One interesting thing about this place is that you buy your rice and naan separate, they dont come with the meal. You get those thin little crackery guys with dip to start out. When we went for dinner, veggie entrees were 11 bucks, meat was 14+. Rice is 4 bucks and enough for 2 people to share, naan is 3 bucks. Tack on some samosas and a mango lassi and we spent 50 with tip. Im reading some bad reviews about customer service - I moved to Houston in February, and this is the best customer service Ive had in town. They do team-based table waiting, so my water was never empty (I drink like a horse.) The waiters were all very friendly and helpful. I changed my order with a different guy than the one who took it, and the changes happened just as I had asked. And the food was delicious!! I thought this was way better than Shiva.

Took my friend here after she decided she wanted to like Indian cuisine, apparently her first experience was not delicious. It worked! We wanted the "Viceroy of India dinner for two" but there were three of us dining, so our server took very good care of us and made a special combination dinner for three people by adding several other dishes and customizing it to our liking. It was extremely great hospitality for them to cater to our needs like that. A sampling of probably 12 dishes came out and it was all great. The saag paneer, tandoori chicken and vegetable curry were the standout winners. The naan is soft and pillowy. The wine was on the standard side, but honestly I couldnt stop eating long enough to care about what i was drinking. Dont expect a fancy atmosphere, its basic and cafeteria-esque, but do come with a big appetite.

I have to admit, after reading the reviews, I was a little afraid to try this place. However, I found myself here after my boss scheduled a "Halloween lunch" for the members of my lab group. I looked on the floor for cockroaches, but didnt see any, and looked for mushy rice, but didnt see any of that either. The place looked decently clean, and the buffet was actually one of the better Indian buffets Ive tried in terms of selection and food. All the items in the buffet were hot and tasted good. Also, unlike some other Indian buffets, they didnt hide away their naan, and kept it in the buffet line. The dinner experience might be different here but I felt like their lunch was pretty good, and at a decent price too.

The experience, I thought it was a few steps better than Shiva. I always come to Indian restaurants for the Saag Paneer, and I was pretty much not disappointed since I enjoyed its creamy texture, even though it was missing the paneer cubes that I usually found in the dish. The chicken tikka masala had the same gross-looking dark meat that Shiva and Tandoori had, so I stopped eating that after a while, and the goat curry meat I found to have a decent taste. Usually the waiters in the other Indian restaurants Ive been to would serve the naan as soon as I would be seated, but I think they forgot. Honest mistake. I had to request for some fresh naan though. Overall, for $11.95, it was all right.

Great Indian Cuisine. Came in the morning as they opened & was prepared to order from the menu. They had a lunch buffet so I was able to taste a few of the items. The Naan was fresh & hot, it was perfect. Chicken Tika Masala was probably my fave of the protein dishes I had & the sauce was rich. Jasmine rice was fresh too but nothing deviating from the standard rice. The Samosas were not part of the buffet so I ordered a pair just to try them out since its my 1st time here. They were also fresh & very hot.comjng from the kitchen. Ive had some that had a hint of spice but these were not. They were excellent nonetheless. I would come here again & or bring friends.

This place is rally nice. Servers are very welcoming and warm. I really like their service and ambiance. Lets talk about the food. The food is not the best Indian food I ever had. But because of their service I would love to return to this place over and over again. I and my fiancé ordered chicken tikka and chicken biriyani, both were very fresh and good in taste. But I feel the flavor of biriyani was not the best. Spices level was low and had no flavor of biriyani. However, I liked their tikka masala, rice and nun. So overall 4.5/5 restaurant.

Went for v-day as a last minute plan. Service was amazing! the waiters were very kind and made our experience so much better. The butter chicken was pretty good and the saag paneer too. Not the best that ive had in Houston though. The chicken biryani was great! I wouldnt order the garlic naan again, but the regular naan did the job. The Kheer was amazing. We got our check before being asked about dessert, but ill take that as an honest mistake. Its a little pricey compared to going for a Indian buffet, but it was a v-day treat. Would recommend!

I had to try this Indian restaurant in Houston based on the advise of a fellow critic. The basics, like having an excellent naan bread made a great first impression. I tried a combination as I always do of several dishes. The chicken was nothing special. Anyone can throw curry at chicken, but that does not make it tikka masala. I won’t waste anymore time in this one. Service was decent. Perhaps my fellow critic had better luck, but I can’t agree and recommend this place.

we waited for ever for our cold and pricey food. the customer service was horrible. the waiters were wandering around and chatting with eachother instead of attending the customers. finally when we got our food, the biryani looked like it was days old with huge chunks of veges. and the chicken tikka masala was the size of a small soup bowl. i feel sorry for who ever wasted thier money on this horrible food. and if you are thinking of going thier DON"T....

Wonderful and considerate staff. They were more on top of their game than any other restaurant Ive ever been to. They even provide moist warm towels that smell wonderful to clean up with afterwards. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo and pashwari naan; it all tasted fantastic AND it was affordable. Im from out of town but I will come back here. again since I travel down to Houston several times a year.

This is the worst Indian restaurant in Houston. The food has no flavor and even the sodas are flat. The worst part is the price which was way over priced!! For you white people I would recommend Indias restaurant on Richmond Avenue. Trust me you wont regret it..... I will say the service was good, just not good enough to go back and eat that disgusting Indian food.

Best Indian Cuisine in Houston! (At least in my opinion) Try the Saag Paneer, its amazing. I definitely recommend going for dinner, while the lunch buffet is very good, the dinner menu is better. I live 40 minutes away and my family and I still make it out here about once a month on average. Service is great too, I really cant say enough good about this place.
