When you walk into a restaurant 2 hours before they close, you dont expect to be treated like youre in the servers way. We were sat at a dirty table that had been seated prior with someone who either had terrible body odor or changed 5 babies in a row, so we moved to a different booth. The table busser rolled his eyes and shook his head at my child and I, the server did the same. Upon walking in to the place to be seated we were greeted after the host finished her conversation with the bartender, at her convenience and walking to our section the server( Javier), rolled his eyes and mumbled to the host. Already we knew that we werent wanted here. The food took a little while, not terribly long and when we were served the plate had lettuce that was so brown it would have made me sick to eat it. Half the plate was cold in the middle and had obviously been warmed up in a microwave before serving it. I personally have almost 20 years in the food industry and know the way these things work. Definitely wont be back. Highly recommend people find somewhere else to dine.

Our first time at an el Chico was great! (11/5/16) The food was delicious and tasted fresh and healthy. Our waiter was Cameron and he was quick, charismatic, respectful and went above and beyond! Found it off of the Find-me-gluten-free app. Their menu has very few gluten free options but we ordered 2 Chicken fajitas on corn tortilla a la carte and charro/ranchero beans. It was the perfect serving size. The rice and the other kinds of beans are not gluten free...Cameron was nice enough to go the extra step and ask his manager and kitchen about these other side options, without us asking. He was the best wait staff weve had in a long long time. He took good care of us. He mentioned he has to be careful with gluten too, so it was comforting that he knew why we had to be careful. Great job El Chico finding Cameron at the N Collins location. He needs a promotion and be responsible training other waitstaff! Thanks again.

Horrible food. Horrible, slow service. We were seated around 6:15pm on a decent (not overly busy) day. Our orders were not taken for nearly half an hour, with another half hour of waiting for our appetizers and main course to arrive. I ordered chicken tacos, which didnt taste like chicken and were just horrible; my friend ordered a chicken fajita chimichanga, which was entirely filled with cheese, no meat at all. Not to mention, the food was cold. We finished around 8 and asked for our checks and dessert to go, as we were in a rush. Got our checks and to go box at 8:20. Very slow service. Very poor food. Will never eat at this restaurant again. Luckily, we were there for the band and not the food.

El Chicos is now a local favorite for me and my wife due to the GM Andrew Womack. Andrew always goes above and beyond to ensure all customers are happy, His service is always exceptional and he truly seems to care about both the cutomers and employees. Where some establishments are falling short in customer service, Andrew goes above and beyond to ensure El Chico does not. Excellent Service Great Food and the Best Happy Hour specials in town with $2.99 Margaritas and $1.99 domestic draft beer make this a local favorite spot for me and my wife. Thanks Andrew, see you soon ... Ian & Darla

Ive been here a couple of times. The food is actually quite good and the prices are decently priced. Ive been to other restaurants that have the same menu items that are quite expensive and not as good compared to here. The service is top notch. They are always making sure our drinks are topped and our voices are heard if there are any issues. The wait time is also quite nice. From the time we finish ordering until the plate hits the table it feels like 10 minutes or less. If only it was in a less crowded part of town, I would go here more often. Great place overall!!

Me and the family went here about 2 weeks ago. Despite the bad reviews we decided to give them a try. We were sitting at our table for more than 15 minutes and nobody came by to ask us for our drinks.. The wifey got fed up and decided it was time for us to leave. Then our waiter finally came and we told her we were leaving cuz we didnt get attended and she responded "Well Im here now" we stood up and walked away.. Never going back to this place and I dont even know how the food tastes! !!

I have been there a total of three times. Each time being worse than the last. This will definitely be my last. We had ordered the Fajitas For Two Special. As you can see this is not what arrived. Stew size chunks of meat with carrots and potatoes. I repeated and confirmed my order of fajitas with the waitress and her response was " Yes it is the fajita for two " I told her these are not fajitas she replied "but theyre so good" and walked away. Needless to say unacceptable.

Ordered a tijuana lemonade and this is what the waiter brought, it doesnt even look the same! Then our waiter James came back 2 times because he couldnt remember what I ordered and when my food came it was the wrong thing! They still made us pay for the drink. Then we had to ask another waiter for drink refills because our waiter was no where to be seen. The resturaunt was not even busy so how could he forget an order and then still get it wrong. Just horrible!!!!

Coming from East Texas we have an El Chico there thats a popular hot spot but the one in Arlington is a downright disgrace. No free queso and the tortillas were hard in my daughters cheese enchiladas that it almost knocked out the last of her baby teeth. The cheese in mine was hard enough to nail down a coffin. Rice tasted like a dirty bar cloth and the service was stupid terrible. An embarrassment to Tex-Mex food for real.

Service was quick and friendly. All three of us wanted items slightly modified, and she handled it like a pro. Portions were enormous, and food was delicious. That being said, it is still an El Chico. Seating was a bit cramped, making the seemingly endless flow of crying children that much more unpleasant. Good food, good service, clientele and seating made environment a bit off.

Cheese enchiladas not cooked. Cheese enchiladas were their wednesday night special. Our cheese enchiladas came out with the cheese inside in hard unmelted blocks. The waitress and manager came out and offered to replace them with something different but i sure dont want undercooked chicken or beef if they cant even melt cheese. Last time we spend our money there. 9-14-2016.

I ordered off DoorDash. Arrived timely and with all elements of the meal that were promised. The food quality itself wasnt great. Got the Chicken Fajitas. The chicken was a bit rubbery and the tortillas taste a lot like store bought. The chips were thin and crispy but every couple of them seem stale. The food is overall edible, average at best, but not memorable.

The food comes promptly and at the proper temperature. The service is admirable 98% of the time and they are always working to make it 100%. The servings are ample and many dishes could be shared. I really enjoy their Greek Salad. The crab cakes are scrumptious and Ive never had a red snapper or scallops there that werent absolutely...
