I can not believe the good reviews this place has gotten. It is overpriced average food in a nice setting at best. Ambiance is nice, if not overdone. Several people were there in what looked like they came right after work. I sat next to the host stand and watched them tell people hats were not allowed in the dining room. Ok, old school feel and trying to accomplish a upscale setting. I like that. But you put butcher paper on top of your linens because you are too cheap to do the laundry and dont offer a coat check? Not upscale old school in my opinion and makes you come off like jerks. But enough of that onto food and booze where the heart and soul of the restaurant are. I ordered the drink special called a Blood and Sand (scotch and cherry liquor cocktail) which was very good. Then, I ordered the halibut and the New England chowder soup both highly recommended by the server. With the meal I asked for a glass of chardonnay which they had two to offer. Asked what the difference between the two were and got told he would ask the bartender. Wait, your average wine by the glass is $14 and offer $400 bottles of wine and dont have a sommelier? Worse yet you only offer 12 wines by the glass and your servers dont know them intimately? But Joe over there cant wear a hat? OK. Food wise the chowder had a runny base but was otherwise decent. Halibut came out on an over pureed and whipped bed of grits with a few kernels of corn in it to confuse the palate. That was surrounded by a line of Raspberry vinaigrette and another of herb infused olive oil. Nether really went with the dish and just made it look like the grits were protected by a moat of pond scum that had leaves in it. Fish was crispy but well overdone and dry. Honestly, if all that cost me $45 - 50 they would have gotten 2 or maybe 3 stars. However, two drinks, entrée with no side, and a small cup of soup was $67+tip. If you want to charge that you need to bring your A game. So, if you are a $30,000 millionaire that has zero idea what good food taste like, good service is, and want to show up to try to look cool and like you belong, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, I would avoid. This place looks like an upcoming episode of Kitchen Nightmares to me personally.

The ambiance is perfect.... and the food was very good and well priced. Best part for me was the customer service -- I was celebrating my wifes birthday, and it was our first time there. They greeted my wife with a "Happy Birthday" when we arrived, and proceeded to sit us at what I imagine to be one of the best seats in the house. It seemed to be a very busy night for them, so I assumed food would take time to order and be brought to the table -- but I was wrong. We had 2 waiters attend to our table (one for drinks, desert and miscellaneos) and another more senior waiter for the main courses. On top of our desert -- they brought a special "Happy Birthday" plate for my wife, as well as a personalized hand written card signed by the manager. The next day I received a call from the manager to follow up on our experience, and how the birthday celebration went. I felt like such a VIP -- Highly recommend.

I recently celebrated my daughters baby shower at the Tabor Road Tavern with approximately 30 guests in the beautiful Lodge room. I worked with the Event Coordinator Sarah Steier to plan the event. Sarah was wonderful in assisting me with planning the party. I appreciated the wealth of information and assistance she offered from choosing the menu to decorating the room. Jason, a manager at the restaurant assisted me with the beverage selections. The food was delicious and the service was flawless. I would especially like to thank Kyle, the head server in charge of my event. His skill, timing and professionalism allowed me to relax and enjoy the party. Lastly, the cake was also provided by the restaurant. It was decorated beautifully and absolutely delicious. Thank you Tabor Road Tavern!

I have not eaten at this restaurant yet but I went there tonight. The building is beautiful, and the smell of the fireplace going was certainly heart warming. There was only one problem, the combined hosting cadre seemed to have a very superior attitude. I asked first if there was a dress code and they said business casual, but as long as you did not wear a baseball cap then you were fine. Then once my wife, my daughter and I went in they informed us that they did not provide a high chair. In other words we do not want small children in our place.

I had high hopes for Tabor Road Tavern. The mountain lodge-like building which houses the restaurant was beautiful, inside and out. The receptionist who took our reservations a few days earlier was also very courteous. Our actual dining experience, however, was pretty terrible. The waiters were rude and inattentive, as other reviewers have also remarked, and the food was very, very mediocre. Bottom line: I would pass on Tabor Road Tavern. Better food and service can be found at places like Bonefish Grill.

Cost + Value doesnt add up here. Decor is great but that is about it. Service is terrible and food isnt that great for what they charge. Please DO NOT bring your children as it is not designed for family from my experience. I have tried this place about 10x and it hasnt changed much (except when it first open I thought it was the WORST but service/food did slightly improve). Overall still not worth the value. If it wasnt for my company lunches there, I would not think twice about skipping this place.

FABULOUS!!!!!! Thats all I can say. From the minute my husband and I walked in until we left. Our 2 waitresses, Nancy V and Devon were beyond SUPERIOR!!!!! I have never enjoyed myself so much as I did at this place. We sat outside on the deck and it was just breathtaking. Service was just impeccable. The Manager also was great as he touched his people which I admire so much as I know how important it is as I practice the same principles in my business in town. Kudos to this place!!!!

My boyfriend and I go here all the time and we LOVE it. The bartenders are friendly, knowledgeable and fast with drinks. The food is also really tasty though the night can get pricey if two people both have appetizers and main dishes plus drinks. The restaurant is lovely and the ambiance is great. Weve spent the last two New Years Eve here and go back as often as we can to sit at the bar and wile away a few hours.

The food is excellent and wait staff are exceedingly good. We were in a large party during regular hours and found everything to be extremely good. The food was the best - no complaints from anyone. The staff were all very accommodating and were very quick to either clear plates or fill your glass. We found the experience to be very enjoyable. Just wish we lived closer than Buffalo!!
