurant! My Wife and I are picky about sushi. It has to be fresh, presented well, and delicious. Our favorite use to be at Del Sol Casino, that is until we found this gem. Not only is the sushi better, the service is exceptional. We try something different each time and have not been disappointed. Susie, our waitress, remembered our names from the very first visit and always makes us feel welcomed. The sushi is not only tasty and beautiful, the portions are cut to an excellent size. Well worth finding in this complex, it is hard to see from the road.

Had dinner with my daughters Saturday night 7/1/17. It was not busy at all. The server could not explain what was in the sushi rolls we had questions on. Very pricey for the sushi we ordered, small rolls. No frills when the sushi came out, taste was blah, same style you could buy at Frys or Costco at 1/2 the price!. They charge for everything, $4 for a small bowl of edamame. Usually free with miso soup at other sushi restaurants. Would not recommend and will definitely will not return.

Out of Diet Coke, so I drank water. I got curly parsley instead of shiso leaves with my salmon sashimi, if I wanted parsley Id of gone to Italian food. When I asked about it they told me Tucson is out of it. Haha! What a lie! The price of the squid salad and the seaweed salad are the same. When I asked to to do a 50/50 they charged me extra! I hate this place. Never coming back. See photo.

Never in my life have I experienced THE WORST. The owner is ALWAYS yelling and berating her employees when they are doing their job (the only good thing there were the employees, not the OWNER). The food would have been better if I would have felt relaxed & comfortable. Never will I nor my friends & family will go there. I felt so sorry for the employees, no one should be called "stupid".

The customer service here was AWFUL. Im not one to usually review, but it was so bad that we actually had to leave. Our waitress was incredibly sharp with us, once she found out we were ordering to go. The sushi chef was even worse if thats possible. We were treated terribly purely for the sake that we werent eating in the restaraunt. I wouldnt recommend it.

Sad. Used to be amazing, this time we walked in, no one said hello, and never came back for 20 minutes for even a drink order or take our order, had about a 50 dollar order of sushi ready to order too. Walked out, will never return again. Sorry ichiban, you have lost my business forever. Sad, I used to love you guys.

We love Ichiban! The food is fresh and very tasty, and you cant go wrong with the chefs choice sushi and sashimi for two. The service is friendly and speedy, and everyone is made to feel like family. Were fortunate to have a gem like this on the East side!

One of my favorite sushi spots in Tucson. My brother and I usually order the Sashimi Boat for around $50. The cooked foods are pretty decent too, beef teriyaki and tempura. Owner is really nice, she really takes care of her regulars!

Small and quiet unlike large Sushi places. Staff is friendly. Sushi is excellent The prices are comparable to say Sushi Garden, but the portions are about half of there. The menu is small. Sushi chef is impressive to watch.

We took the kids here and had an excellent experience. The employees showered our 1 year old with attention, they even offered to feed her. The sushi was fresh and the portions were generous. Cant wait to go back.

Great sushi when you catch them on a slow day, but not so carefully prepped during busy times. Avoid the Korean bbq... ours was burned on the bottom and the kimchi was frozen,

Was very happy with the seven piece Chefs choice sushi. The teriyaki chicken was also very good. I will be eating here again!
