We heard about this place from someone who said the dosas here were pretty good. I must agree to that bit. Hence 3 stars purely for taste and variety of dosas on offer. The place was also very clean. I think its received a facelift along with a name change from the earlier Dosa Factory that people knew. We visited this place in the month of May, on a day when it was almost 90° outside & their AC wasnt working when we got there. We felt that, the moment we walked in. It was worst in there, than it was outside. On being asked about it, the Cashier/Attendant/Owner said very casually and unapologetically, without a smile, that the AC wasnt working, as if, it was to be expected. Other people eating there too, decided to change their mind & take their orders to go. We couldnt do that, as this place is far from where we live. So, that sucked. Also, if youre a first timer there, like us, youre on your own. Dont expect them to recommend anything from the menu. They dont seem to care what you order, as long as you order something. We ordered the Mysore Masala Dosa & the Schezuan Masala Dosa. Both were really good. Likewise for the Sambar & Chutney too. I must say, for me, this is the closest the Dosa has come in terms of taste to the Dosas you get in India. Their prices are fair too, for what youre getting. For us, the AC problem took away from the overall experience of eating there. All said & done, we liked the food & will return for another serving of Dosas & Dissatisfaction.

so Me and my prego wife went to dosa factory around 3pm on friday 11/29/13 to have some snack on items, was planning to try this place out so i could invite my family and friends for a lunch or dinner on saturday 11/30/13. we ordered the medu vada and idili littles and masala chai. The receptionist asked me if i need the chai before the meal or after i said i will take it before, anyway the meals came out, finished our meal and still my chai didnt arrived. i went to the counter and asked i havent recevied my chai waited a another 5 minutes by now its 3.30pm. The receptinist which i think the manager walked around and asked everybody if everything is ok and did not even bother to ask us. Maybe its because my TAB was $11. Anyway i have faced the worst expereince and service so i walked out without getting my chai. i bet if cusotmer did not have to pay upfront they would take care of you. Since we have to pay upfront before the meals it comes they dont care. I think i will stick around with Sri Balaji Bhavan and Udipi because among 13 yrs in houston i havent recevied a unsatisfactory experience. I believe this place should take care of the customers first then have the manager should have their meals. I would not recommend this place but its a persons choice. Maybe if you spend more than $11 dollars they will take care of you.

I went to DGN Factory for lunchtime on a weekday. They were offering their lunch special from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and it included any one dosa, any one idli, and any one soft drink for only $8.99. Since it was my first time coming here, I went with the normal Masala Dosa (dosa with potato, green peas, onions, carrot, and tempering), the Idli (steamed rice cake), and a Coke. This is a great price for the amount of food offered at lunchtime in the Galleria area. After ordering, there was a self-serving station where you could get all-you-can-eat sambar (lentil-based vegetable stew), as well as a coconut and tomato chutney. I chatted up with Priya, one of the marketing managers of DGN Factory, and she informed me that this location had been open for 3-years, and they have other locations around the city. After paying, I was given a number, and sat down to wait for my food to be served. The food came out within a few minutes, and I dug in. The dosa and the idli met my expectations. I will definitely come back for lunch, as its a good price for a quick bite to eat. What to order: -Lunch Special ($8.99) served from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pros: -Value -All-You-Can-Eat sambar -Private parking lot Cons: -None

I was really disappointed. There was no one there when I went for dinner, so I should have taken that as a sign, but oh well... First, they didnt have baby corn for the dosas on the menu that I wanted, which is weird, because thats not even a fresh product. Like, why would they run out? Second, I had the Manchurian dosa and it was really dry and didnt taste like much. It was as if the fried cauliflower had sat under a warming light for hours, then got deep fried again to attempt to wake it up. It just seemed like not much care was taken with the food. I wont be coming back.

They have a large variety of Dosas and are reasonably priced. They have a soup area and some good Their dishes pack a punch with the spices. The environment there is very modern and clean with is nice. Im not sure how authentic it is but it is great for a saturday afternoon to try something new. When I went it was packed with large Indian families so Im sure the food is up to their standards which helps me to conclude that i chose the right place to have my date. Although if you cant handle the spice you might have to ask for recommendations from the staff.

We had visited The Dosa Factory this weekend and we were very impressed with their menu and service. This heard lot about it from our friends, but this was our first visit. Prime location and very family friendly atmosphere. The ordering line was bit longer during lunch time and they have very limited seating. But the service was very fast and the food was very tasty...not spicy at all compared to other places...kids enjoyed our trip. We will recommend this place to anyone who would like to taste a variety of Dosa to get a glimpse of it.

Probably they have widest variety of Dosa and Idli in Houston ..... Tried Dahi Vada and it was great .. Unlike most Indian restaurants they ask u if u need it sweet or salt , which was good ... And tried Madurai Masala Dosa .. Which was great .. Except that they cut it into 4 pieces and served it like a sandwich., which was ok but did not provide the visual impact of a wonderfully long masala dosa ... Then had masala Chai , which was normal ... Would recommend this restaurant to avid dosa and idli lovers...

The food was phenomenal. They exceed my expectations and I will definitely be back. On a Sunday night the place was packed and people were waiting for tables. The staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered Kadai Gobi Dosa, Palak Paneer Dosa, and Dahi Vada (sweet). We also had their complimentary Lentil Soup which was intriguing and delicious. Cant wait to go back and try their other dishes.
