I just moved here from Mexico and this place is Muy Bueno Sauce. Small building painted in traditional Mexican colors, small parking lot. When you walk in youre greeted by a small water-fountain in a breezeway before actually entering. There are booths along the wall and tables in the center, kitchen is off to the right behind a half-wall. TVs in corners usually playing sports, scenery painted on walls, cute light-fixtures. Staff there makes you feel welcome in a sincere way, they never come across as fake or excessive like most chain-restaurants. They greet you, seat you, engage in light-conversation and make friendly comments. On a very-slow day I once saw the waiter stand and talk to a customer whos wife had passed away for over 30 minutes, mucho respecto. Waiter/ waitresses walk around frequently asking how things are and refilling drinks. The guy who buses tables clears empty plates right away. LA COMIDA ESTA THA BOMB HOMIE!!! Menu is pretty small but hot damn do they do a great job. Im not actually from Mexico but I can tell authentic Mexican food when I eat it. Chips are amazing and fresh, salsa is good, Guacamole costs extra but is worth it, they refill the chips if you eat them all. After you order they bring you bean soup before your food gets there, ON THE HOUSE! I recommend the Chile Relleno, it actually has a kick to it unlike most wanna-be Mexican poser restaurants. Whenever anybody orders the fajitas the whole restaurant fills up with steam as they bring them to the table - thats what I call Mexican atmosphere. BEST PART ABOUT THE FOOD... ITS SUPER AFFORDABLE AND REASONABLY PRICED, HOT DAMN! Since moving here from Mexico City Ive tried many Mexican Restaurants, but none of them can compare to the exquisite food, staffo simpatico, awesome atmosphere, and great value they have down at Los Amigos. Im proud to call the people who work there more than just my friends, they are MIS AMIGOS!!!!!!!!!!! SO GET DOWN THERE TODAY, ARRIBA ARRIBA!

Gf and I noticed this place while driving through downtown Grapevine. For starters, it passed "the car test", which means the parking lot was packed. Went on a Friday night, and had a bit of a wait for a table. Place seems popular for large groups to come and tie up tables for long periods of time with their birthday parties (they had like 2 large parties doing b-days that night which tied up 1/2 their tables). Heres the thing ... if you want to go to your fave restaurant to throw a party, I think you should pay them a bit extra. Because youre sitting there for hours tying up 3-4 tables that the place could be circulating customers through. Instead, this place (and other small venues Ive been to), are gracious enough to let you park it for hours on end. I hope they tipped well. But I digress ... we got seated, and the chipsnsalsa come out quickly. The chips are lightly salted and salsa is mild but fresh-made. I was a fan. You might not be. We ordered food, and it came out in like 5 minutes. I was very impressed. It was piping hot, and delicious. The beans and rice are seasoned well, the chile rellanos I ordered was flipping huge and stuffed to the brim. My gfs enchiladas were excellent. The prices of this place are very good, too, which is why its so popular. I could easily see them raising prices up to 20%, because the food was delicious. We literally paid $18 for two full entrees + chips + free margarita + bean soup. Thats a ton of food for the price! And the food was great! Best part was you could tell almost all of it was fresh-made. Im usually not a fan of ranchero sauce, because its nasty red stuff from a bottle places ruin my food with. But this stuff was freshmade and delicious! Were definitely going back.

Let me start by saying, Ive traveled the world and Ive eaten at Mexican/Latin restaurants in other countries better than this. The salsa was filled with a floral scent and overwhelmed with lemon flavor and scent. We did not eat it. The bean soup was the most edible thing they served us. I ordered fajita beef Tacos al carbon and couldnt eat them because the meat wouldnt even tear apart for me to eat a small piece. It was chewy meat, the tortillas are store bought, the onions werent cooked at all hardly and the tough onion skin was still in the mix. Plus it was luke warm. My husbands burrito was, as he described it, a soupy, yellow, chicken mess. They ended up taking care of the bill which was nice but Im confused as to why they have a 4+ rating. It was not worth it. Unfortunately we wont be back. They were quite busy, so apparently someone likes what they do, but if you consider yourself a Mexican or Latin foodie dont go. #mexicanfoodmatters

Ill be honest, I love Mexican food, but I tend to avoid it for personal reasons. I have no self control. You put endless chips and salsa in front of me and I just cant stop eating. "More chips? Sí!" Add in free beer (or margaritas on the weekend), and its a recipe for a dietary disaster (at least for me). That being said, the food here is very good. Salsa is very fresh tasting, not quite hot (as in spicy, the salsa is cold, the way I like it) enough for my preference, but OK. Maybe they have a hotter option? Most places do. I forgot to ask. Decent lunch specials too, and available on weekends. Lunch special and a free beer makes for a very nice meal. Service is always very good. Friendly and helpful staff. Several TVs too if you are trying to keep an eye on a game. Good choice for Mexican in Grapevine. Close to all the shops too!

The atmosphere is pretty much a typical, small, Tex-Mex restaurant. I had a FREE margarita (the first ones free after 5 pm) but it tasted like it had a little too much mix in it. I got the a chicken enchilada with sour cream sauce that I didnt really like much, a beef taco that I didnt like the seasoning on, and a cheese enchilada that was really good. My favorite part was the chips and salsa - their salsa does not taste like it comes out of a jar, it tastes like they make it fresh in their kitchen, its great! The bean soup before the meal was pretty good as well. Overall, I would go back, but I live in Fort Worth and I dont really think it was worth the 30 minute drive.

So we are enjoying our meal when I hear a waiter talking to another waiter calling one their customers wedo. Its a derogatory term for a white man. Upon checking I want to complain to the manager and I ask her isnt wedo a bad name for a white guy and she said yes. I then said a waiter was saying that the manager name is Laset so she says. She wouldnt give her name to us. This is the resteraunt in Grapevine.word about one of your customers and then she says that its not a bad word for white people and wants to argue with me instead of apologizing for the ride remarks her staff is displaying in regards to their customers. I personally will never go back to this resteraunt
