I am a regular customer here at Mayuris, and I have noticed that not only the food, but the serivce has been terrible the past couple months. I used to salivate at the food the first couple of times and really felt that Mayuri set the gold standard for Inidian food. However, most of the food at the buffet is old and has a distinct odor. The food is very dry and left out for hours while the chefs do not make new fresh food. At the beginning of the buffet hours, now they just put out the previous days food, and it is not even fresh. Lots of fleas roam amok through here, large and small. Water has dripped from the ceiling a few times directly into the food but I havent seen this issue fixed. I am also disgusted by the service too. Nobody comes around to pour water, nobody comes to bring naan anymore. All the "servers" just sit down or stare at you while you eat your food. Yet they never come around and ask if you need anything or come by to refill the water. They only come around when they want to leave early and will hand you the bill even when you are not done with your food. Conveniently the last few times their "internet" went down so you couldnt pay by credit card for some reason. They wanted to write down the credit card information on a piece of paper or to give them cash so that they wouldnt have to pay extra money so customers can use their credit cards. Will not be going here for the longest time and do not recommend this place to anyone.

I had exceptional experience by the waiters bringing water and changing dishes. The food was delicious as well. I had a problem with the manager and the direct waiter. I decided to tip the employee who brought my water out. The waiter saw this and told the manager. The manager proceeded in reprimanding the employee by the corner telling him it better be the last time that he does that. When I payed my tab and left my tip via debit for the direct waiter at the table I asked the manager if the waiter bringing me the water had gotten in trouble. He said he manages over 25 people he knows how to treat his employees. Which is a lie, bc I saw him getting on the waiter who bought water to my table and my sister heard him because she had been in the bathroom washing her hands hearing the whole thing. There is a great ethnic decide in this place and I am very disappointed at the managers reaction. I told the manager it is my choice who I decide deserves the tip. I gave it to the employee who was constantly attending my table with great detail. based on this experience I am never bringing my family, friends or coworkers to this place.

I went to this restaurant with my wife and son. The Manager( I am assuming he was manager) tried to give us a booth all the way back, by the bus boy station. I requested another table, he offered us another table right next to it. My wife requested a table in the center of the dining area, he flatly and impolitely refused saying those are reserved for big parties only, and those tables remained unoccupied until the time we left, around 10PM. He seated us by the front door. The waiter brought us warm water. One of the dishes we ordered was spinach with paneer. This was bad and had foul smell. Other 2 dishes were luke warm and tasted lousy. This was our worst dining experience ever. Waiter never bothered to refill our glasses with water. Seems like the entire waiting staff is hispanic who have communication problem and trouble taking orders. The manager really has a very bad attitude problem. We will never go back to that lousy indian restaurant and we will communicate this message to all our friends in Houston area.

Upon receiving this actress for good vegetarian/vegan food, I stopped by to check it out on a lunch break. It was packed, but the atmosphere was highly spooked. It seems as if some people stick to the old cultural ways of avoiding or talking harsh to black patrons, as I experienced. This was halfway into the experience. Not all were like that, but the cashier/manager was to the T. The food isnt vegan, due to dairy products through and through, but when they werent ignoring, they tried to accommodate you as much as possible. The cashier tainted my experience by slamming my money down on the counter instead of placing in my hand. Think I have a tip? The person behind me, Caucasian male, he have his money to, counted, and offered a mint! Pass.

I can say, one of the worst restaurant in Houston is Mayuri. Yesterday, we ordered appetizer Andhra Mirchi which is fried in used oil and faced lot of digestion issue entire night because of old oil. We also ordered Chole Batura where Chole with full of food color. I didnt noticed while eating, next day morning when i ate chole my hand full of food color. I dont know how people are giving 3.3 rating to this restaurant. I given this one start rating because there is no option for me to post my review. Pros: People are friendly Cons: Worst food ever had in my life. Please dont go to this restaurant..

This is my favorite Indian restraints in Houston. All my Indian friends recommend it and I have not once been disappointed. The service there is very nice and they always keep your glasses full. (some of their dishes are spicy!!!). I only get the curry dishes when I go there. They usually come with a side of naan or rice. They are full of spices and flavor. And yes the place is clean The only problem with the place I have is that during dinner time the prices go up. During the lunch time though they have buffet where there is all the naan you can eat!!! mmm

I had my dinner here today. I would say - this is not the right kind of restaurant for the taste buds well trained on Indian food. I had cutlet which felt hard like a masala vada - the potato content is less and it seems they deep fried it instead of toasting it on a pan. Then I had masala dosa which was ok, though the masala stuffing was less spicy. Then I had a Baingan Bartha Thali - The baingan, raitha and gulab jamun in the thali are ok. But the rasam tasted like a tamarind salt water. The vegetable curries are not spicy at all.

I would have rated a zero or less if it allowed. We were there on Saturday night. Dining area was about 40% occupied. Was very disappointed with service. The orders arrived very late and add on orders were much late. Hand to spend almost 2 hours there while half the time our Plates were dry waiting for food. The main course arrived first, the appetizer arrived at the end of 2 hours. In spite of several reminders to waiters. The rest rooms were the worst , i have seen in last few years. Valet parking service was horrible as well.

A coworker and I went there for lunch at 1 pm and wanted to order to go. We were given menus and told to wait for the line to die down. We stood in line and got our orders ready, meanwhile another 10 or so people got in line behind us. When our turn came the manager told us to please step back and let the rest of the line pay for their orders. We had already been there for 10 minutes. Being forced to wait another 10 min and then wait longer for our food to cook was ridiculous. Terrible service, wont be back.
