285 Landing is as authentic as its staff. So far Ive only had the ramen which was excellent, but Ive had most everything the chef has made at a previous restaurant he worked at, and its first rate. Sushi is great (but everyone has sushi). Whats really special about this place are the noodles, shabu-shabu, and tsuki-yaki; the later two are really hard to find in Denver. fyi - shabu-shabu is like fondue where you cook meats and veggies in a pot which is a great social meal or date. Tsukiyaki is a beef lovers must have. cons: parking is weird. When you turn east on Jefferson, youll have to drive behind and around the restaurant to park. So, keep looking right and youll see a sign saying Sushi Parking and its kind of hand done. go up the hill, and keep going right. youll park under the restaurant between pillars. The entrance is the West side (closest to Wadsworth). The rest is really a first rate experience, dont let the outside dissuade you.

Found reviews on Yelp that led me here, and also in hopes of ramen, which is seasonal. Its tucked away behind some buildings off Wadsworth, and has a small covered parking garage. You must walk up stairs into the restaurant. It was dead when we went, and I presume it is because on Google, it says theyre closed, when they arent. There wasnt a wait on seating and we quickly received our food. The hostess/waitress was the cutest thing! She was very nice and very attentive. I felt like the sushi rolls that were made were not formed properly, because each one fell apart upon picking them up. The presentation on the chicken teriyaki dinner was very nice, but I did feel like the flavors were a little flat on the dishes. The overall atmosphere was authentic, with floor seats, kimonos, a sushi bar, and more. I believe the owner was watching tv upon our arrival, thanks to there being no business. I highly suggest making sure your hours are updated online.

I found this place online because its close to our house. The reviews sold me (although I have been burned by those in the past). As others have said dont let the outside off put you. It felt like a true hole in the wall, a secret treasure, and it certainly didnt disappoint. The staff was friendly, and the inside vibe was great. We had a combination of special sushi rolls and sashimi. The food was to say the least ah-mazing! Sure a couple of the rolls werent as put together, but in no way did that affect the fantastic flavor. And yes the bartender (suspected to be the owner) was delightful and charismatic. This will definitely be our go to sushi from now on.

Food is great here - pretty authentic, good prices, and tastes great. The exterior can use work - but dont be fooled. This place is awesome. Ive been taking my coworkers here for the past few months, and all of them have really liked it so far. I usually get the lunch bento box - comes with salad or soup, tempura, rice, tuna sashimi, teriyaki chicken/salmon/beef, two pieces of potstickers, and agedashi tofu for ~$15. The staff is friendly and the chef is vivacious and knows his stuff! I love coming here.

We had the crab cheese wontons, volcano sushi, crazy roll sushi, Taos chicken, and pinneapple chicken, which came in half a pinneapple. You also get soup, which their egg drop was different than Ive had but good. The waitstaff was very friendly and accommodating. The prices are very reasonable. The fish for the sushi was very tender with great flavor. The manager said it comes from Hawaii, where hes from. The outside looks cheap, but it tastes far from it. Recommended!!

New ownership is incredible. Bringing amazing quality sushi to the area. You can tell that they put in the early hours at the wholesale markets in the morning. If you are a fan of more traditional Japanese dishes, just ask. They frequently have nato, mintaiko(Im sorry for phonetic butchery), and other amazing things. Under this ownership, this is one of the top 3 sushi bars in all of Denver and definitely competing for that number 1 spot.

I travel...alot. this was not the best. The server was very nice. But the roll lacked that special attention to detail that seems to be in most sushi. The roll was the mango roll. It was falling apart and the rice was a little stiff. Not a place I would likely go back to if I was in town again. Sorry, but I just dont know what everybody is raving about. I have had great sushi, and this is not great...its ok.

If I could make it -5 stars I would. They charged me $35 for about 6oz of meat, gave me 3 bits of carrots after I asked for extra and no noodles, but for me, they wanted an extra charge for it! I talked to the manager and she had absolutely no interest in my hunger after this $35 meal..i should have eaten more noodles! Horrible.

This is a secret little gem in the Lakewood area! Once you can actually find the place (it is kinda hidden) it will be one of your go-to restaurants for Japanese food and sushi. The service has always been awesome, the food is delicious, and the sushi is made right in front of you by a great sushi chef.

The 4.8 stars I saw prior to our visit has to be bogus. Fresh sushi isnt supposed to smell fishy. We couldnt handle it and I actually felt a little nauseous after eating a few raw pieces. We had a jalapeño appetizer that was pretty decent, but everything else was well below par.

We went to all you can eat sushi on Sunday. The crunch California roll was excellent, as well as the broncos roll. The lava roll actually looked like it was spewing lava out of a volcano made of sushi. It was incredible!

It was an OK place. Was kinda put off by the fact the sushi chef didnt wear gloves and I also got the white tuna and it just didnt smell right. The chef was sweet and so wereal the waitresses. I probably wont go back.

Delicious and extremely fresh tasting sashimi, the rice was prepared perfectly and just the right stickiness. Calm, traditional atmosphere and extremely friendly staff too, it was a real pleasure to come here.
