Terrible place. Food is mediocre. Waiting staff is negligent. And the worst of all is the owner. He is the bald guy his name is Mickey. He needs professional psychological help and Im not saying that lightly. The guy Dislikes everyone and is disliked by everyone including his own staff. He makes scenes and yells at everyone (think soup Nazi). He rudely asked us to leave after 45 minutes because we "overstayed " after paying more than $150 in food for a party of four. I explained to him how rude that was and that he could be a bit nicer and he exploded. His staff apologized and said that this unfortunately happens all the time and that they keep losing business because of him. Apparently he kicks out anyone whos stayed more than 30 minutes, anyone whos gay, anyone whos Muslim, anyone from Pakistan, and more at his discretion! Will not be back. Defiantly not worth ruining your night for subpar food. Look up one of the many other better Indian food places around.

Oh man, after looking at the reviews, I was hoping their saag paneer dish and naan would be worth a drive. It definitely was. I got to the restaurant and tried out their assortment of buffet dishes and was not disappointed. I would say the pricing is too much for an Indian lunch buffet, particularly on a weekend, but I would not mind going there again. Update: I noticed that on all the Sundays Ive gone here, the food is consistently great, but I found that they change the pricing on you. i noticed by examining my past receipts; I then asked the owner why I had to pay $18 one week and $16 the next, and he replied that depending on the server, you get a discount. I didnt quite buy that, so I will be wary upon coming here again and looking at my bill.

Absolutely worst service I have ever experienced. The food is pretty good, but my waiter was an absolute dick. I came here for an anniversary dinner and after asking for a glass of water I was told there was a minimum $30 for dine in. I looked at the menu and ordered the sampler, which is 29. 99, I was then reminded that if I did not spend $30 I would not be allowed to eat in the restaurant. I I assured the man that I would be ordering more than just the sampler and that I was trying to enjoy an anniversary dinner and I would appreciate it if he stopped telling us we need to spend more money to eat inside. We left. It mustve been my young age or casual attire but I experienced some prejudice at this restaurant.

I just came back from an dinner evening with my pregnant wife. She was craving Khyber. I have been there many times before and they do cook good food but i was surprised on how discriminated i felt when i tried to order one dish that i would share with my wife. The menu was pulled from my hand and turned over and pointed to the text that reads there is a $12 per person minimum (it could have been conveyed in a much better way). I told them that that’s ok please charge me the $24 but i don’t want to order more since i won’t able to eat it. i was forced to order extra food and the server were very rude about it. i wonder how strictly this rule is enforced if you are not an Indian. They have lost me.

The worst restaurant experience ever... the waiter/buzzer was so cold. He did not even smile and ask for drinks. The attitude was at the lowest... ebb as if they are doing me a favor and I have come to eat for free. The food is really bad, it was stale... and it is almost one day old food. They did not offer extra nans, so soup, no padad, nothing... it was jsut waste of my money 20 $ for nothing. I feel, I have wasted my time and money. They gave me such stares that they would eat me up when they saw I did not tip them... If tips is what you want, then you show better courtesy to your guests. Shelling out $$ to this place is like throwing $$ into a river. I just hated my experience...

Khyber is nothing more than below average food sold with thrills like open live kitchen and 1000"s of papad and bread readily available. It looks good, it neat, you feel happy as you enter and see this live kitchen. And you believe the food today is gonna be awesome, little do you know that not only the options are super limited the whole food was bland than any other mediterranean or Ethiopian food. $45 for a buffer for 2 is highway robbery for the choice and taste. I had better food at restaurants rated 3 stars and below where the expectations were low. Not worth unless they change the way the cook, which i doubt since the place is doing well. (So that makes not worth for me)

Went for the first time last week, two days later we returned. Two days after that, we returned again. We ate here three times within 1 week because the food it that good. We agreed its hands down the best Indian food weve ever tasted. We got the dinner for two each time, and I highly recommend it. Dinner for two comes with A LOT of food, you will be stuffed! The flavors were heavenly. The wait time was very short. The staff was hilarious and beyond friendly. I used to say Korean food was my favorite but after eating here, Indian food is now my number one and Khyber North Indian Grill is the reason why.

I went there for lunch today, and it was far better than the Indian restaurant I went to in Rice Village two weeks ago. The buffet was a variety of chicken dishes, and one ground beef meatball selection. SO many vegetable choices, fresh fruit, salad and naan bread - it hit every point for me. I have read some of the reviews others have posted - after having lunch there, and I am quite surprised, because my experience was lovely. GREAT customer service, attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend it, and I will be back. A nice lunch treat for sure!

If you insist upon "absolutely authentic" Indian food, go somewhere else (i.e. Back to India!). But Khyber is one of the best Indian restaurants in town with boneless meats, excellent flavour, fresh handmade everything, great naan ... far better than the "Fusion" competition. Debated whether to write such a glowing review because it will get so busy I wont be able to get a table. Added in December 2016: Looks like khyber did some housecleaning of the help. Entire mood of the place improved. Still my fave Indian food in Houston.
