I love crawfish and have been going here non stop. Their crawfish size is consistent, rarely I get very small ones. Most of them are big ones, sometimes jumbo size. The freshness cant be beat, and the taste is always constant, on the good side. The prices are also the cheapest in town. They used to charge $3.95/lb on their Happy hour which is almost daily between 2 pm to 6 pm, but on Wednesdays and Sundays, the Happy Hour for crawfish is all day. However they just recently upped their price by $1, so now its $4.95/lb. Its still cheaper than anybody else. Ragin Cajun charges $6.28/lb and I went there several times to the Richmond location and sometimes I swear they forgot to put any seasoning. No taste at all. Magnolia Grill charges I believe $5.99/lb. Boiling Crab charges $6.99/lb and Cajun Corner charges $6.99 also, but dont go to Cajun Corner if you want to be disappointed in their size. TINY TINY crawfish...their flavor is very good though. Bayou City Seafood also has GREAT pasta, very creamy and tasty sauce, dont forget their Crab Bisque too. Yesterday I ordered crab bisque and for the first time they tasted bland and was on the runny side. Usually they are very thick and tasty. Ill try again next time. GOOD CRAWFISH RESTAURANT OVERALL. I will Continue coming here as long as they dont keep rising their prices.

The food competes well above its price range. The pasta dish I ordered was heavily laden with shrimp and crawfish and the large size serving was more than I could eat (245lbs male). The sauce was just right, not overpowered with simple peppers, but a good mix of Cajun spices that gave it that Louisiana zap that is hard to come by west of Lake Charles. My partner in crime ordered the shrimp po’boy and was impressed at their French bread (being that was was actually French bread, not just white bread cooked more to try to make it crispy) and the large quantity of shrimp and the all-important sauce. However, his French fries where nothing to write home about. (I was somewhat perplexed at his decision to order fries when there were so many other tempting sides). The service was also noteworthy in that they required no input, keeping our drinks full and whisking away used dishes as we dined.

I wasnt too impressed with Bayou City Seafood... My GF and I went on a busy Friday night. I ordered crawfish bisque as a starter and it tasted like cold milk and cream. As an entree I ordered a soft-shell crab poboy that was so-so, crabs were probably past their soft-shell prime(a little on the crunchy side.) Also found some snot in my silverware roll, thanks guys. Service was pretty weak even for a friday night. Waiter didnt seem to give a damn. After all was said and done leaving the restaurant I had that crappy feeling you feel when you know youve wasted a good chunk of change on a sub-par meal. (See Ragin-Cajun or other low grade Houston Cajun fare. My advice (to myself next time or whoever cares) is to go down the road to Goode Co. Seafood, or for less money go to Boudreauxs.

I had a very disappointed experience today on this place, it used to be my favorite sea food place in Houston , I went today with the family to have a late lunch there, after we ordered two dishes my wife pointed out that there is a dead bee in the plate, I was shocked and called the waiter right away who didnt believe what he saw, apologized and took the plate, I thought that they will offer us a free desert or something similar as all reputable restaurants would do to please the customer, unfortunately nothing been offered, when I asked for the check I complained to the waiter that the restaurants manager should come and talk to us, after some time the manager came and he started to argue that this is a simple and rare mistake, really I wished he didnt show up.

I started coming here for the crawfish because theyre $6/lb and thats pretty amazing right now! Corn and potatoes are extra, but I never want those anyhow. Over the past few months, Ive branched away from the crawfish and tried several of their appetizers, and pleased every time. The artichoke and spinach dip is probably the best Ive had anywhere, and I think its because they actually make it from scratch and in house. The hot boiled shrimp are huge and full of spice. The gumbo, though...mmm, thats where its all at. Chock full of veggies and seafood and in a spicey dark roux. I love it! People say that its pricey, but I think prices are pretty comparable to similar style restaurants. In my experience seafood and Cajun food are always on the higher end.

I went here expecting something similar to the food I eat regularly at home in Louisiana, considering it has "bayou" in the name. However, what I ended up having was some of the most bland tasting food to date. This stuff topped the construction paper I ate in elementary school. I ordered the shrimp and crawfish etoufee, and while it had all of the key ingredients, it was missing something rather important when preparing "cajun" cuisine: seasoning. My date had the fried seafood platter, which she mistook for sawdust covered meats due to lack of flavor. Id recommend that if you think you might dine here, eat a handful of sand outside and save yourself the $20 minimum youd spend on their unflavored entrees.

My family and I were at Bayou City Sunday, July 13th. I ordered a bowl of Seafood Gumbo. It only had a handful of small shrimp and rice, no other normal Gumbo ingredients were evident. When I complained to our waiter, he said that it came with shrimp and crab,, but there was no crab. I also ordered a small dinner salad that was good. My wife had a Yas salad that was good, but skimpy on the Blue Cheese. My grandsons had pasta dishes that were good but the portions were smaller and the prices were higher. Before we came, we checked the menu and prices on the internet and were greatly disappointed to find that all the prices had been increased. We most likely will not return..

I asked my company to have my 10 year Anniversary lunch at Bayou City Seafood & Pasta. There were 9 of us and only one other had been there before. everyone one had something different and all raved how great their selection was. One guy just got back from vacation in France and Germany and was raving about how great the food was there. He said "I didnt expect to have as good as I got over there but this was better" He asked if it would be too rude to lick the sauce left on the plate after he finished off chocolate chip bread pudding. They all thanked my for introducing them to Bayou city. I been there many times over the past several years and always came away well satisfied.

Server was distant, rude, careless and negligent. Yes i drinks were filled and or food arrived quickly, but you could tell this server hated his job. The other patriots seems to be having the same experience we were having. The food was mediocre and lacked any kind of flavor. I felt the prices extra high for such a low quality dish. The ideas behind the food on the menu was poorly exacuted by the chief or dare a say cook that prepared it. I had read previous reviews that this place was good. It really was not at all. Check out the bar b Que place beside it. It pretty good i have had it several times and would recommend it.
